yeah, been seeing those a lot - from ebay to etsy, even amazon listings now. shit's crazy.
Probably the last repros I will get. Tired of dealing with sketchy sellers and the prices are getting too high, plus having an Everdrive now renders these things kinda obsolete.

wow, is there a market for repro? i never understood the purpose behind them...
i bought a few years ago to have english translations of certain games, or unreleased US stuff (Alien Soldier, other sega channel games). the guy selling them had like a B2G1 so i ended up grabbing MUSHA, Punisher & Centy since i didn't see having the $ to buy legit copies, even at prices back then.
having long since invested in a mega everdrive, they feel a little silly...but there's clearly a market.
I'm only just realizing these are US game repros. That's usually my personal line, though i respect if you like having them on the shelf when it comes to stuff like Splatterhouse 3 or MUSHA or Centy and stuff.
I only tend to do translation and unreleased repros. Romhacks (about 95% anyways) just don't have enough staying power for me.

When the price for the original is getting too high but you still want to put a cartridge into your console to play that game.
Like buying the pocket edition of a book you want to read instead of trying to find the original edition in a thrift store or in an auction house for too much money. You could get the pdf online and put it on your ereader but you know, people like physical objects.
How so? Sub Terrania is still pretty good/cheap, but its just that Jake's on vacation or something so hes probably not here to make a post. We can definitely roll with it in his absence though.
Also yeah, when it comes to repros, stuff that didnt hit in your region or were never translated in your language is the usual goal. Those two posted are...kinda on the line of those Russian Federation Ebay auctions. Way off what you'd expect ( Pulseman, Alien Soldier, Monster World IV, Romhacks, Unreleased games, etc).
Me too. Its like yeah, new genny game, but it just kinda looks like a worse ikari warriors or something. Trailer didnt do a lot for me.Anyone else gonna buy Papi Commando? I'm kinda on the fence...

I ended up biting. I figure it'll look good next to Sacred Lines and Pier Solar on my shelf, even if it isn't that good, lol.
Yeah, I haven't tried any of their games. Somewhat interested in Pier Solar but the reception seems a bit lukewarm. Pier Solar is up for sale again via Genesis and Dreamcast on their site if anyone's interested FYI.
Played a ton of SOR3 last evening. Just me or does the game kind of stale a little after rescuing the general. It's like the main events of killing the MR X robot and then the new style of gameplay with the lift and bomb countdown are the highlight, then it just feels grindy after that. Throwing tons of enemies at you just for the sake of it. Especially the robot factory feels like a drag.
Plus that music man, I just can't get into it.
The gameplay though is amazing. I was playing it with a six button controller, and having some of the moves mapped on a button felt really great.
It's almost certainly legit, but you might as well. Easy to open US games without dealing with labels getting damaged in the process.
Can never be too safe imo
Feel like my power switch on my Model 1 Genesis is less "clicky" now. On my other Genesis turning the switch on and off produces a satisfactory click. On this one however, the switch seems to slide softly into On, while turning it off does produce a click. Haven't had any issues related to video/audio so far. Do I have anything to worry about?
Congrats! Got mine this summer! Be sure to check out the Master System library too!Yay my everdrive MD has shipped! Got a folder full of sonic 1-3 hacks I can't wait to play through
Just gotta decide which cart shell to use for it....jp or western. Hm
Should be fine, it's a fairly solid slider button on the motherboard. Probably just wear and tear.making it not click. My PAL Mega Drive doesn't click, but my Genesis does. Both work fine.

Model 1 non TMSS by far!!!I inherited a few genesis games and a controller (6 button) a little while back. Which model system do you guys recommend?
Congrats tekno! Hope you got a good deal on it man
you only need a mold and a cast-off for the latter (and in some cases the former as well)
Hipster Band said:Also, the carts were all created from repurposed Genesis boxes and carts, so they are of varying quality. Super authentic!
Yeah, but directly from the link regarding this release... Even if you're just taking sports games, it feels wrong to me.
what if they were all copies of Shaq-Fu?
I would actually say Coach K is my favorite basketball game ever. RBI Baseball is the best baseball game ever. Followed closely by Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 for PC.Always interesting revisiting old Sports games: I have a buddy at work who every time I mention my retro game hobby, he swears up and down than Ken Griffy Jr. Baseballnis the best game ever made.
Also, some of those forgotten Sports games have some real awesome music gems. Take, for example, the menu theme from Coach K Basketball
