PlayStation Presents Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Special Panel at SXSW 2025 set for March 9

What’s crazy is that this is in-gameplay with those environments.

I feel like this is the first game that lives up to the promise of nanite next gen visual density in an open world setting.

I’ll be shocked if GTA6 can match in gameplay
I think Black Myth Wukong did this in Chapter 6, but it runs like absolute trash even on high-end PCs.

This delivers upon the premise of the UE5 trailer but also runs on a freakin' PS5 and not some high-powered PC, that makes it doubly impressive.

We'll see about GTA VI because I don't think they've even showed gameplay? Rockstar's budget is virtually unlimited, so I have no doubt they'll go balls to the walls as well.

Both are Day 1 on PlayStation too and likely delayed by at least a year for PC. I'm also expecting them to leverage the Pro much better than most games so far. It's insane to me that this and Monster Hunter Wilds run on the same hardware.

This is pure DECIMA flex.

Kissing is VERY HARD to animate even in pre-render. I'm speechless.

Beautiful scene and very powerful. I reminds me a bit of Trinity kissing Neo on Matrix 1 in hope to revive Neo.

So in Feb 2024 Sony and Kojima announced Physint.
Just now we learned Death Stranding is basically the future of the MGS universe.
That means Sony and Konami probably made a deal about the MGS series.
Reintroducing Snake in DS2 makes perfect sense to lead into the next MGS - Physint.
Don't know about that but something is definitely up, literally (new) Snake and Metal Gear is in this.

Come on guys, that's not Snake.
At best its a reference, along with the robot thing at the end.
Of course its not the original Snake but Kojima edited this very intentionally and chose the designs for what appears to be 2 very major parts of the story which just happen to be like the most iconic designs from MGS. Something is up, it's more than just a reference.

As someone with over 22 years in the industry, I can absolutely guarantee you that this did not happen without getting approved by Konami!
This is far far more than a simple reference! And even a simple reference often has to be approved or you quickly get laywers on your ass!

Just to give you an idea what we are talking about here - Wonder Boy has an item in the game that you can pick up - red fries with a yellow "W":

When the game was re-released the publisher was forced to remove the yellow "W" to prevent potential lawsuits from Mc Donalds.

Tons of people feel the same way the first 10 hours or so then end up loving it by the end. Not sure how much of a chance you gave it
Plenty of chance but like i said it just didn't do it for me.

The guy peaked with MGS3 and its been down hill since then. However i appreciate him even if his latter works have missed the mark for me personally.

Man, that Luca Marinelli guy is going places...

...and as a side note, this is EXACTLY why English is a tool to be exploited in non-English speaking countries, fuck man, it's 2025 and 90%* of Italians still can't speak a fucking word of it and the funnest excuse they find is that it "dillutes" their culture and/or own language, lol, LMAO even...
Ignorance passing/masquerading as "customs" and "culture", this country is friggin' doomed and the more I stay here, the more I'm starting to hate it...

Kudos to Luca, good looking guy, extremely talented and he had the foresight to - gasp - actually learn a new language as to be able to escape the professional confines/boundaries of this (small) country compared to his fellow (mostly awful and shitty) actors

Edit : * make that 99%

In the trailer, they say "deliveries have been automated." Does this mean the second game will not focus around package-delivery like the first one did? I wasn't able to get into the first game, in part because the package delivery gameplay just didn't grab me. Has Kojima dropped or at least scaled back that aspect in the sequel? I hope so.

No, you venture out into Non UCA territory

Only UCA (USA) is automated for deliveries

He isn't Snake, and Sony doesn't need any deal with Konami to put a guy with a grey bandana on their game.

It's just Kojima making a self reference.

It's not the same though, is it?
The yellow "W" could very well be trademarked. The bandana and the REX/ZEKE look alike mecha head aren't though. Even the cardboard box we saw in the cutscene of the extra mission shouldn't be trademark and this also is a direct MGS reference.

I truly hope Konami did try to get him involved back in MGS to at least do the WW2 Boss game and MG1 & MG2 remakes, but i don't know if he would go back to it. He has everything he wanted since MGS2 now with his own studio + Sony money to burn on Hollywood actors.

Copyright attorney here--what we've seen would not have legally required Konami's blessing.

Guys, it's an homage, and likely relevant to the themes (i.e., subtext) of the game. There's no indication from anything in the trailer that it's more than that.

Amazing trailer I for one enjoyed my time with DS 1, my only complaint was combat was either nonexistent or not very good, if Hideo and team can make combat fun on top of the fun exploration I think we may have a game of the year.

Not attractive, androgious look, black, female. 4x combo for DEI hiring. If LGTB, then it's the perfect DEI hiring.
Let's Go Tuberculosis?

Bald people get bonus points, cos you don't have to render hair. Don't joke about it tho, or Will Smith might OHKO you.
