I don't get how two big anticipated sequels and a few smaller new IPs is considered duabolical around here, but well...Diabolical. I hope for PS5 owners sake they have a couple of surprises up their sleeve.
It reviewed good and got widespread criticism for its walking simulator gameplay.
I'm not one of those who think a woman protagonist = woke dei infested trash, but still can't believe they ditched Jin for a female character and the thought process was:
"Jin was so cool, how we make a female character cooler than our previous main character? I know, give her 2 swords!"
Does it though? After Concord, one would hope Sony would take a long hard look at their success or lack thereof in the live service field, Hell Divers 2 being the one notable success.
Honestly, Sony/PS needs to announce something brimming with testosterone (a.k.a. "toxic masculinity") soon to even out its offerings. This list is kinda tame overall. Not to say some of them aren't interesting. There needs be something brazenly/unapologetically thrilling to spice it up and ignite people's excitement. Not a single thing there to interest me. I’d sell my PS5 if it wasn’t for GTA VI.
Some folks here will disagree with me, but I think a Days gone 2 surprise announcement could maybe shake things up a bit.
How could you forget their most important game of 2025:
Can't wait!
Seems like they have, though? Lots of love-services stuff has been canceled and I’m pretty sure the decision to completely scrap Concord wouldn’t have been taken lightly.
If this bombs or simply never comes out can we stop holding Jade Raymond in high regard and let her retire and become a youtuber or something?
idk man. Those both strike me as Steam games first and Sony games second.I don't get how two big anticipated sequels and a few smaller new IPs is considered duabolical around here, but well...
Sony still own the IP for death stranding or not?, If the first game released on xbox doesn't that mean the same will happen with death 2 too in the future?
They were doing weird shit at E3. I'm not talking about that. (weird shit + live events).
leaving E3 was a multifaceted decision. but again I'm not talking about E3 at all.
Their pipeline is all screwed up, which is why they have been doing this instead.
their last showcase was in 2023....what are you even talking about?
it had a bad reception because it failed to deliver on expectations. WHY?....because a bunch of games got canceled or delayed. That is the point I'm making.
you can have both.
contradicting your own argument:
A lot of people caping for PlayStation´s current situation regarding their lackluster pipeline/showcases are clueless or very naive.
Games will always have a dynamic way of being shown, and marketing strategies will vary (this has been true even with showcases). For example, TLoU was revealed at TGA.
No one is asking Sony to have a showcase every 12 months, but rather that when they choose to hold one, it actually delivers. and they haven't delivered not because of a "change in strategy" but because they fucked up their pipeline. it's baffling that people don't realize this.
In other words, Sony now has a deficit of 3-4 games that should have been released by now. How can you make a showcase when you don’t have the content to... showcase? And they don’t have the content because, as I’ve said several times, they got screwed by GaaS (which also impacted single-player games) — because it affected entire studios.
Death Stranding 2 is the only one I care about. That's a pretty pathetic 2025.
Sure makes sense. The critics rated it high but many gamers all over the internet mocked it and called it a walking simulation. What you are saying makes no sense. “It reviewed well but received widespread criticism for the core of the game”. What? No what you are citing is the divisiveness of the game. It was love it or hate it. That’ll be the same for Death Stranding 2, with perhaps a bit more action.
It seems you just want Death Stranding to be something it isn’t.
Sure makes sense. The critics rated it high but many gamers all over the internet mocked it and called it a walking simulation.
Even in this thread.
Just like every critic is right!Yeah, because every opinion on the internet is right!
The plain fact is it doesn't matter if some people don't like it, only that enough people did. And evidently it got enough love to deserve a sequel.
Well the first game was amazing and had the coolest online component I've ever experienced as well as playing into the game's themes of connection and community so I'd love it if that had won GOTY but seems From is good at winning over GeoffI'm not one of those who think a woman protagonist = woke dei infested trash, but still can't believe they ditched Jin for a female character and the thought process was:

The only thing good going from Sony First Party at the moment, hoping Barlog's team has something to show next year...
DS2 is going to win GOTY because muh Kojima, even tho the game will be twice the walking simulator it was the first game...
But...there's a bunch of titles there. What WOULD interest you if none of those?Diabolical. I hope for PS5 owners sake they have a couple of surprises up their sleeve.
idk man. Those both strike me as Steam games first and Sony games second.
Kojima. It’s a solid 7.5 out of 10 but it’s definitely also a glorified walking sim with an incoherent story but great visual presentation.Whats the pull for Death Stranding games??
I saw some gameplay videos of a dude tumbling over some cliffs. Thought it was kinda lame.
And you aren’t a salty PlayStation troll? Lol.Says the resident pc warrior/troll.

I'm in a very similar position. So far almost every PS5 game I've wanted has also been playable on my PS4.I agree, even though most of the games named in this thread don't appeal to me personally. It's good that Sony is spreading their wings with some new IP; I just wish they would do so in genres that I'm interested in.
PS5 has been out for 4 years already, yet Sony has still failed to fully convince me to step up from the trusty ol' PS4. Astro Bot sure looks great, though. I'll still continue to keep an eye on their game lineup, as maybe some other pleasant surprises will come down the pike.
