Astro Bot gets my GOTY vote. I've not finished it, but I'm constantly saying 'oh that's really cool!' or genuinely impressed by the way they utilise the technology available. Also, when I'm watching my kids play it, the way they react to it reminds me of how I used to feel playing games at a young age.

1) Of those FFVII Rebirth is my GOTY and would be anyway. I spent over 200 hours on it and adored it.
2) Having Elden Ring DLC as a GOTY candidate feels cheesy.
3) Glad they have Stellar Blade for best musical score. It's my soundtrack of the year. It's so good. I'd love to put Rebirth in there, but if I'm being honest, I didn't love the soundtrack as much as I thought I would. OG FFVII's soundtrack is one of my all time favorites, but some of the remixes in Rebirth didn't hit with me. Stellar blade's was so good. Would be cool if it won.

I actually think it's a pretty bad list.
Remove Balatro (it's stupid, don't @ me), SOTE (ER won in 2022, it got its due, and they excluded PL last year, it feels like just a justification to award ER again), and BMW and replace them with Infinite Wealth, UFO 50, and SH2

Death is expected so embrace it. Experiment with the items and enjoy the sandbox. There is also the rescue system (but that probably requires switch online).

This was my biggest surprize in the nominees list. With how much praise this game got from some publications, i was expecting the game to me nominated in alot more categories. I guess cherry picking the publications and reviewers for the game only paid off to inflate the Metacritic Score, cuz aparently most publications didnt found the game to be even worth a nomination.

I get the problems with including a DLC but its a good piece of content, i don't think it will win anyway so people are just being way overdramatic.
This is clear as day between Metaphor, Astro Bot and Rebirth, they are the most nominated games by far.
Anyway, Phantom Liberty got robbed, it deserved way more last year but it just got best ongoing game lol.

It’s the same folks who swore up and down that Black Myth wouldn’t be there. Yet it is.
I have no problem with ER Expansion being there. Phantom Liberty should have been a nom last year.

For a year that’s supposedly one of gaming’s best in a while, seeing the actual GOTY nominees lists is quite depressing. Everything feels so safe, redundant, unoriginal.
I haven’t played Balatro, but judging from players’ reception, the people scoffing at it aren’t as savvy as they think they are.
