Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Tomb Raider was released worldwide physically, if it's LRG then it obviously didn't sell that well.

This is a lot less ambitious of a project than the TR games it seems.

Some of the reviews out also complain about bugs and glitches.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.

To be fair TR had them as well, although I'm interested about SR2 as that was a PS2 so I'm curious what enhancement there are

So far it's pretty good for SR1.

-The voice work and music quality is excellent.
I can hear the slightest bit of distortion in the voice work (and i mean it's next to nothing).
The music has been cleaned up really well. Bass is thumping. Mids and highs are fine.

-Textures are good for the most part.
The character and object textures are really good. Fine job (y).
The environments could have used a little more work. It's just showing it's age
But then it would have been encroaching on creative licences to hide certain imperfections. (tbh I wouldn't have minded if they played with it a little)

-Gameplay is exactly the same.
Added interaction symbols to make it more obvious to the player. Good shout.

That is my very nit picky review.

Gonna wait for Physical Steelbook (hopefully like TR)
I am interested but I ain't double dipping this time.

Just bought it on Steam. I'm completely flabbergasted as to why there are no graphic setting options. I'm playing on my Surface Pro 11 and I get over scanning issues. I'm forced to change my desktop resolution to 1080p. So odd.....

The AI upscale on the SR2 intro seems... very off. Other than that seems like a very straight remaster, I wanted a straight forward way to replay these games and this seems to be it, the lost levels part is nice but I'd like it to be more fleshed out, like more commentary other than just the summary before starting it. Would be cool if it had something like the HL2 commentary.
Played SR1 all the way up to Melchiah and the Kain santuary fight and SR2 played a bit until the end of the Stronghold, nothing too outlandish to report.

I'm not sure the new in-game map makes any sense. When you start it shows you up at the top, in the north. Once you reach the first portal, which is like a 500m jog, it says you're at the very bottom, in the south.

Currently I have mixed feelings about this. 21:9 and high FPS support is nice and all, but if you're on PC I actually prefer the emulated PS1 version. The old visuals suit the horror atmosphere and Raziel looks more creepy.

It's still a good thing you can enjoy this brilliant game on a modern console, though. Or on the Steam Deck without fiddling.

Some of the reviews out also complain about bugs and glitches.
Yeah. For instance, it has native DualSense support and yet the developers opted default for Steam Input on PC, making the game think you're using an Xbox controller and showing respective prompts.

If you disable SteamInput with the DualSense it works. However, tutorial button prompts tell you that digi pad up is locking on enemies while it's actually R1.

Isn't there a kind of old/new graphics switch like TR1-3 Remastered ?

Oh, yeah, there is. I was just meaning to say that if you're playing on PC and prefer the old graphics there's little (not none, though) incentive to buy this if you've access to the PS1 (or even the old PC) version.

The original PC version of SR1 was an absolute ballache to get working on modern systems and required heavy modding. This has achievements and cut content. I prefer the Dreamcast version over the PS1 one personally due to it being at 60fps, this version lets you play with the original PS1 assests with an unlocked framerate. It's the definitive version imo.

Gamers have to realize games from different decades all have certain ways to play them.

At least developers are expanding options for players with different controls schemes on many of these remakes/remasters.

This sounds great! I remember the DC version also having slightly better textures for main characters.

But yeah, I see the appeal of this remaster with achievements, cloud save games, and no fiddling to get it to run; install -> play -> having fun. No emulators, no save game location issues, etc.
