Would be strange to see Secret not even make it to the playoffs, although there performance since the majors hasn't been great.

If Secret don't win this game then they deserve to be knocked out. This does not look like a good draft for going against a PL.

Don't bother with attack speed I think, most of your damage will come from the orb, and it has a 4s CD
Movespeed, tankiness, annoying auras. SnY, shiva's, maybe radiance, that kinda shit

With 0.9 agi gain of course any attack speed is alright but I wouldn't focus on AS too much on him
Just keep your enemies close and burn the shit out of them, throw the orb on CD to destroy carries/tanky heroes

certainly seemed that way.

really looking forward to seeing what new heroes emerge in this patch. players were largely on 6.85 comfort picks for this event. Let's see what's the hotness in February.

I'm surprised we haven't seen any Elder Titan yet. Already strong but underrated, and his ult just got a nice buff.

I'm kind of surprised at the total lack of adaptation by secret today. Maybe they weren't able to play any pubs at all? Honestly I think the best way to approach a new patch being dropped on your head like this is to act like the game is pretty much perfectly balanced and just pick strats and heroes people enjoy, preferably not the same one you've been using for months. Between the curveball you're throwing your opponent and the fact that your team is -- in theory -- enjoying their hero, I imagine they'd see a lot of success.

I really don't think ET was strong before, but his ult is definitely very strong now. I think if the 5 man wombo combo strats return he'll be picked up by certain teams, but not much outside of that.

played ranked twice new patch, was radiant both times and my team totally fell apart both times because they didnt adapt to the new jungle layout

new jungle lay out for radiant is actually so easy to use. It feels way more natural. that change by dire secret shop fucks me every time, though. chasing people in there feels awkward as hell.

I got confused finding golems when coming from the bot rune spot to the jungle and going left
Also the hard camp closest to the fountain for radiant was moved quite a bit wasn't it ?

I dunno, I think we're still in an era of agi carries, so Natural Order becomes very strong. A 50% max HP ult (and a rarely picked but potentially interesting 6 second AOE disarm) is huge in any kind of teamfight. It can be tricky to land is the only real drawback.

hm... that's true. And actually this patch feels way bigger for hard carries, so maybe he'll see something of an anticarry role this patch. Spirit still feels really weak, though. Maybe a support duo like ET/Shaker with Slardar or some other stunbot physical damage offlaner and a relatively autonomous carry to free them up for roaming.

Yeah, exactly. Just get the point in spirit for the rare stomp or nuke in lane, and then use him as an aura.

Offlane magnus might actually be a pretty good partner. Ult synergy and synergy with strong physical damage carries.

I think this hints at his bigger issue. His kit is good but he's hard to lane. He's reasonably item versatile I think (doesn't really need too many but can make good use of whatever he gets) but he does need levels. Solo offlane feels most natural (once he gets a soul ring he can use spirit for last hits, and spirit's damage boost also means he can usually trade harass efficiently) but does he offer the most of any solo offlane? Slardar is probably a better option.
