The game got rated in various Asian regions ahead of its March release:

As the release date approaches, the game’s age classifications have started to be revealed. In Japan, Venus Vacation Prism will get a CERO D rating (age 17 and over), a classification lower than the highest “adults-only” rating (CERO Z). However, in other regions, the upcoming game has been given the highest age rating possible. Namely, Venus Vacation Prism will be rated M18 in Singapore, 19+ in South Korea, and 18+ in Taiwan.

A recent article on Twisted Voxel delved into why the game got an M18 classification in Singapore. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has given the game this rating due to its mature themes and sexual references. In the IMDA’s official statement, the organization concludes that “Overall, the game would be more appropriate at M18, where the Classification Guidelines allow “still or moving images which may be sexually titillating (but do not contain nudity), e.g. scantily-clad women shown in a manner that is sexually suggestive, but not excessive or gratuitous.”

Approved for singapore video game market

The female characters in the game are buxomly young women who can be dressed in various outfits, including skimpy bikinis and lingerie that expose much of their cleavage and buttocks. During the characters’ movements, their breasts visibly heave and bounce

Eh, it looks impressive graphically but it doesn't quite look fun
But I guess we'll see what reviews are like
Not sure how many of your usual gaming journous in the west will review it, lol. Or are you talking about user reviews?

Anyway, I did pre-order the physical for PS5 so I'll let you know my impressions once I receive my copy which hopefully will be shortly after the official release in Asia.

After DoA 6 i have no faith in this team.
How do you get rid of Tag?
Yeah... that was a bad move. But I kinda want to still trust Team Ninja. Stranger of Paradise was a pretty good game they've done. Easily the best FF game since FF 12.

DoA 4 is still the best anyway.

By far. DoA 4 was my first console online game. And while the netcode was trash, I had tons of fun anyway.

DoA 4 had great presentation, fast gameplay, much more tricky reversals and those stages, like the bridge and The Strip, they still look ace. Fighting games didn't evolve much past DoA 4 I think. Even at 720p its still a looker, much more vibrant than its shitty sequels.

It's a shame the Xbox BC team didn't X enhance DoA 4 to 4k.

It would've been perfect.

Not to mention the challenge of bounce combos.

So the game has an English text option, but they still won't allow you to purchase outside of Asia on Steam.

The same was with DOAX Venus Vacation, but that's a F2P gacha, so it's pretty trivial to add it to your Steam account, even if it's region-locked to Asia (there's workaround posted here on this very forum :p).

For this one, it's more tricky, though, since you'll have to buy the game from a region-locked area, which means you might have to use a local payment method from the region you're VPNing to. The other option is to import a PS5 copy from Asia, like I'm doing.

I saw a few workarounds for it, but it's just stupid. As you said, with purchasing it's a whole different ball game than just downloading a F2P game.

The least painful way I've seen is to create a Singapore Steam account, buy the game with a Singapore Steam gift card, and then family share it with your US account. I don't want to do something that's gonna fuck with my main Steam account though. I literally don't know what I'd do if I lost it. They should just remove the region lock and not advertise it or something, to keep the "usuals" out of its radar.

I'm mildly interested in the game, but not enough to go through all of that. Now if it had the Volleyball still...

A friend of mine said they have a friend who got it gifted to them and they were able to activate, but I thought you couldn't do that.

Outside of that if you don't want to fuck around with Steam, easiest way would probably just use a VPN and buy it on DMM.

Yeah, I'm with you on this. The region lock was dumb when they first implemented it with DOAX3 on console, even dumber when they did it with Venus Vacation on Steam, and now they're doing it again with Prism...

Do you mean on Steam? Someone bought it in Asia, gifted to your friend, and they have it working in US/EU ?

Is there any risk to bypassing the region lock on Steam? Don't want to risk any bans.

What is DMM? edit: nvm i learned what google does :messenger_grinning_sweat:

buying a region-locked game using a VPN is actually a violation of Steam’s TOS and they will disable your account for it 😬

Not sure if they'll actually suspend/disable your Steam account, but yeah, it's something to consider if you attempt to use a VPN to buy a region locked game.

Really dumb that this is region locked. Steam has turned into an adult porn gaming platform, so why this game is not a wide release is odd.

IIRC from what people have reported, they ban you from the store, you can still play your purchased games but you can’t add anything to your library anymore, frankly it’s not worth the risk IMO

the only way to get region-locked games without risking your account is to change your region & buy them when traveling legitimately, however you can only change your region once every ~90 days so you’ll have a period where you can’t buy anything after you get back

Steam is the biggest pain to buy region-locked games from other regions, as others have said Nintendo lets you change your region without traveling & it’s fairly easy to make a separate region account for PSN (again no VPN necessary for either)
