This announcement from the Xbox showcase was a nice surprise, it's an FPS horror developed by The Chinese Room. Coming out early 2024 for Xbox, Playstation and PC.

STILL WAKES THE DEEP is a return to the first-person narrative horror genre for The Chinese Room, creator of critically acclaimed games such as Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and Dear Esther.

You are an off-shore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard.

Nice. Another horror game on my list. Hopefully this year so it can be a horror game resurgence. Fatal Frame, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Amnesia, Dead Space, and Callisto Protocol.

Two games announced in the same week, both set on and under the ocean. Still Wakes The Deep more forward about its horror themes, while Under The Waves is an eerie ocean depths exploration game. I'm excited to see more of both!
