Dragon Age: The Veilguard Character Creator Is Being Released for Free as a Standalone App

It's also the first Dragon Age Day in a decade where BioWare actually has a new Dragon Age game to celebrate at all, and it's revealed a few surprises related to The Veilguard. The biggest one: it's releasing its character creator as a free, standalone app on all platforms.

That means you can make your own Rook (the player character) without shelling out for the game, and if you do decide to purchase The Veilguard in the end, you can simply import the character you already made. Plus, there's no time limit on it — and that's important, because you can kill a lot of time in that very detailed, slider-heavy character creator. As BioWare points out in its own blog post announcing the feature, one creator, breebunn, spent a whopping 21 hours making her character.

Does it work? Does it make people buy games?

I was undecided on buying Dragon's Dogma 2, the character creator did nothing. Reviews talking about bad optimization did. I didn't buy it.

Can't wait to create my asexual character with no ass and tits.

These people are the epitome of not reading the fucking room :lollipop_squinting:

It's really strange the artistic style chosen for the characters, it looks like the movie “The Hobbit”, they all have super weird physical proportions. You have to spend at least 2 hours to create a minimally standard human being.

Atlyss should release a character creator too, as a joke.
Atlyss's got what gamers crave. It's got T&A.

It's fifa tech from like 2021, but yeah still unbeaten (and far from perfection or actual cg)

Yeah, I know! But the cg-feel comes from the fluidity and physics that we never saw in games before - except on FIFA that doesn't really show that it could be done in a typical AAA game.

And damn, it looks so good on FIFA also. This made me feel that this gen would go much faster than it actually did.

My problem with the hairs is that they are very hit and miss

Super long hairs looks great but for example, look at harding hairs, she has 2 lock of hairs on her forehead and they barely fucking move or have any physics whatsoever, they are super distracting, it's like only some hairs have the fifa physics.

I made Michael Jackson in the Dragon Age Origins character creator and won a copy of the most expensive edition. Gods, I was strong then.
