Anyone test it with PC? Does it have any software support like being able to update firmware and map buttons?

First Elite controller came out in 2015 and even though I am getting this Edge I agree with you they should have at least equaled the Elite 2 in some areas like 4 back buttons

I am only getting this controller for shooter games to have the back buttons and trigger stops but honestly it still wont top the Elite 2 for me though the Elites are usually junk and have to replace the bumpers in mine to something thats not cheap plastic
My right bumper (RB) requires two taps to register anything. I only used two paddles on the back though, I did try getting use to all (I set it up so I could reload/slide and jump/grenade in Destiny) but I would revert back to the face buttons for reloading and jumping so mostly two it was.

I only ever used two back buttons on the Elite 1 and 2. I actually like that it has two buttons like the back button attachment. Less clutter.

I do agree in the state about the 8bitdo. I love both my pro 2 and Ultimate. Probably the best value for controllers ever and if it ever comes to the point where they release a PS5 version which I doubt, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

With that said, I’m looking forward to this controller. The SCUF is just wonky and while it served it’s purpose for me, I am happy to finally replace it with the Edge.

"Replaceable stick modules use drift-prone joystick tech".

Unacceptable for £200!

What is the actual battery life?
4-6 hours

I will probably reconsider Edge if that happens or if it goes on sale. I do love back-buttons, but I'm not seeing a good value in Edge at $200 right now.
For sure not a good value but I will use those trigger stops and back buttons a lot

Watching my orders now waiting for them to switch to shipped :)

I'm referring to the entire thumbstick module. That is a key feature of Edge.

Yep. I'm not paying $200 for worse battery life.
what's the difference with the whole module to the thumbtack? does it make it feel any different or something?

When the main complaints are the price you know it's God tier.

Buying 2 after testing the first 🥇
Well it bloody well should be for that price, should’ve really had hall sticks and a better battery at the very least.

It’s far too expensive, there’s no other way to twist it.

Elite 2 is literally the best controller and the worst piece of ahit ever made at the same time.

My favourite controller but an absolute joke in quality control. I've literally had around 6 or 7 elite v2 controllers. Luckily all swapped under warranty but that is an absolute joke when you think about it.

The QC is terrible on those controllers and still my favorite controller.

Once I upgraded the bumpers I have had zero issue out of either of my current Elite 2

But like you I have had a lot of issues with Elite controllers mainly bumpers breaking and buttons sticking but so far no stick drift

But maybe my controllers didn't even last long enough to get drift.

Mines always my bumpers failing. How did you update them?

I’ll buy one down the line on sale or something, £120 is the most I’d be willing to pay.

More than triple the price for basically some back buttons and a carry case is obscene (couldn’t care less about the trigger stops).

Buy a couple of hall sticks and you’re likely in for over $300.

No worries plus I have 2 controllers coming and when Gamestop gets them I will buy 2 more if I like it enough because I get so much free Gamestop credit every year

Kind of interested to see if Sony handles my 2 orders any differently as one was ordered with my main account that has PSN Premium and the other just ordered without putting in any account info

I want a controller with a battery life that I barely have to think about. As it stands I prefer to play multiplatform games on my Series X over PS5 because the damn controller never lasts a play session... and this being WORSE at $200!? No thank you. That's just so freaking stupid.

I got the PDP pro bfg controller in on Thursday. It is $20 bucks cheaper and has an incredible amount of customization available for the pad. I would consider this very niche hardware. I should get the Edge in sometime this week as well.

I don't need a dongle for the Edge (the bfg controller requires one to work wirelessly with pc/console) but I am looking forward to giving them both a go to see which I like better (assuming the bfg gets the win here).
Can you map 2 buttons to 1 paddle?

Complaining about price point is such a weird thing to do when it comes to gaming (for most of us, not all of us) — which is a luxury — where most of us have spent upwards of $500+ on our gadgets. Sure, what the product offers feature wise may not be what you want, but being surprised by price alone is a bit of a weird take.

Ignoring that most of us have huge backlog of games that we haven't played. Something you can only do if you have 'disposable' income.

It's the same thing "they" do when "they" talk about PSVR2 also. Yet they have the latest $1200 Nvidia GPU on the PC that "they" are typing their previews and reviews of other pricey products.

Yeah, I don't get it. It is really strange. Now I am not personally into PSVR2 or VR so I stay out of any conversation regarding it — price is the last thing on my mind about something I don't have a high interest in.

And Sony continues to target the whales with its terrible pricing. They so very desperately want to be Apple.

Not just worse, half. But you won’t need to worry about the battery, because it will be plugged in with the glorious 9.1’ braided cable.

Guys I think you’re all missing that not only has the battery life not improved, it’s literally halved. Half. According to IGN’s two reviews:

10-13 hours for the DualSense
4.5 to 5.5 for DualSense Edge

I thought it would be bad but HALF? Holy shit.
Not sure what IGN is smoking. I haven't ever had more than 6 hours on my DS4 nor DS5.

Buying this is like screaming that you need someone else to handle your money for you.
Not even remotely close and sorry if $200 is too much money to spend on a controller for you but shit I spend more money on a good steak on South Beach when my wife and I go out

Respect to you but that just seems odd to me. I'm not without funds, I just can't see wasting money like that. I love good food, but shit I spend half that if I take the family out for fine dining and we all eat lobster and I get a scotch.

I get that I have just been fortunate in life and was able to retire near Miami so its more about the location than anything else

Just saying if people are buying this controller and not getting food for the family those people do need someone else to manage their money but not everyone buying toys like this need money management

Fair enough. I hate sunny areas, so I ended up retiring to Maine from Seattle. I'd have a hard time finding a 200 dollar steak anywhere here lol, though the lobster prices have gotten crazy. My father used to live in Tampa, so I'm fairly familiar with Florida. I hated Miami as a city, but I've told my wife that it's probably the best spot for food in the whole country. Unbelievable quality of restaurants there, and they're on every fuckin corner man haha. We're thinking of doing Florida for vaca this year, any must hit restaurants for us?

Like you say literally anywhere in the Miami area has amazing food joints and some of the best food comes from some of the most obscure looking places.

Prime 112 is a great steakhouse and probably one of my favorites

10+ hrs on the Dualsense? I have never gotten even close to that on either one of mine.

I really even like their wired Xbox controller
I really wish MS would allow select 3rd parties to make controllers for them, I love my 8Bitdo sn30 pro+.

Sony really doesn’t care about battery life, they never have, I’m not sure where they keep finding these garbage batteries, it’s all about profit for them I guess. I remember trying to find 3rd part extra capacity batteries for my DS4 it was a nightmare of scams that put old DS3 batteries into slightly bigger plastic casings and selling them as high capacity batteries when in reality it was lower than standard DS3 batteries.
