Next week Will be interesting with Metal Gear. Nice to see 3DS nearly 50k.

Also Splatoon overtakes SSB and is within 45K of MK8, hang in there Splatoon - SMM is coming.

That's a pretty good launch for a DQ port

I was expecting just under 500k for DQVIII, so being near 600k is a pleasant surprise.

Roughly 5-6 weeks until the PS4 passes the WiiU launch aligned, and ~18-20 or so weeks until it does the same to PS3. Kinda crazy how much it has come back from its disastrous start

If it did 20k for Famitsu as well, Splatoon is over 700,000 copies sold according to the other tracker.

EDIT: Yep, 21,637. According to Famitsu, the game's now at 707,525 (retail + digital)

It is.

After the big chunk of games that came out earlier in the year, people were expecting less than 10K a week till MGSV but it's done well relatively.

Second, just me or is the sales of the DQ remakes steadily shrinking? :( Yes I know everything is shrinking but still.

But man Splatoon. good for them :)

It's no longer beta. That game is a F2P MMO anyway. And yes, it has IP lock. Pretty sure the DL are around 700k for both PC & PS

Those are ridiculous holds for both Youkai Watch and Splatoon.

Dragon Quest VIII's numbers are a little underwhelming, but it's still one of the biggest launches of the year.

Great numbers for DQVIII, better than expected actually. It's not really on par with other DQ remakes, but it comes after the mobile version and is the first DQ remake that is closer to a (great) port rather than a true remake.

DQVII sold on par with DQIV and DQV on DS. DQVI sold best. DQVIII is a remake but technically is nothing new - even though there are a lot of great additions. Also, DQVIII was way less popular than DQVII.

Good performance from Dragon's Dogma and Until Dawn too (which I had no expectations for).

And another Japanese game with PS4>PS3.

We've had Heavensward, now Dragon's Dogma, next up MGS V.

For reference (even if incomplete), Dragon Quest VIII on Android sits between 100,000 and 500,000 downloads. Thus, the 3DS version outsold the Android mobile release already.
