SC2 at 8th makes me sadface.

Almost all is forgiven for Black Ops in 28th. Sweet justice. That's what you get for fucking over the PS3 owners, Treyarch.

Shame on Platinum too but at least they patched Bayonetta to a somewhat playable state on the PS3.

Awesome job dudes, real interesting stuff here to look at in terms of gauging GAF taste (even if turnout was weirdly low this year, especially among mods, were stump and ami the only ones to vote?)

Wonder if you could produce the number of ballots that do NOT contain Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption or Mario Galaxy. Might be a way to check the number of gamer iconoclasts, sort of a crude threshold check of Durante's amazing dissimilarity statistic. (maybe also throw in Starcraft 2 to take care of the PC folks).

Yeah I am more interested in next year's vote. Red Dead was the only game on my list that I thought could be game of the year. I didn't really feel as strongly about any of the games this year compared to say ME, Mirror's Edge or The Witcher when they did come out.

Maybe next year instead of honorable mentions we should have a "No thank you" slot where you get to nominate a game of which you fear that it might be popular, but which you personally don't want to see nominated at all.

Nope. Closest was gdt5016 who picked the top 3. 27 people had ME2 at #1 and RDR at #2 but only gdt5016 also picked SMG2 at #3 and none of them picked Bayonetta at #4 or GoW3 at #5.

I haven't even played the first Mass Effect, yet alone Mass Effect 2. I'll get down it to it someday, there's just too many other games to play. But congrats to the game for winning the award.

After Uncharted 2 I thought there's no way a game would have such an impact on me for a long time, and then Mass Effect 2 release mere months later. So deserved. So good. Well done Bioware.

Have to say though, and I myself am guilty of this as I hadn't played it when I cast my vote, but it's criminal how Castlevania: Lords of Shadow didn't feature on this list. Especially when God of War 3 did.

If your PC is good then yeah you probably should just go with that version. All the DLC will cost you like $20 which will still be less than what the ps3 version will retail for on release.

Because its kind of unoriginal, kind of long, kind of poorly paced. Its a pretty average game so I don't see why it should be in the top 10.

Wow great job guys. All of the data is pretty neat, it was a lot more fun to read that list and all of the data than any of the lame goty stuff the gaming press does. You asked for what we liked and didn't like, so I'll just add that it would be nice if the 'Seal of Quality' award was ranked by average points per title or something instead of total points. You know all the ones in that list that released more than 10-15 games released some crap that only a few people here enjoyed and it pushed them up higher on the list. I like pretty much everything else you guys did.

Wouldn't have given it to Mass Effect 2, but it was in my top 5 (I think) so I'm happy it charted.

But what makes me really happy is Bayonetta charting high.

Results are not too surprising, but wild to me all the same. Alan Wake sneaking right past Vanquish is so very, very wrong.

At least Bayo cracked top five.

And at least Lords of Shadow was MIA from the top 25, holla.
