We need that mod from KCD1 which shows which side quests are time sensitive, as majority are not, but a handful are and the game doesn't say which ones. Some are obvious and other less so.
Just got a pretty bad end to a side quest in Kuttenberg map, cause it took me too long to get to it.

Just got to Kutenberg Region.

The game has been great, BUT this game really is only great by the "sum of its parts" and not by any individual thing it does.

Without elaborating, I'll just say the game has improved on many of KCD1s issues, but I REALLY hope they improve the games cinematic presentation, if there is a 3rd game.

Otherwise, I've been hooked! (y)

Warhorse has said that they are releasing official modding support in the future.

I'm thinking we're going to see all the top mods offered from KCD1 and much more with this game.

Very much looking forward to another playthrough in a year's time when all the DLC is out as well as more mods.

I have no problem with you holding that opinion of course. But I find it a bit odd since I could probably go on and on in detail about things that clearly makes this game stand out in it's genre these days.

A few headlines:
The RPG framework
The writing
The rich story
The sandbox
The setting
The characters
The meaningful choices
The open world
The progression and character development
The no level scaling
The dynamic world
The amount of good voice acting
The economy system
The graphics
The lack of magic
The skill system
The optimization
The attention to detail
The boobs

Even if you don't agree with all of these, which is fine, I can't see how it's even possible to say that no individual parts of this game is great.

That's what I mean.
All of those things make the game great, when they're working together, as a whole.
However, in my opinion, the vast majority of that list aren't "great", by themselves.

I'm saying that some of the features in the game are notably improved, while others are simply expanded upon, but some things like the cinematics quality (especially the pixelated FMVs), scene directing (important introductions just... happen with no build up), and robotic dialog animated conversation that are only minorly improved, in comparison to KCD1.

I'm just a bit underwhelmed by some things, even though clear improvements have been made, in other areas.

Of course, I understand this isn't a big budget game, so my expectations should be measured.

Did they explain in the first one why Ikaris lost his powers? I did miss that. I been playing this Richard Madden: The Game hoping to play as Ikaris but is more like a very realistic human medieval era excellent game.

Jokes aside (but he looks like Richard Madden for sure) this game looks, feels and plays fantastic. Very immersive with all the do it yourself gameplay. This guys should make the next Skyrim
I’ll never understand gamers that are saying that developers doing something very well and unique on their own creations should work on others people’s IPs. It happens very often and only serve to show a profond and worrying lack of imagination imho, as well as intelligence.

This is one of the best open world games to ever come out. It’s basically what I would expect an Oblivion era Bethesda to make today. Blows my mind it looks better, plays better, has more reactivity than Starfield - and barely any loading screens, for a fraction of the budget. Crazy.

I just got to kuttenberg too and it’s one of the most realistic cities I’ve ever seen in a video game.

I thought exactly the same haha!

My clothes are falling apart, I've been caught twice eating someone else's soup cause most of my food got spoiled (had to pay the fine), and finally I got killed by a friggin wolf/dog losing 1hr of gameplay. This one was the cherry on the top. Medieval life sucks!

I am liking the game, acting is great, dialogues too, you can see they put so much care into it but damn, I played 2 hrs and I achieved nothing. 40 minutes were only spent in collecting belladonna, which is a challenge inside the challenge, since this fucking plant is tiny and extremely hard to spot.

Got absolutely steaming last night with the Cumans.

Actually laughed out loud a few times, especially when Henry was trying to translate for one of them with the hooker he fancied and the dog bit later on.

Great stuff. Killer hangover today though.

27h, 1 quest done.
I have uncovered the first map by now and just discovered a big patch of Belladonna (~16pcs) near Troskowitz, yes!
A single Belladonna found and marked some days ago has already regrown, so no shortage of this Kraut anymore.
Bought a couple of books to study at night and happily brewed Savior Schnapps all day.
At this point, I don't even mind the shitty close-up vegetation-models anymore.
I enjoy the beautiful vistas from afar and let it be :messenger_grinning:

Don't kill them, you'll see them in the 2nd region.

Literally took days for my Henry to sober up after that quest.

I'm looking for my dog and I don't plan to go to the wedding for now. The wolves at the beginning of the game...
So I follow the green mark and I hear a man crying on a tree attacked by wolves, sure I help you man. After many attempts no way I'm killing these three wolves so I leave him there like a bitch.
I reach a small village where someone tells me to go find a shepperd that maybe has some info about the dog. The shepperd gives me a carrot and a sheep then asks me to kill two wolves and a pitbull lol. Maybe tomorrow.
This will be a very very long game for me but I'm patient :messenger_bicep:

Let the wolves attack you and parry them. Then get one hit in. Rinse and repeat.

Go back to the ranch where you got the quest for the man in the tree. There is an archery range there. Equip everything until you are over encumbered and start shooting. If you can brew a Henry Fox do it but you likely can’t unless you have been brewing potions like i did for the first 15 hours of the game.

You will upgrade a lot of different skills very fast that way. It will make killing wolves easier.

Man, PC gaming is such a pain in the arse sometimes.
After ~10 minutes of gameplay, I always got some strange micro-stutter.
The culprit was the Bluetooth connection of my Xbox-Controller.
Using an Xbox wireless adapter solved the issue.
Didn't have this problem with other games like Helldivers 2 or Dragon Age Veilgard.

I found like 100 bellandonas near tacov. There is a sheep farm south west of tacov. Go to the forest west of that and you will find dozens of them. If not well over a hundred. I had so much that after 30 minutes of brewing save and henry fox potions, i got sick of it and dried them all. got 80 in my inventory still. i dont think i will ever need belladonas again.

if you still cant find it. i will take a screenshot the next time i play and update this post.

i always plug in my ps5 controller. bluetooth on windows is such a pain. ds4windows was better at detecting bluetooth connections than windows' own drivers, but id always forget to start it and then if it pairs with the windows, the controller is unusable on the ps5. so i just plug it in and have no problems.

the game did begin to have performance issues yesterday randomly. especially after fast travel, but then go away after i play for a while.

Guys is the game doable without fast travel ? I absolutely love the first game but the back and forth between Rattay and Sarsau was tedious at the end of the game as quests consistently send you to one or the other

I'd say you're lucky to finally get fast travel, everythings so far even with a horse eventually

Yeah, PS5 controller via USB works just fine for me as well.
Thing is, I was using my trusty 360 Controller with the bundled proprietary PC wireless dongle for more than a decade without any hassle, but it's incompatible with the MB of my new PC I assembled last year.
So I bought the latest XBox controller without a wireless dongle 'cause Microsoft doesn't sell or bundle it officially anymore (for whatever reason) and thought Bluetooth will be fine, MS certainly know what they are doing! Well, here we are :messenger_beaming:

Stealing is wild man. What am I doing wrong, I steal and escape... Not a soul around I run around town and things are fine then a notice says people deduce I stole and I've been reported.. Very frustrating I want to enjoy the thieving aspect but it doesn't seem like you really can, are there ways to avoid that?

Spending too much time in the first area will cause burnout in the second area because there are a lot of quests. I had to take a break before finishing the game

If you were stolen in real life you’d noticed, even if you did not see the thief. Now try to picture the situation where you have been living in the same village for years and years, knowing everyone. All of a sudden a stranger comes in, with different habits, dressing and culture than you, and it coincides with you being suddenly stolen. What would you think ?

only ever had that issue in the first village. I was thriving though trosky castle and now in kuttenberg without any issues.

For those not there yet - Breaking out Hans will set out a series of events similar to The Wedding, where you'll see/interact with all manner of characters you would already know from multiple side quests all over the map!

Metal Gear level of cutscenes too...

I recently started playing KCD1 for the first time and I'm hooked. So immersive. Glad I'm late to the party with 2 out now and the general consensus being that it's even better.

After finishing 2 I've gone back to 1 and I'm enjoying it so much more now than when I first tried. 2 really is a true sequel where they just built on everything they had.

I'm so happy to have more kcd to play as well as seeing these places they reference a lot like Rattay, Pirkstein, and Uzhits.

ALSO holy fuck they made the right decision getting a real voice actor for Godwin in 2 lol just finished the quest where you meet him in 1 and I would have enjoyed his sections in 2 WAY more if I had known he was a recurring character

It’s absolutely brilliant and they should develop the next Skyrim. Why? Because this feels like the natural evolution from an old Bethesda game.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Loving this game. 70 hours in and barely scratched the surface of the 2nd region. The thunderstone quest was super fun and a nice way of "forcing" the player into exploring the region.

They should try and make the KCD story into a movie or something. I swear, all that segment between the wedding and arriving at the 2nd region was more entertaining than any movie I've watched recently lol.

Did anyone else experience that "follow path" with a horse stopped working? The prompt doesn't even show up in the UI.

(I'm on the Kuttenberg map now btw)
