CDPR moved on from 2077 a while ago, I would be surprised if they do anything. Its nice to see this list. I think FF16 and CyberPunk 2077 would be nice to have in the coming months. NBA 2K and Madden are a surprise. Digital Foundry is going to be busy.
I think with FF16, the game is just too demanding to deliver a good 60 fps on the PRO. Would be lucky to hit 900p before upscaling. Going by PC, it is incredibly demanding. Could do 40 fps though with PSSR but 40 fps is still not untilised well by developers.CDPR moved on from 2077 a while ago, I would be surprised if they do anything.
As for FF16, I think Square wants to forget it ever existed as soon as possible.
Back on PS4 where it belongs. (kidding, I hope it sees some more love at some point)Where Last Guardian?
I feel you, i currently have 6 tabs to different stores open that I refresh several times a day to see if one of them gets stock. Here i sit, with all the games i own from that list on disc, money ready to buy the pro, and not a single disc drive for sale available in holland for the last 3-4 weeks. not even on the sony store. why am i being punished as a physical buyer? i mean, i wont buy a pro before i can buy a discdrive, but not a single store in .nl receiveing a discdrive the last 4 weeks is very strange. i hate the digital push. i just want pretty pictures on my LG C4, i want that pro. why cant i transfer my physical licence to a digital one? why do i feel punished and why do i still want to buy one?
It will lock to 4K on Pro.I know that Astrobot runs beautifully on the base PS5, but it's absence is puzzling.
If it runs and looks pristine on the base console what else is there to gain in terms of a patch? Besides probably a 120fps mode what else could they add and don't just say the blanket words "ray tracing". I fear some individuals are just calling for patches for the sake of it without telling us what could possibly be done to said games. The Returnal crowd have a point, but some games will greatly benefit from the overall boost from the base console and really don't need anything more.I know that Astrobot runs beautifully on the base PS5, but it's absence is puzzling.
What? There hasn't been any footage yet.
From the initial reports it is better, but nothing mind blowing. We do? source?

RT was often below 30. More like 25. It’s crazy that it can hit 60 now at points.Get the fax right on!
Ray-Tracing mode used to be freely stuck at 30-32fps with drops. 48 to 60 is a much better place...
You won’t get a patch from From. That is without a patch.
Hopefuly. Otherwise they'd just patch the game with somehting stupid like 8k just so you can't hit 60fps again. I swear they hate their own fanbase. You won’t get a patch from From.
Better ray tracing, higher fidelity, and 60fps would be my guess.Wonder what Callisto will offer. The quality mode had amazing ray tracing implementation. Having that mode at full 60 fps is a fuck yeah moment.
They are working on porting it to Mac. So hope isn't completely lost.CDPR moved on from 2077 a while ago, I would be surprised if they do anything.
If Quality Mode is averaging 55fps with boost than Performance Mode should be a locked 60fps. With a VRR display Quality Mode would be the ideal way since it falls within range. For those who want to experience elden ring at a locked 60 fps, you can install the ps4 version on your ps5 and it will do just that.
Looks like even the pro version won’t be locked.
There are a few videos online already.I just want to see how the boost mode works.
Sony just updated the blog post to say this:What!!! Been waiting ages for this to come to PS5!!!
Sony just updated the blog post to say this:
"*Update: PS5 Pro enhancement for Arma Reforger will be scheduled after November 7."
It's not coming out this soon, in the end.
Too busy patching the Pc version probably.i guess there wont be a ff16 patch unlike rebirth?
it uses their own engine, maybe not a straightforward change
From the initial reports it is better, but nothing mind blowing.
Oof, Pro seems to dip 1 to 4 frames lower In performance mode in comparison to the og PS5. Hope they patch it, lower the Res a slight amount to reach 60 or maybe its is a CPU thing.

Not like this man, not like this...
PS: this has to be the most underwhelming Pro patch so far

Yea that's one of the first ones I'll boot up.Wonder what Callisto will offer. The quality mode had amazing ray tracing implementation. Having that mode at full 60 fps is a fuck yeah moment.
Can we run the base ps5 performance mode version on the pro?Nah man. Quality mode is getting an image quality boost and great looking RT, performance mode looks much sharper and cleaner and getting quality settings. As i said, shame about those fps drops, but its should be fine most of the time especially on a VRR display.

It's pretty much the same frame rate profile (close to 60fps) but it looks much sharper (look at the foliage and the rock below) and has settings used in the old quality mode at 60fps.
The 30fps mode adds a lot of ray traced stuff.
I just tested it. Pretty wild honestly like I can’t see any significant drop in image quality changing from „quality” to „performance” settings, while the latter is just butter smooth 60… and no sign of texture streaming issues in umbral that were just everywhere in vanillaLords of the Fallen has confirmed Pro support:
