ATLUS: Come oo~~oon, just one more spin-off! You know I'm good for it!

So, PES 2014:SBC 3DS > PES 2015 PS4? I still don't get why Konami, all of a sudden, decided that 3DS SKUs weren't worth it right when the brand was starting growing on the platform (i.e. a non-main PES game doing better than the past main titles in the series on the console, outside of the launch title).
So judging from last year Splatoon will probably be a top 20 game for 2015 from the looks of things.
Probably the highest selling console game of the year?

These are really good and leggy sales. Project Mirai 2 sold more than Project Diva F 2nd on PSV (152.187) and on PS3 (90.693), and on par with Project Diva F on PSV (217,028 according to Famitsu). SEGA should keep this series going apparently.
Hmm, in the pictures on the dropbox for each title, there's the 2014 sales, then lifetime sales, then a third number. What's that number mean?

I certainly don't get the sense Sega's plan is to release *less* Miku games.
At some point they were saying that licensing was costing too much.
I think that was more one of those producer "Please buy my game!!!" comments rather than an actual business decision based on their action of proceeding to release eight Miku games.
Bayonetta 2 only 59,921
edit: Wonderful 101 lifetime sales in Japan only 18,000
Also, it's not automatic to keep alive a spin-off series if it doesn't sell well enough.
Project Diva F 2nd was released simultaneously on PS3 and Vita so the numbers are split between both platforms. In total it's still a little more than Project Mirai 2.These are really good and leggy sales.

Also, Project Mirai series have been discontinued. The team behind it is now working on a new project. They want to target young girls but haven't decided whether it'll be a new Hatsune Miku title or something else.

Oh ok. It's interesting that they discontinues the series that actually increased a bit over time instead of cratering.
Well I guess that answers the question. I guess once they're on the same platform, they intend to just go with Diva F for the main series and perhaps start up another spin-off. Thanks.
I think the thought process is that if you're going to have one on the NX, it makes sense to give them the one with vastly better production values than the other.
Like I'm not sure anyone actually would want Mirai over Diva F if they actually had the choice. You can just put Hatchune in Diva F songs if you want.
Gameplay systems are not exactly the same. We're not talking about the same game with just different characters.

Maybe it didn't sell well overseas? Hard to say whether Konami decision to axe the 3DS is justified or not without knowing the overall WW sales.
Yeah, the 3DS games sold badly in the West (Konami helped by releasing 3DS versions later than the others too). "'Cause no one bought it", remember. Do you know who asked about the 3DS version missing on Twitter? It was me, how could I forget :lol
But in 2013 they released the 3DS version of the main game anyway in Japan, despite no release in the West. And they didn't esitate to release the Samurai Blue Challenge version. And this special version outsold all the main releases on 3DS, which (IMHO) was a sign of the franchise growing on the platform (quite random, honestly), but then Konami stopped releasing PES 3DS in Japan as well, right when it was growing in the only market they were still releasing the game. It just seems strange to me that they stopped one year later, and when there were good signs on the platform.
Gameplay systems are not exactly the same. We're not talking about the same game with just different characters.
They aren't abandoning their audience on 3DS though. Perhaps they want to create a new Hatsune Miku series to keep things fresh. Or maybe even a brand new IP with the hope that it'll be just as popular.Oh ok. It's interesting that they discontinues the series that actually increased a bit over time instead of cratering.
