I am not sure if that is good or bad.

I had similar thoughts too. I liked seeing Adam Jackson on the livestreams because he sounds like he knows what he's talking about and has a really strong passion for the game. On the other hand, there are a lot of design decisions that ended up in the current state of the game that doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm not sure where the disconnect here is.

I did notice something was weird with these powers, but I couldn't figure out what exactly it was and didn't feel like testing it. This is it. Season of bugs is back baby.

Update about the patch. Also, Decay Augmentation is disabled. RIP my build time to play Barb I guess.

Hello all -

We have seen the reports related to some very egregious numbers coming from a few builds/classes. The team has some fixes underway, but in the meantime we will be disabling the Decay Augmentation Witchcraft Power in the game as this is tied to some of these issues. This means players will not be able to equip the power at this time. Players can still purchase this power, but you will not receive it, so we do recommend against doing this until the power has been re-enabled.

We will be working on a fix and bringing this back to players next week. The team will attempt to see if we can do this via a server hotfix, but if we can’t get this in via a hotfix then we will look at doing a quick client patch shortly after 2.1.1 is released.

Additionally, we did want to provide a few other updates on some other class items we have seen bubble up to the top of conversations.

Necromancer: There is currently an issue with the Ring of Mendeln and its interactions with minion builds. We do have a fix for this and it is slated for 2.1.2.

Barbarian: We implemented a fix for the Mantle of Mountain’s Fury back during our first hotfix for 2.1.0. Since then, we have seen some much better results, but we have noticed there was some confusion related to Damage over Time from the quakes and the explosion damage being inconsistent. We do plan on addressing this which will result in some further strength to this build. We do want to note that we will be looking at this build and doing some balance tweaks as we start the next season.

This is just a few items we are looking and there are many more including game loading issues, client stability, and other class related items that go beyond the list mentioned above. We appreciate the feedback and everyone hopping into Season 7 to check out the new Witchcraft powers.

We will provide an update soon regarding the above after the weekend.

I knew there is something fucky with my minion build. It fell off hard going into T3. Whereas by blood spear / blood wave build is doing pretty good in T4.

Yeah, mendeln doesn't work with certain damage aspects like they should. Reanimated dead, great feast, and others, iirc.

The lead class designer for Diablo 4 is no longer working at Blizzard.

Man, I don't know what Blizzard is doing. The armory is disabled and I am stuck with my broken (in a bad way) minion build that I was messing around with after the patch. I can't be assed to manually create another build now that I can't save it. They dangled a good new feature in front of us and then disabled it after they fucked up the patch. Hopefully they fix it by the weekend.

The main character in this game looks like that fat chic from disney star wars. She looks exactly like her. They obviously were trying to appease some reddit people. Wonder how much money it earned them.

Yeah, maybe if they had leader boards plus more stuff to do than pits at endgame. I miss the Rifts in Diablo 3 with quick matchmaking.

Yup. There are so many good D3 features that weren't included in D4. So odd. I wish they could have expanded the leaderboard concept with guild-leaderboards, given the increased focus on social play for D4. It would be super cool if we could see which guild is the first to beat Uber Lilith, or the first to clear Pit 150, or the first to have 3 members at Paragon 300. Oh well.

It's back now. Hopefully it didn't yeet your saved builds.

Do my eyes deceive me? After this latest patch a few days ago HDR looks sharper to me...
No, you are correct imho.

Before that patch I could not run HDR on my LG and now it isn't perfect but it is much better, less washed out. IMHO they sneaked a little graphics fix in there. I'm playing on PS5 Pro. Whole game looks better around the edges on Pro to my eye since that patch.

I thought I was going crazy because no one else mentioned it anywhere, but I noticed that shit immediately.

Exp boost event again next week. Honestly, they need to be more creative with these things.

Blessings Aplenty: Earn Gift of the Tree Caches

The Tree of Whispers influence has grown as of late, gnarling their roots in search of their lost Fugitive Heads. From February 18–February 25, while Mother’s Blessing is active, whenever you return your Grim Favors, you’ll also receive an additional Gift of the Tree cache. Its contents—a Collection of Chaos cache—are as unpredictable as their namesake, enjoy the many items that lay within.

In addition to your bonus Caches—while Mother’s Blessing is active—all players will earn 35% experience and 50% Gold at a (multiplicative) increased rate. Lilith blesses all her children, as this bonus applies to both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, and all World Tiers. This bonus stacks, so pair it with Elixirs and the Urn of Aggression to maximize your experience gains while killing Monsters.

I haven't played since season 2. How much will it cost me to catch up?

No I mean is there expansions I need to buy?
I have been thinking of playing again but feel maybe at this point I am too far behind.

Oh, there is the one expansion called Vessel of Hatred. It is not necessary, but you will not have access to the new Spiritborn class, runes, and the new expansion story.

In my opinion, you shouldn't buy it at this point in time. If you're curious, play the game again. If you like it enough that you are still playing after 10 hours, then maybe the expansion might be worth a buy when it's on sale.

There is no "too far behind". No one is measuring progress. You can choose yourself how hard you want the content to be when you choose your difficulty level. I'm not really sure what you mean when you fear you might be too far behind, but from the perspective of someone who has played this game for many many hours, that statement doesn't make sense.

I guess I mean, I am somewhat of a completionist; so it bothers me that I don't have anything completed after season 2. Thus hard to go back.

Oh, well that doesn't really matter because you can't redo any of the content from previous seasons. Each season is one and done. The seasonless "eternal realm" doesn't have any seasonal mechanics in it, but it persists forever. Seasonal characters get transferred to the eternal realm whenever a new season starts.

Did any content after the first season stack?
Meaning is there any kind of advantage you may have playing the seasons in their entirety other than cosmetic?
I.E. I know i don't have to do the campaign again.

Nope. You don't get any advantage from playing earlier seasons because the seasonal stuff resets every season.

The persistent content that has any relevance to you progression would be things like campaign status, renown, and altar of lilith stuff, but that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things whether you did it last year or tomorrow.

I started toward the end of last season for the first time. It's been a blast. I have over 80 hours played, got first char to like 110 paragon before the patch. My current flurry rogue is about 150 paragon and can easily clear up to maybe Pit tier 60(I have done a bunch of 50s and they are super easy now but haven't pushed in a few days so I'm not sure).

The game is super easy to get into as a casual and really has given me some good fun. At first I was a little disappointed in the spam all the buttons gameplay but as time has gone by I've began to look at it more like a management sim and IMHO it has been a blast. Great game. Hard to dock it for anything at the moment.

Risking a double post but this helped me out a lot.

Alters of Lillith, don't do them!

Instead, for some reason, I had two level 50 boosts on the eternal realm. Taking even 1 of those gets you all the alters for free and it DOES also count for seasonal, so no need to ever collect them again if you get a level 50 boost.

How to get the boost? I'm sure I don't know. I think it came with the base xpak. I only bought the most basic xpak license and the season pass for 10 bucks and I had 2 boosts. You have to take them on the eternal realm so you can actually skip that annoying Alters of Lillith collection.

Saved me so much time, so I need to say it here, lol. I had started collecting them on seasonal and discovered the boost. Hype! I read some confusion online saying they only counted for the eternal realm...but NOPE, not for me. They are already collected in the seasonal as well, they all appear on my map and are greyed out. I cannot get them again. They are 100% got from just one boost on all characters including seasonal!

Oh yeah I forgot about the welcome back booster.

Return to the Eternal realm and wield your newfound power with incredible fervor, wanderer.

Raise an Eternal Character to new heights by using the Welcome Back Booster.

You can select 1 Character on the Eternal Realm to instantly grant the following boosts:

  • Boost to Level 50
  • 3 different powerful builds to choose from for your given Class
    • Full set of Legendary Items
    • Completed Skill Tree to suit chosen build
  • All Altars of Lilith unlocked
  • 1 million Gold, 1000 Obols, 1 Scroll of Amnesia, and Crafting Materials
To boost your character, travel to the tavern in Kyovashad with the character of your choosing and interact with the Fated Reliquary inside to unlock. Note that if your Eternal character is already Level 50, you’ll still receive the Legendary items and option for the builds geared towards your class. If you also own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, you’ll be able to harness this powerful boost for two characters on the Eternal Realm. Note: this does not apply to Hardcore characters.

Vessel of Hatred

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Bloodhorn boss at the end of the Forgotten Remains dungeon could become unkillable when transitioning to the second phase of the encounter.
  • Fixed an issue where Portable Anvils created by a Scroll of Forging could prevent interaction with other interactable objects if placed near one.

Base Game

Season of Witchcraft

  • A new Nightmare Dungeon Affix has been added to guarantee a Forgotten Altar Spawn. This affix will only be an option on Nightmare Dungeon Sigils for the remainder of Season of Witchcraft.
  • Dorian the Raven, introduced in Season of the Witchcraft, has welcomed you to his unkindness—you may now pet him.
  • The tooltip for Decay Augmentation has been adjusted from referencing "Effects" to "Powers" to clarify that the Decay Augmentation specifically works off Witch Powers and not anything modified by a Witch Power.

Miscellaneous

  • The change in Patch 2.1.1 that prevented movement while channeling the Druid's Lacerate skill has been reverted.
Developer’s Note: We have heard feedback about how this change limited the desired functionality of Lacerate. The change has been reversed and we’re considering further improvements for Lacerate in the future.

Bug Fixes

Accessibility

  • Fixed an issue where the Social filter button was not read by the Screen Reader.

Season of Witchcraft

  • Fixed an issue where the Counter didn’t properly display Harvest Whisper progress.
  • Fixed an issue where Hex of Whispers cleansed active Ritual effects from a Roothold encounter.
  • Fixed an issue where the Unique Coven Crate did not always grant a Unique Item.
  • Fixed an issue where the reward Cache for finishing Chapter IV of the Season Journey incorrectly stated that it would reward a Scroll of Restoration.
  • Fixed an issue where the Season Journey objective for earning 750 Aether in a single Infernal Hordes run would not be achieved if the final amount of Aether earned was through an Infernal Offer.
  • Fixed an issue where the Season Journey objective for defeating Lair Bosses while in a party would reset after defeating a Lair Boss while not in a party.
  • Fixed an issue where Exposed Roots could rarely fail to spawn during Shepard bounties in Headhunt Zones.
  • Fixed an issue where the Headhunt HUD timer would not be removed if the player teleported into Infernal Hordes from a Headhunt Zone.
  • Fixed an issue where monsters could spawn in towns near an active Headhunt Zone in certain circumstances.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where the Unique Power roll for Fractured Winterglass, Malefic Crescent, and Arreat's Bearing did not benefit from Greater Affixes, and could roll lower than expected.
Developer’s Note: This fix will also retroactively apply to existing instances of these items.
  • Fixed an issue where the impact warning visual effect for Ashava's Slam attack did not display properly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Druid’s Wolves were not applying Fortify with the Ferocious Wolf Pack upgrade.
  • Fixed an issue where the damage from Ring of Mendeln was not properly scaling with all of the bonuses that it should.
  • Fixed an issue where completing a Pit run within a certain time that should count for unlocking additional Pit Tiers did not unlock the expected number of Tiers.
  • Fixed an issue where one Echo attack could immediately follow another in certain scenarios during a Pit boss encounter.
  • Fixed an issue where Echo of Lilith could repeatedly use her Death from Above ability if Staggered immediately after she landed.

User Interface and User Experience

  • Fixed an issue where the icon on an item denoting it's a part of an Armory loadout would persist on items even if they were no longer part of a loadout.
  • Fixed an issue where items could not be marked as Favorite or Junk if they were part of an Armory Loadout.
  • Fixed an issue where Party Finder listings for the Pit or Undercity of Kurast appeared joinable while the activity was in-progress.
Developer’s Note: These listings will not be automatically delisted when a run is in progress but can’t be joined during an active run.
  • Fixed an issue where entering a space in the Character Name field could cause the field to malfunction.
  • Fixed an issue where bonuses to Minion Damage did not appear correctly in the Character Stats Window.
  • Fixed an issue where the first input when playing on controller would not function in the Modify Items section of the Wardrobe for Necromancer, Druid, and Sorcerer.
  • Fixed an issue where Gems could appear as unsalvageable in the Salvage menu.
  • Fixed an issue where the Modify Pigment button in the Wardrobe did not function properly in certain scenarios.
  • Fixed an issue where the tooltip for Barbarian's Aggressive Resistance did not update as it was upgraded.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue where the player would be charged currency twice for opening a portal to the Pit.
  • Various stability, performance, visual, audio, and UI improvements.

yup. you can tell when they're forcefully making characters unattractive.

so I swapped to the blood wave build because all of the buggery surrounding the minion build and Mendeln ring, and I do have to say the ass clap (because to me the character is clapping its ass cheeks to summon the wave) build is unbeatable holy moly

That build is stupid OP. I'm not sure what they were thinking because they nerfed Spirit Wave Necro for being OP and then replaced it with something even stronger. It doesn't make any sense.
