What in the actual fuck is capcom doing with its biggest franchise??!

I've only played a little as I didn't review it, but our reviewer mentioned they pretty much stayed in Low Rank Rathlos armor the whole game (even in the endgame fights), so it is a little too easy for series regulars for now.

From what I gathered, Capcom seems to want people to finish LR and transition into the real MH experience: aka HR/MR.

I remember playing MHFU back in the day when I was a stupid kid and abandoning it due to the steep learning curve. I came back with World which even in HR was a mighty proposition for a newbie like me, and then I rushed to Sunbreak in Rise.

This game might be breaking the "your first MH will always be the hardest" as it was in the past.

maybe is a review build with lower difficult ?

idk man, LR being easy is OK , but HR needs to give us some challenge, its seems that they dumbed down the RPG mechanics and grind of the game, like you don't need to grind that thunder res armor to stay alive against Kirin for example, guess we'll need to wait till 28 to know for sure.

Maybe the reviewer played in "Youtuber/Twitch Streamer"-Mode.

For the fans of the series .. its possible to do all the hunts without coop ? Or it gimps too much of the game ? ... always wanted to get back to MH but coop shit really its not my thing

There's been quite a few reviewers who did the whole review period solo. There are also no siege quests or similar atm so solo is 100 % viable for the currently available content.

These games are totally doable solo. That is how I play 90% of the time going all the way back to the PSP games.

Generally there are a couple end game monsters that require co-op.

Catering to casuals.

I am SO glad casuals will be able to play the game now. It doesn't matter if they're only going to play the game for 10 minutes only and drop it forever, at least it's much easier and more streamlined for them now.

What about the actual fans of the series who actually invest most of the money and time into the franchise? Yeah.... Fuck them. They're not important. It doesn't matter if they've been waiting for this game for years. They can wait a bit more for the title updates and we'll charge them around $40 for a future expansion to actually give them what they want.

Got to love Capcom...

Last time i checked there is no easy mode to chose in mh, even the guardian set usually is avaialbel when the dlc is ready so people can beat the campaign easily, not when the vanilla game is out.

I hope so but they fucked up because some reviews are giving lower scores because it is to easy even for them, and they feel like the game lost his soul...

I heard someone saying that the difficulty is equivalent to beating world with the guardian set :messenger_expressionless:

90 on PS5 Pro because it is probably the only way to enjoy the game without the technical issues.

Also, I bet it is way worse than you think. I bet he PC has all kinds of stutter because when doesn't it with new games now? Also, you KNOW this thing is running shit on vanilla PS5 and just needs a res bump and better framerates, which of course you also KNOW the PS5 Pro provides.

I'm gonna say it now, 90 on PS5 Pro and the best way to play the game for at least 2 months. Just a guess. GTAVI will be much longer. PS5 Pro was a must buy this gen for gaming aficionados. Never let self doubt and the opinion of others affect your console purchasing decisions. Let this be a lesson. PS5 Pro gamers will get a complete experience on day 1.

This.
Even if I was new to Monster Hunter, or any other long running series of game, I'd want the whole nine yards! Not some watered down crap, to appease someone who can't just apply themselves and put in a little more effort.
What's next?
Authors removing chapters of their books if I'm not familiar with their previous works?
Not the same, granted. But still..

Capcom is retarded, they did the same with domga 2 after elden ring sold like 30 mil copies, they don't understand that people want a challenge.

This game is gonna die immediately if it is true that is super easy and there is a lack of content, even the future monsters announced are few and far between.

Dear Great Flying Spaghetti Monster,

I come to you, oh noodly one, with a humble request. Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon, and my son, bless his button-mashing heart, is beyond excited. If this game turns out to be a steaming pile of Rathalos dung like my NeoGAF dawgs are saying, his disappointment will be immeasurable.

If your son isn’t a cynical, sweaty, middle aged forum lurker, he’ll be fine.

If your son is not on capcom payroll like some people in here he is probably still gonna enjoy the game while recognizing that it is far from perfect like many of us do.

They are going down the Phantasy Star Online road. Didn't end well. New Genesis is such a joke.

GymWolf GymWolf Given Mizutsune is being added later as a free update shortly after launch just tells you MH Wilds is going into Early Access on the 28th for $70-$110. The greed is real.

Edit: I want to add that part of what makes Monster Hunter...Monster Hunter is gathering and crafting consumables, tools, armor and weapons. And the Beta did a poor job at giving that experience since it gave you everything so you could go rush the boss. And locked you out from the Canteen, Blacksmith and any shops.

It's about the journey and buildup towards these hunts...and not becoming a Monster Arena Battler.

I still think they should of went and let you play the first couple hours of the game and picked a more colorful Biome. Rocky Desert land is either Yellow or Brown and is very ugly.

We will see in a couple days but I foresee mixed reception ahead. I really don't want another DD2 situation but I think that's where we are headed.

i mean theres not alot you can do to increasr the difficulty otherwise you will scare off alot of the potential cusotmer aka casual ones.

Capcom already radically pared down a lot of the newbie unfriendly stuff and streamlined a lot of the game with MH: World, which is why that game became the largest seller in the franchise's history. It took Monster Hunter from a popular but niche title to the mainstream and the "casuals" enjoyed it just fine. If Wilds is really even further dumbed down, then I don't know what they were trying to achieve. World had already struck the perfect balance between hardcore and casual, and its popularity reflected that.

I mean it's simple. World saw great success because it streamlined so they feel that if they streamline it further you get the World crowd and even more people to try out the IP. At the expense of all the other players that played the previous 4 generations of games.

If the 6th generation is anything like the 5th we will have Wilds and it's Expansion and then another MH game that is tailored more towards Old Monster Hunter players like they did with Rise/Sunbreak. Or at least a MH game that is more about gameplay rather then spectacle.

I have struggled with the changes, changed my mind several times and gone back and forth about getting it/not getting it, blah blah blah, and finally come to the conclusion that not getting it will not fix anything, so might as well just go with the flow. Even though we seem to be losing things that makes MH unique with every new game, it's still going to be an enjoyable experience, just not the one we all wanted in our minds.

Will probably get it. Probably HBG/GL the whole game.

The fact that the mount will automatically take you to a monster is the cherry on top of this mess. There's literally no hunting in Monster Hunter left now. I'm not sure why it even has a world map, if you don't need any items or upgrades and the monsters are always automatically tracked. Should have done an arena fighting game then.

If you wait a couple of minutes i can find some fucks to give about metacritic scores.

Nah scratch that, gimme a couple of hours.
Maybe you don’t care about good review scores or sales. But I promise that the developers do. It’s slightly more important to them than catering specifically to you.

The same mistake most (not From Software) do with "open-world" games. The bigger, the less interesting and the more... linear the world actually becomes.

Not sure why they decided it make it easy if true.
Isn’t that what multiplayer is for? If you can’t beat it on your own, team up with other hunters. Making it easier on top of that option seems short sighted.

The first Rathalos doesn't appear until HR.

Therefore, this person's claim is, in fact, not possible.

The only way that claim could be anywhere near accurate is if they were referring to
the guardian rathalos that appears as one of the very last monsters in LR

No Silksong? = Delivering the pain.
Given the consensus that it’s much easier, and has awful performance, this changed me from day one to wait for a big patch. Definitely seems early access.
