When are the next major 3DS and PSV (LOL) game launches in Japan?
These numbers make it clear why Sony, and to a much lesser extent MS, chose to launch in the US and EU first. I think Sony will still try to launch in JP this year, if they can, but it's low priority for them.
3DS ain't selling 3.5 million from now until the end of the year, that's beyond wishful thinking.
Just noticed... why is Terraria like $40?
I don't remember paying that much on steam... is ps3 version that priced in US?
Who's doing a recap of releases for next weeks? It'd be a good way for understanding how hardware sales can be in the next future.
I don't see how that's "beyond wishful thinking" when it did around that last year. I know it's down YoY, but it's not outside of the realm of possibility.3DS ain't selling 3.5 million from now until the end of the year, that's beyond wishful thinking.
Oh thanks for the info. So their school year end in winter right?

There the combo MH4-Pokèmon, remember that.
There the combo MH4-Pokèmon, remember that.
Still aint happening. Maybe if MH4 launched in August.
3DS - 11.574.013
PSP - 19.908.874
By the end of the year, 15M x 20M.
That seems a little high even accounting for MH/Pokemon and the holidays, don't you think? That works out to a weekly average of 3x what we saw this week. Not even the 2012 average hit those levels.
What difference would that have made?
So you think the 3DS will be down YoY by the end? I honestly can't fathom it, I think it'll comfortably sail through 5.5 million easily YTD.
Maybe I forget something...
A hardware revision can't be ruled out this year either. And I absolutely hope Nintendo do release one ready for Pokémon, hopefully before.Who knows, but I can see it being down for sure. 2012 had Animal Crossing, NSMB2, and a hardware revision to boost sales. 3DS is also down in MC by like, 200k YoY and that number is probably going to continue to dip until September. If it hits a difference of 500k or more by then, I don't see them making up the difference in the remaining 3.5 months.
A month extra of higher sales? Even then it isn't likely. Ofcourse with the lack of competition this year 3DS might break records and I'll eat crow.
Really? I'm not so sure it makes sense to have another hardware revision just a year after one. That would make it look like a yearly thing.A hardware revision can't be ruled out this year either. And I absolutely hope Nintendo do release one ready for Pokémon, hopefully before.
Doesn't work that way when you have the holidays and MH4 + Pokemon launching which will boost the numbers to even more than the weekly 3X you're thinking. That seems a little high even accounting for MH/Pokemon and the holidays, don't you think? Lol, so you think AC and NSMB2 sells more hardware than MH4 + Pokemon? 200k means nothing when the first half of this year didn't really have many games pushing the hardware besides AC/Tomodachi. Unlike last year, this year's third party games are all stacked for the second half of the year. The 3DS will end up selling more than last year, you can bet on it.Who knows, but I can see it being down for sure. 2012 had Animal Crossing, NSMB2, and a hardware revision to boost sales. 3DS is also down in MC by like, 200k YoY and that number is probably going to continue to dip until September. 12./20. [3DS] Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Best Price!) <ACT> (Capcom) {2012.11.15} (¥3.800) - 3.510 / 316.487 (+21%)
A Nintendo console pulling in terrible numbers like this in Japan. Unbelievable.
Yeah, I mean we'll see. But if the 3DS isn't able to shift another 3.5m (which was achieved last year with the help of the XL/NSMB2 combo and Animal Crossing mainly)...with a MH and Pokemon release then both franchises would have lost some hardware selling power.
Really? I'm not so sure it makes sense to have another hardware revision just a year after one. That would make it look like a yearly thing.
PS4 and Xbone are getting FF XV, KH3 and MGS V and both Mario Kart and Smash are 2014 titles - i think we can say game over to Wii U in Japan.
Please understand.But... I don't understand.
I'll take an avatar bet it will (tracker of your choice) it has almost seven months to get 3.5 million with Monster Hunter, Pokemon and the holiday season not to mention a plethora of other medium-tier titles like AA5.

MH3tri has sold sold as much as NSMB2, think about that for a second. You really think MH4 won't be anything but gigantic hardware pusher? And as big as AC is, Pokemon will end up selling more this year, it'll sell a million or so the first week.
What? It is below 10K? Holy shit. I was looking at PS3 numbers. Man 3DS is the only healthy platform there and I don't feel the PS4 will sell any differently than the PS3 throughout its whole life.
Where the hell did I say I expect them to sell worse? I'm saying that if the difference exceeds a certain point by the time they release then they probably won't be able to make up the difference with the limited amount of time that they have to do it, there's a big difference there. But even on that point, NSMB and AC are absolutely as important to the platform as MH and Pokemon are.
Really? NSMB will be lucky to sell half as well as the games you mentioned and it's performance on the 3DS and wii U have shown that it isn't nearly the franchise that MH or pokemon are. Even though AC will sell probably more than either pokemon or MH4 i still consider both those games bigger when it comes to moving hardware.
MH3tri sold 2M, 4M is such a huge goal now?By saying double you're suggesting 4 million for MH4? Are people still expecting MH4 to sell on the same level as MHP3rd? Months before release we already heard reports that 3rd was the most preordered game of all time. Capcom themselves expect much more modest results too, although they tend to lowball expectations with the franchise.
Where did I say you said it'll sell worse? (stupid question)Where the hell did I say I expect them to sell worse? Well I laughed. Sorry, back to work...
Sure, a month avatar bet?
If 3DS hits 15 million, on either tracker, by week 52 this year, I choose your avatar for a month, otherwise you choose my avatar for a month. Deal is null if there is an unforeseen price drop or HW revision for the 3DS this year. Deal?
EDIT: Obviously avatar will be nothing bannable.
MH4 its power.That fucking game.
