Elder Scrolls Online good to jump back into?

I played eso on my ps5 a long time ago and rather enjoyed it. It has gotten several expansions since then that I know nothing about. I’ve also moved over to pc gaming instead of console.

Does it work well with a Xbox controller on pc?
I’m looking to start 100% fresh, but I assume it will ask for my Bethesda account?
Which version should I get? The vanilla is like $6 but I assume that doesn’t include anything new?

I played for a couple months like a year ago and had a great time. Controller works great imo.
Vanilla has had some content added to it over time but all the newest areas will need to be purchased. I haven’t tried Gold Road yet which is the newest expansion I think

Is there a bundle with everything?

If you want to play everything available then you'll want to grab the Gold Road collection which is available on Steam pretty cheap at the moment. This includes all expansions.

Controller works out of the box, you just need to enable gamepad in the menu first.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

This is the one you want:

It's $20 and it includes all the major expansion packs. Keep in mind, there will still be smaller story add-ons you can buy in the Crown Store (in-game), so this isn't exactly "complete" but it includes all the major story expansions meaning you could easily spend hundreds of hours going through all this.

Is it still pretty good say to get into? The systems aren’t overwhelming at the start?
The game has basically a spectrum of systems that give you a bit of flexibility to customize your play style to be what you want it to be.

Case in point: I play this game very casually, mostly just for the story. I enjoy the traversal and quest system, and since the enemies scale to your level you can go basically anywhere at any time. The skill tree I think is neat, and I just pick what I think sounds interesting, and I'm fine with that. Meanwhile, I have a friend that's extremely into the multiplayer meta: he has literally sent me Excel spreadsheets of the best gear combos, skill builds, farming locations, etc. I've got no time for any of that, and that's okay because I keep plodding along through the story in various zones solo and at my own pace.

Why? There are so many good games out there.
It’s a fun game, and if you are looking for more elder scrolls it will scratch that itch.

I played pretty casually like other posters here, and in first person too, just to reproduce that TES feel, and I had a blast. Didn’t really do endgame stuff but played the story and tons of side quests. Exploration is good too.

I don’t know why people are recommending the bundle to you. Don’t do that. Just subscribe to ESO+ for a month, it includes everything except the most recent expansion (which is an ever loving crapload of content) and the crafting bag, which you will 100% need.
