...the PC version of Assassin's Creed Shadows will feature Denuvo, a controversial DRM software detested by the community for negatively affecting loading times and framerate in games, something Denuvo's creator Irdeto categorically denies, blaming its low reputation on pirates and gamers.

The second caveat relates to another requirement the community generally dislikes: the mandatory account linking to the studio's Ubisoft Connect platform when buying Assassin's Creed Shadows on Steam.

To top it all off, Shadows' EULA also includes a provision that allows the game to monitor your PC's RAM to ensure you're not running any unauthorized programs like macros, cheats, or hacks, a well-intentioned clause that nonetheless feels a touch out of place in a single-player game and could potentially scare off some of the more suspicious players who aren't comfortable with their hardware being monitored.

Even Veilguard knew to drop Denuvo and EA launcher to show some cheap ass consumer-friendly wills.

Ubi is just gonna go double time on self-destruction.

Who would even want to pirate this?

Don't have an issue with either of those.

The game itself is another story.

That would be off putting. In Odyssey I had to use a so called cheat to extend what you could carry. It became a chore going into the menu and going through the weapons and other gear to reduce weight, same crap was in Witcher 3 which I altered as well. I just want to play the game and collect things as I go, not spend hours deleting and dismantling and trying to decide which bits are better keeping and then have the same problem a few hours later.

That's assuming it's similar. Also the photo mode needed free cam in Odyssey, standard it's a very short distance only. Don't fuck with PC players ubisoft.

I used cheats in odyssey for resources and to eliminate the awful grind (for which they wanted to sell boosters to ease) and it made the experience much better.

I am skipping shadows.

Buncha retarded greedy bastards, let me use cheats in my single player games. But no, they need to sell their DLC.
Game looked like ass anyway, but bad for the 12 people wanting to play this.

What the fuck??

Sure Ubi, I'll let you actively monitor literally every process that's running on my machine. No problem.

Lol. Imagine allowing complex anticheat software on your PC for single player stuff just because Ubi wants to sell you grind-skip items in the cash shop. People buying this are really going to have some explaining to do.

Smell that? That's the smell of desperation.

Edit: Misread the title, I thought they were getting rid of Denuvo and account linking... Jesus, what are they thinking?

Imagine being so uptight about people installing mods, cheats or macros for your single player game purely because you want to railroad everyone into buying your shortcut XP booster garbage microtransactions that you force people to install RAM snoopers.

Man Ubisoft what the fuck are you doing?

The ironic part is that I'm sure there will be a mod to circumvent the RAM monitoring out in a few days (if there's enough of an audience left here to even bother). I absolutely won't support games starting to monitor RAM though, that's way too far for a single player videogame. I can't explain how much this game and Ubi in general disgusts me at this point.

I can't wait to play this gem, it has everything I love in a videogame, hundreds of hours of repetitive quests, gigantic world without soul, DEI, a black samurai, LGTBQ+ characters, abusive DRM being a singleplayer, DLCs with experience boost... It's just wonderful!

What a time to be alive, we've went for free cheats to make your game easier, to monitoring your PC's RAM to make sure you're not cheating in hopes of avoiding boosters and other microtransactions.

"Shadows' EULA also includes a provision that allows the game to monitor your PC's RAM to ensure you're not running any unauthorized programs like macros, cheats, or hacks,""

This is absolute insanity.
They don’t want people to cheat because they are going to push their MTX crap. Fuck off Ubisoft.

they really want this game to destroy the franchise it seems.

I mean, it's it like I care... I mentally checked out after AC2, or more precisely after being flabbergasted at how bad AC3 was.
