if only people could read. the minimum specs clearly state it needs 6GB.
That's the infamous Nvidia driver crash from Intel 13th/14th CPU instabilities.
Yea if that happens, something's wrong with the game. 4GB 1650 is borderline stupid to even try to play this, but 24GB GPU is like 3090, 4090 or 7900 XTX iirc?
That's the infamous Nvidia driver crash from Intel 13th/14th CPU instabilities.
I am more annoyed that Sony seems to be getting hate for making a PSN account. It's hardly intrusive at all. It's always annoying. I'm just pointing out that it's not much different from other publishers.
Almost every major publisher have their own launcher without making their games exclusive to their own launcher. Ubisoft is probably the only publisher doing this at the moment, but it isn't really exclusive to their launcher. They have day one releases on EGS, and Steam 6 months later. But it isn't really working out for them, as their games are selling like horse shit at the moment. With every publisher on Steam, there couldn't be a worse time to make something launcher exclusive. Their games also doesn't have the popularity to succeed doing that.
I definitely think it’ll happen. They want that day 1 excitement pulling more people in when people are still in the honeymoon GOTY phase. Late releases always come with a more balanced level of excitement, which means that people can wait even longer for a sale.Thank God they will never do Day 1 releases on PC just to kill their business....

And they already lose enthusiasts with the normalized PC porting strategy, I wait on almost everything now. So I don’t think it would change much, it’s not like PC gamers are going to buy a console to play a timed exclusive, if they already have a console they might double dip if the release is late enough but that’s about it.
Now look at their hardware sales before. They weren’t any better."So I don't think it would change much"
Looks at Xbox hardware sales after going Day 1 on PC + PC GamePass

Microsoft started porting their games to PC in 2016, over 4 years before the Series X came out. How can you attribute the decline in sales to porting their games to PC?What are you talking about?
Xbox One sold 58M consoles, the current 2 consoles won't reach 40M COMBINED
LOL
And don't get me started on Xbox 360
There are some parts of the game that dragged on which IMO makes the game a little bit worse. But the combat is much better and the recently added game mode is really fun.I’ve heard it’s a disappointment, even from fans of the 2018 game so that’s enough to keep me away until a deep discount.
But Warhammer Space Marine 2 instead.
So QTE fights are bad in GOW games now? The claim that the first two hours is 20 min worth of gameplay is still horribly (factually) wrong, it doesn't matter how you want to slice it, it has more actual boss battles than the first game has in several hours, despite the first heavy initial dialogue. Also complaining about 20min dialogue at the beginning in a 30hr plus game is definition of Tiktok brain nowadays, that's apparently so "controversial" you guys act like it is Metal Gear Solid 4 or something. The Freya fight is a QTE, so why would you include it? The first real fight doesn't happen until a whopping 20 fucking minutes into the game. Compare that to GOW I to III where it takes less than 2 minutes each time. You only have to watch a single skippable cutscene and the game starts. Ragnarok wastes your damn time by making you sit through unskippable cutscenes after unskippable cutscenes. The first hour of the game prepares you for what's ahead.
Get off your high horse. "Instant gratification" what the hell is this, high art? It's fucking pop entertainment and we have to sit through 20 minutes of bullshittery before the game starts and here you are acting like it's some sign of mature storytelling. Imagine implying that playing video games is any more mature than Tik Tok.
QTE in the original games are usually part of the fight, not the entire fight. Don't try to pass off the first confrontation with Freya as a real fight because it isn't.So QTE fights are bad in GOW games now?
Because the first game has like 5 boss battles lol. The number of boss battles hardly matters anyway. It’s the time spent sitting around just watching cutscenes that’s the problem. It’s also incorrect that there is just one fight in 2 hours, but then here you are pretending that the awful pacing isn’t a problem. The claim that the first two hours is 20 min worth of gameplay is still horribly (factually) wrong, it doesn't matter how you want to slice it, it has more actual boss battles than the first game has in several hours, despite the first heavy initial dialogue.
Oh, fuck off. The entire time, you’re bombarded with cutscenes, and the game is constantly wrestling control away from you and forcing you into slow walking sections. That it takes 20 minutes to start playing an action game is ridiculous, and it keeps going with long drawn-out parts where you do nothing but stare at the screen. Are we going to mention Ironwood again where you spend most of 2 hours listening to Atreus talk to his girlfriend while riding the slowest Yak in history? How about the part in Asgard where you just walk around listening to Odin, or the countless sections rife with long gameplay stoppages? The game has awful pacing throughout. It isn’t just the first hour. The first hour is just especially egregious and easy to spot because anyone playing will go through it.Also complaining about 20min dialogue at the beginning in a 30hr plus game is definitely of Tiktok brain nowadays, that's apparently so "controversial" you guys act like it is Metal Gear Solid 4 or something.
There's a pretty good section with more combat after, but I'd be lying to you if I told you the flow of the game wasn't constantly interrupted with exposition and dialogues.Played for about a hour and dropped it, way to much last gen gameplay, QTE, unskippable cut scenes after each other that take forever, walled in environments. Yea no thanks.
Gamepass and day 1 PC ports for Xbox exclusives has been around for awhile, it’s absurd to blame that."So I don't think it will change much"
Looks at Xbox hardware sales after going Day 1 on PC + PC GamePass
Gamepass and day 1 PC ports for Xbox exclusives has been around for awhile, it’s absurd to blame that.
Only thing Sony would lose is some double dips. If it was true that people skipped Xbox and bought a PC to play Xbox games then all PS fans would have PCs now since they were first to pretend that Xbox weren’t needed anymore when ports arrived. In reality they just skipped Xbox because there was not enough great games to play to justify a console purchase, would’ve happened without day 1 ports and Gamepass.
Again my Tiktok Brain comparison remains supreme. This is a 30+ Game(probably 60hr if you include all side quests) and the exposition is important. Also no the whole game isn't like that at all. I give you Ironwood but that was always criticised in the game. The whole game has plenty of gameplay, maybe even more than the predecessor, I should know as I have 74hours under it. People saying you get interrupted every 20min are either lying pr never have actually played the game. Even then most of the dialogue is 3min max, with only the beginning levels being heavier (or Ironwood). Once you went to sindris house and have access to the realms that's like almost entirely gameplay through and through. Hell you're not even forced to do main missions first, you're free to tackle side missions, which have even less dialogue. People complaining about puzzle hints, remember this is the same idiots who couldn't figure Metroid Dread basic puzzles with Morph Balls, that even spawned a meme on this side, so yeah I can understand when devs feel the need to handhold the current generation of gamers :/QTE in the original games are usually part of the fight, not the entire fight. And lol at MGS4. As if there are only extremes. None of the GOW games make you wait 20+ minutes before giving you full control. Even 2018 takes like 5 minutes because, unlike Ragnarok, it’s properly paced.
I swear you motherfuckers acting like we’re the problem because we don’t wanna be bored for 20 damn minutes listening to characters ramble. It’s God of War. It’s not Persona, it’s not MGS, and it’s not some David Cage shit. 20 minutes cutscenes have no place in those games.
Also, it's hilarious how you guys go on about calling people who don't wanna be subject to interactive movies for half an hour "Tik Tok brains" when games like GOWR are some of the most patronizing and condescending ones in the industry. They hold your hand constantly, funnel you into specific paths because they're afraid the player is too dumb to find their own way, and what to say of the puzzles where they figure we're not smart enough to solve them on our own, so they got Atreus and Mimir breathing down our necks all the time and when you've taken too long, they give you the answer. "Give me a story" because I can't be bothered to learn the combat mechanics which are the meat and bones of your games. At least, the OG games more or less called you a wuss when you died too much and went, "Hey, we noticed you've been getting your ass kicked. Do you want to lower the difficulty? They even got a trophy for it. Sadly, new Sony has become so pussified that they stopped with difficulty-based trophies because not everyone could get them. I thought the point behind trophies was to reward players for their efforts lol.
I agree, the game is treated like trash on GAF but I finished it recently and really enjoyed it. Some slow sections dragged on a bit too much and I would have been happier with fewer Atreus sections, but the combat was amazing with big enemy variety and tons of bosses and mini-bosses that put the first game to shame. Valhalla is also something that shouldn't be missed for the story alone. There are some parts of the game that dragged on which IMO makes the game a little bit worse. But the combat is much better and the recently added game mode is really fun.

That's provably false.Again my Tiktok Brain comparison remains supreme. This is a 30+ Game(probably 60hr if you include all side quests) and the exposition is important. That's provably false.
Here in Asgard, the Heimdall fight ends at 8h46 and you don't get control back until 9h06. That's another part where you do nothing but walk for 20 minutes. Shortly after, you transition back to Kratos at 9h23 and don't regain full control until 9h33. That's another 10 minutes happening less than 20 minutes after the Asgard part. That most dialogue is 3 minutes max is a complete lie on your part. There are LOTS of parts where they go on for well over 10 minutes. The game is horribly paced, there's no way around that. Also, no, the game is not 60 hours with the sidequests. It's around 40 hours.
So, which is it? This game treats its players as mature adults by giving them 20-minute-long cutscenes or it thinks they're too dumb to solve puzzles, so it does it for them?
Sounds goodSure sure, let's wait another 4 years....
LOL
These are some of the biggest offenders and already amount to 50 minutes. Add Ironwood which is around 2 hours long and we're at almost 3 hours with just 4 parts lol. The main game is 30 hours long and I've found 3 sections that make up almost 10% of it. I could go on, but people who know the game and are honest about it perfectly know the truth. Ironwood is longer than the damn war, y'know, the one the game is named after.Lmao, I love how you carefully and deliberately choose scenes from the games to prove a point. Now show me how the majority of the game is like that, remember it's a 30Hr game for main story. You're showing me chunks like 8hrs into the game where its more story heavy for obvious reasons. I didn't deny that, what I'm saying "most" of it is 3min max.
I don't care about being able to move my character with the control stick. It changes nothing to the fact that I can't do a damn thing and just stand in place or walk around listening to platitudes. The pacing is awful. Don't pretend that it's not. The game has some redeeming qualities, but the amount of gameplay stoppages is insane. Contrast that with 2018 and it's nothing like this.List the many times they take 20minute of your control(which makes no sense btw as you have control of your character in those Exposition scenes) you said it happens all the time.
You cannot defend both, that's the point. Either you want the game to treat its players as mature adults or you don't. You can't go, "Well, if you're an adult, you can wait 20 minutes," and then go, "lmao, you're too much of a child to solve puzzles so the game rightfully solves them for you."Both can be true and has nothing to with each other? How is too dumb to puzzle solve related to not being able to sit through crucial Story elements?
I said "provably". This means it can be proven. Also why are saying "probably" false? Didn't you play the game yourself or are you one of those posters who watch yt vids of the game, pretending to actually play it? I played the game, I have 74 hours under it, I know what I'm saying
Console users when they talk about prices, everyone has a $5000 rig, but when it's time to talk about performance, every PC gamer is on a $300 laptop. It goes both ways.PC users when they talk about consoles, everyone has a 4090 with 64GB of RAM and all the games are perfect, but when console games come out on PC, everyone suddenly has NVIDIA 970 with 4GB, with thousands of performance issues and hundreds of bugs. It's delirious
None of the Thor cutscenes are 8min long even in the vid you posted. I don't care how much of it amounts to 50min, you can do that for any game. The original gow also has 3hrs of cutscenes if you biasedly put them together while ignoring the majority of gameplay that are in-between them. Who says I'm defending both? They aren't even mutually related, that's my point. If people are dumb to solve puzzles, does not mean that they can't sit through longer expositions of story, same goes for vise versa, that's some strawman argument you're doing here. Also if you want to complain about how it amounts to 50min(there's actually more cutscenes but spread over literally 60Hrs of game)that would mean 0.8h out of 60h for the whole. I also love how you went from 20min to suddenly 8min overall nowThese are some of the biggest offenders and already amount to 50 minutes. The cutscene before the Thor fight is 8 minutes long, but at least that one is interesting. The betrayal cutscene (you know which one) is another 8 minutes. The one where you find Tyr, another 7 minutes where you do nothing but walk along a corridor to reach the surface. Before Ragnarok starts, yeah, another 10 minutes. Those are just off the top of my head. The game is rife with 10+ minute sections where nothing happens.
I don't care about being able to move my character with the control stick. It changes nothing to the fact that I can't do a damn thing and just stand in place or walk around listening to platitudes. AW_CL You another one of those weird PlayStation fans who doesn't post but only laughs at people criticizing Sony and like people fellating them? You guys are an odd bunch lol.
Again, why the fuck do you lie? Kratos and Atreus go to bed at the start of the cutscene and the fight Thor starts at 8:36. There is no gameplay whatsoever between those moments.None of the Thor cutscenes are 8min long even in the vid you posted.
I didn't biasedly put them together. I literally counted the start of them all the way up to the end. If I wanted to be biased, I would have pointed to this:I don't care how much of it amounts to 50min, you can do that for any game. The original gow also has 3hrs of cutscenes if you biasedly put them together while ignoring the majority of gameplay that are in-between them.
Yes, they are related. You guys call people who don't like sitting through those cutscenes "smooth" or "Tik Tok" brains, implying they have to be intelligent enough to appreciate them, but when the game treats them like idiots, all of a sudden, it's alright because they're actually stupid. The bottom line is, you're a hypocrite who will switch up his stance to defend this game no matter what.Who says I'm defending both? They aren't even mutually related, that's my point. I didn't. Stop being disingenuous. I stated that the game takes 20 minutes before the first fight, is rife with drawn-out cutscenes, and has many 10 minutes+ cutscenes. I then pointed to a bunch of cutscenes all going from 7 to 20 minutes and you went, "No, bro, that doesn't count," and proceeded to blatantly lie about them. You even tried to sneak in the QTE against Freya at the start of the game as a fight and thought we wouldn't notice.I also love how you went from 20min to suddenly 8min overall now
It is 8 minutes. Sit through it if you want and stop lying. The least you can do if you're gonna try to bullshit people is not deny something we can all see.Even if it was 8min, you're still only able to mention chunks, saying the whole game is like that , which is factually false

Is riding that damn yak while Angrbroda talks gameplay?

‘Nothing changed’? BS. Their strategy of releasing multiplayer first party games day 1 on PC was announced just last year.
Just this year, the CEO said they’d pursue a more aggressive multiplatform strategy (basically PC).
So yeah, single player games won’t be coming Day 1 for now, but it’s silly to say their strategy hasn’t changed since their first dabble with HZD.
I was referring to the single player exclusives, like GoW, the thread we are in...
But sure change the subject if you want....

You're either a troll or dumber than the people who cannot solve the puzzles. I said that if I wanted to be biased I would have pointed to the video and claimed it has 15 hours of cutscenes against 30 hours total, but I know it is NOT TRUE. I then linked the video that has all the cutscenes and is 15 hours long and said that I did NOT use it against the game. Fucking hell, are you serious? The whole point of me linking this video was to show that this isn't how I made my points. Now I know you can't read for shit or have poor reading comprehension. In addition, you tried to lie about the cutscene before the Thor fight not being 8 minutes long when it is.Your bias is shown and I really doubt you played the game. The game doesn't have 15hrs of cutscenes. You literally searched gow Ragnarok all cutscenes on YT and choose the one outlier that has it at 15hrs(falls btw I played the game) while ignoring the majority that has it at 7 hrs or 5hrs. Who are you fooling here
The vid you posted literally includes lot's of gameplay moments during combat even and lists mimir dialogue as cutscenes. You're clearly not arguing in good fate. You choose the one yt that falsely tries to prove your point. I'm literally on yt right now and most vids list the actual "cutscenes"(aka no character control whatsoever) at 5-7 hours. Kratos fighting foes and mimir having dialogue during that is hardly a "cutscene"You're either a troll or dumber than the people who cannot solve the puzzles. That's literally the fucking point. Holy shit, are you that daft? I said if I were biased, I would have used that video as evidence, but I am not, which is why I posted it. Here, I'll make this easy for you since you seem to have a disability: The video that has 15 hours of cutscenes is NOT representative of the game. That's why I didn't use it as an argument, only showed it to make you understand what someone arguing in bad faith would have done. The vid you posted literally includes lot's of gameplay moments during combat even and lists mimir dialogue as cutscenes.
And you dared question anyone's intelligence when I had to repeat something very simple twice. You're clearly not arguing in good fate. You choose the one yt that falsely tries to prove your point. I'm literally on yt right now and most vids list the actual "cutscenes"(aka no character control whatsoever) at 5-7 hours. Kratos fighting foes and mimir having dialogue during that is hardly a "cutscene"
Bro, you said "majority" of the game is takes control for like 20min, then you said 8 or 10min then you list only chunks of that happening in a 30+ main story game(60hr+- with all side quests, give or take) You didn't argue in good fate from the beginning. I then told you to list all the moments your control gets taken away from you. You literally have no real argument here. You're either a troll or dumber than the people who cannot solve the puzzles. The first game was a novelty. Either people weren’t impressed by it and didn’t return for the sequel, were turned off by the mixed reviews, the PSN account requirement, or all of those.Topped out at 31,606 three hours ago. What happened? The first game was super popular compared to this. Did people have their fill?
Definitely a combination of things here but I think your first two points are the main reason. The first game was a novelty. Either people weren’t impressed by it and didn’t return for the sequel, were turned off by the mixed reviews, the PSN account requirement, are all of those.
That's provably false.

This game treats its players as mature adults by giving them 20-minute-long cutscenes.
