LambdaTek, a retailer in the United Kingdom, has given us a first look at the pricing for custom GeForce RTX 3080 Ti models

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is probably one of Nvidia's worst-kept secrets in recent years, and the continuing string of information leaves absolutely no doubt that it will contend for a spot on our list of Best Graphics Cards in the coming month or so.
LambaTek has listed prices starting at $2,000 for custom 3080 TI models, but there are caveats. The current consensus is that Nvidia could launch the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with a $999 to $1,099 MSRP to fill in the small gap left by the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090.

Even if the price is accurate, it's probably for the Founders Edition, which means custom models will ultimately arrive with a steeper price tag.
Furthemore, the graphics card market isn't exactly in a good place right now, so we doubt retailers will respect Nvidia's MSRP for the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.

LambdaTek has the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Suprim X 12G up for $2,559, which is the most expensive model out of the lot. That's believable because the Suprim X is MSI's flagship part and comes with all the bells and whistles.
Gigabyte's custom GeForce RTX 3080 Ti offerings span from $2,177 to $2,559. The Aorus GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Master is right up there with the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Suprim X 12G in terms of pricing.
Specification-wise, we don't know which one is faster. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Eagle is evidently Gigabyte's cheapest SKU, and even that costs a whopping $2,177.

Nvidia has already teased a GeForce event that will take place on May 31. The date falls in line with the rumored announcement for the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti

There is no way anyone should pay $2k for 1G more of VRAM. You might as well pay the extra dollars for the 3090.

3090 at its best is only 15% faster than 3080 . If 3080 Ti is not at least as fast as 3090 , then there's no reason for it to exist .

LOL my GTX1060 will grow a grey beard before I replace it. It's good enough to play my FPS games at 144hz. Switch and PS4 diverted much of my play time from PC and next gen offers an easy $500 upgrade path (when it's available). I'm just not hungry enough for a new PC graphics card to find waiting even difficult. This frothing demand for a GPU confounds me. Yeah there's mining but this is still insane.

I too don't game on it, I think the new GPUs are great with compute, however be prepared, that you are going to have a space heater from you PC, it's crazy how much heat my GPU produces, when I for example training some Neural Network or mining.

But I guess you kind of have to wait now for normal prices and just keep the one of the best GPUs from past years from AMD. Shame that card didn't really went for normal sale that much...

I think you push your GPU's harder. I would only need that power when rendering, it means 5-20min occasionally. I even cap my CPU at base clock of 3.7GHz (2700x).

I think older GPU's with faster SSD's, bigger RAM's, good VRAM's will keep up pretty well this whole generation. If money is an issue it's better to wait.

What I don't understand is how are actual stores asking ridiculous prices. Shortages are one thing but I would only expect individual resellers/scalpers to inflate prices but I see stores running alongside as well.

Is NVIDIA selling the GPUs for ridiculous prices to the stores? Is the cost to produce the GPU crazy high due to shortagr in components? Can't imagine for example Sony PS5 going for 1k in actual stores.

There's no law making this illegal if the recommend price isn't met, it's more a guideline for the consumer to understand what the manufacturer recommends they pay for it. If consumers don't pay the price it comes down, here in australia there are 6700xt, 6900xt and rtx 3070 cards on shelves now. They are like 2-3 times the price they should be but luckily we seem to have hit the limit people will pay , the prices on those cards have been very slowly coming down, like 10-20 bucks the last 2-4 weeks.

That's rough. I'm still living on a 1070Ti and am looking at upgrading to the equivalent 4070 or possibly even 5070 if my performance keeps up as well as it has been. I'm still able to run AAA games on high settings, usually with a 0.7 render scale. Ray tracing looks great in videos but not enough to justify a new video card yet when mine still runs as well as it does. If I can squeak through until the 5070 I'll be very pleased.

The best thing about this new gen of gaming for me is having not needed to upgrade my PC for it. All my parts are from the PS4/XB1 era.

If anything, this generation has taught Nvidia that the market will still bear a higher cost. They tried to bring "bank for the buck" back to the market but the crazy prices people are willing to pay have shown that price is not that important. Sucks for general users but I don't expect the same MSRP vs performance ratio in the future. I hope I am just being an idiot and wrong.

I've never heard of the retailer lambda tek or whatever the name says so I don't believe the price will be like that on actual UK real pc retailers like scan computers etc.

I still think rrp will be £999 but the Overclocked versions will go up to 3090 prices.

Christ this will never end will it? I bought an EVGA 1080TI SC2 for €850 back in 2018. Skipped the 20 series because I didn't think it was worth the price/performance, thought maybe I could upgrade when the 30 series comes around, and now prices have not only doubled, but you can't even get anything because of mining and scalpers.

Guess I'm sticking to 1440@120 for the foreseeable future. 4K and raytracing is cool, but not €2500+ cool.

Well, I guess I’ll still be hanging on to my 2080s for a while longer… At this rate, I likely won’t upgrade until the 40xx series comes out.

There’s no way I will pay these insane prices for cards, and it feels wasteful to buy a new system just to get an upgraded card (my current system is a Ryzen 9 3900X, and I’m satisfied with it).

I just can’t believe that people are buying into this - Nvidia and the AIBs are completely fucking people over. Yeah, supply and demand, but this is getting ridiculous.

LOL let me know what you are smoking how can GPU with less SM then 3090 be 15% faster? at best might match it if its clocked higher but with half the Vram and no NVlink. Its 3080ti for a reason and not 3090ti.
