Crafting is completely redone in 2.0. You don't have to spec into it anymore. It's a welcome change.

Also, crafting components are harder to get. You can find them in containers, buy or obtain by disassembling weapons. It creates an interesting dilemma: should I sell all these legendary loot for cash or break it down for crafting components? I need 200 legendary crafting components to upgrade my fav smart submachine gun to Tier 5 +++...

I hate crafting in general in all games, i like to find loot during exploration and killing enemies even if it isn't optimized as something you create.

Yeah, you told me before. But in this it's super simplified and worth investing. Just pick a gun that you like and upgrade it as much as you can. I'm sure you picked up a lot of crafting components from loot chests/dead enemies.

I get it but i just prefer to be constantly surprised by what i found during the exploration, also the game is still pretty easy, crafting would make it even easier.

I'm gonna use the craftable components to upgrade the cyberware because i think you can't find better tiered cyberware around locations like it was at launch. (like the famous legendary mantis blade close to a particular cyber psycho)

I've found one iconic cyberwear but I have no idea when and where. I went to the doc to upgrade some stuff as I hit level 40 and tier 5 cyberwear unlocked and I was surprised to find it there.

Edit: actually, I think it was a reward for completing all gigs from that first fixer (Regina?).

Iconic cyberware? was that present at launch?

Like i remember an iconic hacking device but like not iconic arms weapons.

I think they also added something with the expansion but they must be pretty rare, not something you find in boxes or trash enemies.

I was messing with crafting menu and that core that you can collect after defeating first boss is an unique crafting component for super powerful weapon attachment of your choosing. NEAT.

I don't know how CDPR managed to accomplish this, but the sense of scale in Night City is better than any openworld I've played in.
The megastructures and sky scrappers really feel like they're towering above me, at times giving me the slightest bit of vertigo that I get when looking up at skyscrapers at street level in IRL.
The moments when you're riding shotgun in a car evoke that feeling as well, as feels oddly realistic. It's the sort of thing that can't be conveyed in screenshots.

Native VR support would've been perfect for a game like this. I know mods exist for that, but they're more like workarounds and make it obvious the game was not made with that sort of experience in mind.
Maybe in the sequel, whenever that happens.

Night City is a harsh place but there's a lot of beauty in its architecture and the overall atmosphere has a lot of cool vibes to it. Dogtown is something else entirely. It is deeply dystopian; depressing, sombre, decay everywhere you look, feels unsafe everywhere you go. The overwhelmingly large decrepit skyscrapers loom over you at all times. Absolute hellhole.

Looks legit post-apocalyptic. Amazing accomplishment from the design teams.

I almost finished the DLC. It is a great effort by CDPR. There's so much content considering I played from the start.

FYI, I just found an iconic Tier 5 cyberwear in a crate hidden in Dog Town. So yeah, that's a thing now. Explore.

Don't spoiler, just tell me if it was an arm cyberware and what changed from a regular one, like more stats or a unique special effect?

My first playthrough was on a 1080. I haven't even started Phantom Liberty yet because I'm on a 4090 now so I'm just slowly taking in the sights and enjoying the ride of my current netrunner replay. My only complaint is I wish the ragdoll physics were a bit better. It's cool to see a kind of dystopian nightmare of a city where capitalism ran rampant and to enforce that, people jumping from buildings, but as cool as those random occurrences are they kind of fall from the building slower than they should and just kind of plop there and slowly bleed. Super minor nitpick, but want that sequence to be improved. Haha.

I disassemble everything. Money isnt an issue in this at all like it was in the past. Encumberance might as well be nonexistent since Im always carrying about 23/240 pounds of stuff on me at all times. Quite a stark difference from something like Starfield. Just doing all of the available gigs, side missions and the couple of introductory cyber psycho hunts in Watson netted me over 130k and that was without selling a damn thing. I already had enough cash to get kitted out with cyber upgrades before I even met Dexter DeShawn :pie_raybans:

Yea despite all the improvements made since launch, the game still has its flaws and inconsistencies.

I also ran into this optics glitch bug after the Automatic Love mission at Clouds when you're talking to Johnny.
I thought it was part of the story until it persisted and realized it was a bug after looking into it :messenger_grinning_sweat:

So I was going the other path of this game, and there is a mission could just be one of the biggest fuck up by any game dev of the year, the genre changes COMPLETELY for this mission, not even the intro of spy thriller action might be enough to excuse this, but WTF CDPR, also how come so many of these reviewers for not mentioning horrid mission designs like this for a game that few people would expect to have such a big change to how the game is played, in the most awful way possible. Holy shit.

Yo what is this police AI? I'm doing a fresh run, started on hard and a police car chased me for like 10 mins, couldn't shake them at all.

Ended up blocked on a bridge were they did a road block and diced me.

Damn, could have swear I was watching a live chase in the USA.

Dogtown gives off the feeling of being in a dangerous place you would not want to be caught alone in at night vibe better than any game I have played. It makes Pacifica look like Disneyland.

After much back and forth and messing with DLSS tweaks to increase render resolution, I ended up turning off PT and RR. PT is fantastic but introduces weird artifacts on metal surfaces, especially chain link fences. Then RR came along and promised to fix those issues AND make reflections even sharper. It does both of those things but introduces horrible ghosting on nearly anything that moves and it's incredibly distracting. So I am back to Psycho RT maxed out while disabling bloom which still looks absolutely fantastic. I really hope CDPR/Nvidia can fix the issues I mentioned cause it's not a hardware issue. I might mess with the config tweak some are doing to get RR working with normal RT, but not sure what issues that will introduce since it's not meant to function together just yet.

Side note: The DLC so far is the most fun I've had in a videogame in quite some time. The whole sequence leading up to the initial boss fight is incredible on both a gameplay and graphical front.

I'm having a great time this run. I haven't hit the DLC but 14~ hours into this and it's the game I would have hoped for more than it came out.

There's just so much to do and I haven't even taken much of the side stuff in yet but I'm really enjoying the main story and simply exploring. I may do some actual deviation once I beat the game and get into the DLC but there's a ton to do.
 
Started the DLC. I'm a few missions in. I'm... not sure I did it correctly? The start point is surrounded by several turrets, a couple bipedal suppression robots, and a few dozen dudes, and I had to kill them all, a somewhat lengthy process, before I could safely fish around for the spot to initiate the DLC encounter. No problems after I started of course but I kinda wonder if I was really meant to kill that many people to do it.
Right outside of Dogtown? They all aggro'd on me my first time, but I reloaded. Then the next time, I was able to walk right past them and trigger the conversation with Songbird. I don't think they're all meant to aggro you as the intended introduction.

So I suppose this is a 2.0 thread as well? Just spent about an hour on the last boss battle (on PS5), you know the one if you've ever played through the game.

And it wasn't because of the difficulty. It was because the game kept crashing. I eventually restarted the console which seemed to rectify the issue, but damn. RT overdrive or what have you, but REDengine needs to die. CPDR simply can't make it stable, it seems.

What's the best way to jump into update 2.0 without starting a new game? I have done the story and most of the side quests. I will get Phantom Liberty when on sale but just want to check out the update. Is there other things to do? Playing on PS5.

A huge point is the new Perk system so if you have already beaten the game it seems a bit pointless. Just log in, play around with the build and leave it till the DLC, then replay the final mission in the MQ for the new ending.

If you are on foot, just go into a roof or behind a wall and stay quiet for a bit, the pigs can't jump to save their lives.

the polices are still not very smart it seems.
Had a whole gang attacking me in the middle of the street and the police just walk by and do nothing, quite immersion breaking.

My problem with pt and rr other than what you mentioned is this oil panting effect on charas and locations, extremely distracting.

Now i switch between psycho and rtx off because i swear some scene looks better without rtx, maybe less realistic but just more pleasant to the eye.
