At least 8% is an actual improvement unlike what we've heard about arrow lake (and zen 5 non-3d)
They have my attention.

It's probably the 5% improvement from Zen4 to Zen5, plus higher clock speed, due to the new tech for the 3DV cache.
Still, it won't be enough to justify going from a 7800X3D to a 9800X3D. But for people with a normal Zen4 CPU, it will be definitely be worth the consideration.

Hm, dilemma time. Go all in and use the 9950X3D or go for the 9800X3D in the 5090 rig.
The price for the 9950X3D will probably be a lot more, and the gains for gaming will probably not be much, especially in 4K. Or maybe it will.. hmm..

I got suckered into buying the 7950X3D at launch and seeing the 7800X3D beat it in almost every games still piss me off. That’s why I got the 9800x3D this time around.

Really? Hm, yeah I think the 9800x3d is a very safe and good choice. The 9950x3d does use the 3d cache somewhat different I believe, which should be exciting to see. But i'm probably going for the 9800x3d as well.

Got the 9800X3D yesterday. Just did my first curve shaper OC. Some really promising results. 5.7ghz just on the settings skatter bencher recommends in his guide.
