Fuck em. Let’s go back to nobody’s that are greatfull to get work at all. People think they’re entitled to too much these days.

Edit: oh, they didn’t tell the performers what the parts entails? Yeah, that’s just bad on the them.

True, I feel there needs to be transparency with something like that and right now, the game industry seems to treat the actual story, acting, plot etc almost as this afterthought, it must be as professional as television and film cause this is the type of money its costing to even create theses games to be loosely doing this type of shit.

So I feel, like film and television, an actor should be told if the game will have them nude or having sex or something like this, cause they wouldn't be doing this shit if it was a film.
Just getting ready to defend Last of Is Part 3 actors.
lol yessssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some guy is going to walk on the motion capture set like

"Ok, so today is the scene where I start kissing her in the abandoned mall"? - Some Guy

"him" - Neil

"Wait, huh?" - Some Guy

"Ok, ACTION" - Neil

maybe im out of the loop, but when you audition for the job do they not tell you there will be some adult scenes that would be required? Did she take the job knowing this? Did you take the job and decided later to complain? I do agree if she felt weird about everyone watching her they could have addressed that, but people need to ask questions about their roles before taking the jobs.

The video game industry's obsession with secrecy is cringe and dumb - that said, acting is about stepping outside yourself: taking on the role of a serial killer, a space marine or a merciless dictator. Seems to me we're increasingly reaching a point where the actor and the character are one in the same.

To be fair, most of these "actors" never had sex before so I can understand that they don't know how to act.
U would be surprised how much sex those young and "innocent" girls have nowadays, some of them hit 50 bodycount before 20yo and almost none have lower bodycount from their age on avg, unless super ugly cave troll (say 3/10 or below in looks)or girl that had traditional upbringing but even then its not so obvious, sometimes those quiet ones got numbers like john wick :p

To be fair to the snowflakes and the union's mind.. I doubt many people have had sex in a black Onesie with ping-pong balls over it. Seems they've had plenty of experience killing people mind and don't have any objections to acting out the most horrific death scenes *rollseyes*

The ping-pong balls make it quite easy to perform a kill. They add +10 strength for each ball.

They describe feeling "shaken" and "upset" after acting them out.
She refused to act out the "disgusting" scene - which was made worse as she was the only female on set.
Ms Jefferies was consulted by Equity in the development of their guidance

'Incredibly uncomfortable'

"It was excruciating... at that stage I had been in the games industry a while, and I had never felt so shaken".
avoiding harmful vocal stress

This sounds like an utter nightmare. I hope she is OK now and does not suffer from the traumatic experience anymore.

Joke aside, it's fine for video games having sex scene but the making of it needs to be kept professional. It's fucked up that the actors were not aware of this beforehand.
Don’t know man. They are hired to act, not to get raped for real.

They are wearing body condoms.
Be professional about it and move on.

"This was actually a full-on sex scene," she said.
That must be western game, if it was Asian game then western game journalists would have lost their mind.

I remember when Catherine first came out people called it “porn game” even it had no actual sex or nudity, meanwhile game like Dragon Age and Mass Effect full on sex but apparently that’s okay because they were western games.

Isn’t it their job to act the character in its many aspects? Is a special warning needed if they need to act some romance? There is almost no sex in games already

There just isn't enough masochists left in the world. Get the suit on and shut up. You'll love it.

Don't make me get the paddle.

If some (unlikely it's all) of the acting talent doesn't get to know if there's going to be anything that crosses their boundaries, that would be kinda messed up. I've heard plenty of stories about how a movie actress turned down this or that role because of stuff the would have to do.

I'm pretty sure they could get hoodwinked into it more often if they didn't have agents doing negotiations and fine print for them. Small time actors probably get spit out of a talent agency, take what they can get, and walk into unfortunate surprises.

I'm willing to chalk it up as just a shitty thing that happens, though. Many actors have been put through hell in one way or another. Sometimes on the way to making something great.

I mean, if you're a team of pervy games developers and you want to hire an actress to do mo-cap for your game's sex scene, you don fucked up good if you went and picked from the crop of RADA-educated, popular movie and TV actresses (who are all probably woke as fuck).

There are literally millions of hoes on OnlyFans that would literally suck a dick for a dime and probably enjoy it. Why not pick one of those? That how this industry used to do it... i.e. they had no qualms with going straight for the pornstars.

Sure, it's scummy as hell to pick a professional mo-cap actress and put them in this kind of position. But this blowing up in the media is now literally a mess of their own making for being dumb shits. OnlyFans thots would have cost them a fraction of what they paid, would have probably made for a way hotter scene, and would have probably even promoted your game for you for free; since OF simps are very likely the game's target demographic anyway.

Yikes, if that's how it works, then yeah that's fucked up. Actors do a lot of prep, and have all sorts of rules, warning, consultations and help for sex scenes on film projects. You don't just show up, and suddenly get told 'oh yeah now please fake fuck XYZ' without warning. You'd also know what you're signing up for ahead of signing up to the project, and say what you are and aren't willing to do. Hell, even porn stars do that :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Why? Because they want to be notified upfront about scenes that might be uncomfortable to perform? Be careful what you wish for, it won't be long before AI comes for other jobs too.
Glad my job is not that easy replacable.
My problem with these people is that they try to force companies to get their way.
If they don't get what they want they turn to (social) media to shame the company with no proof whatsoever just believe me bro.
Even if this story doesn't seem farfetched they again turn to the media with their crap and there lies the problem.

I think there needs to be some common sense though. If I was asked to do performances for the Witcher 4 which is likely an 18 then sex scenes are to be expected, however if it was the next Mario then I would be shocked lol especially if I was a goomba.

If people did not “force companies” to get their way there would be no things like child labor laws. Let me ask this, why is it a problem to notify the actors upfront what type of scenes are expected? Seems like a small ask to me.You seem to be jumping to the conclusion that this is some sort of woke moment. It is not.

Imagine not saying to Sofia Boutella in advance that she need to be completely naked 2 times in a row at almost exact same time in two terrible movies for ~2 min for no reason whatsoever (especially the first time).

WTF is wrong with this industry? This is absolutely immoral and unacceptable:messenger_pouting:
How else would we get to see Sofia Boutella completely naked..? ;-)

But on a serious note, I agree that the actors need to be properly informed beforehand.

And that's why those people won't have a job in a few years how things are going.
Your child labor example is cute but this is not remotely the same.
