Squid Game creator thoroughly sick of the show after wrapping S2

You can tell it was supposed to be just two seasons but Netflix have stretched it out into three, lot of padding and it ends literally as if it's a mid season break. Aside from that the first two episodes are brilliant.
I didn't realize it was a Netflix production. I had just figured it was some Korean thing they acquired rights to broadcast elsewhere.

On the one hand, wow that's one way to tweet about your show. On the other hand, it's Netflix so I guess losing teeth is believable.

Don't really care if I get a lot of flack for this but just want to say the actor playing the trans woman did a phenomenal job. All the new characters were awesome.
It was indeed an awesome character, and he did a great job at portraying her

I'm just gonna post again just to piggy back. What's up with the lack of ambiguity in media anymore? I watched Anatomy of a Fall recently and I LOVED that it concluded in such a way that it
I read an article the other day about how Netflix, Amazon, et. al. are sending notes to producers to make the shows with the mind that people are only half-paying attention to the screen. That's really where we are at now. All this stuff is being made as background noise. it's also being made for brainrotted zoomers and millennials who absolutely cannot handle subtlety and think that the characters in this media are actual people with real lives.

I am reminded of that movie "The Fault in Our Stars" where Shailene Woodley goes to Amsterdam to ask an author what happened to the characters at the end of the book. His response was like, "it's a work of fiction, it doesn't matter, retard" and he is treated like agiant asshole but really that's the only right answer.

I'm the director, okay?” So, and that, you learn -- you know, by then I'm 44, so I'm no fucking chicken. I'm a very experienced director from commercials and The Duellists and Alien. So, I'm able to, you know, answer that with confidence at the time, and say, “You know, back off, it's what it's gonna be.” Harrison, he was never -- I don't remember, actually. I think Harrison was going, “Uh, I don't know about that.” I said, “But you have to be, because Gaff, who leaves a trail of origami everywhere, will leave you a little piece of origami at the end of the movie to say, ‘I've been here, I left her alive, and I can't resist letting you know what's in your most private thoughts when you get drunk is a fucking unicorn!’” Right? So, I love Beavis and Butthead, so what should follow that is “Duh.” So now it will be revealed one way or the other.

I'm taking my time with it but is it just me or is the show missing a slightly dystopian/apocalyptic vibe like the first? I didn't realize it was missing until now.

It's more like the new characters are either going along with it or have less moral obligations, e.g. compare Thanos and his crew to anyone from Season 1 and those guys are actually jumping to be there. This season doesn't give enough time to really dive into why the characters are there outside of a couple with a few sentences here and there.

Yeah I'm finished with Episode 5 Tonight and clown music in episode 4 was ridiculous. There's no hopelessness is any of this and my Episode 5 in Season 1 I was rooting for Kang Sae-byeok (North Korean bae) the entire time, this feels like a violent Scooby Doo series right now.

Caught up with this.
It was still fun but I was a bit disappointed by the slow pacing of the opening chapters and the ending. After 3 years I was left feeling like we basically just got half a season, though at least they confirmed S3 will air this year.

They should've done it all at once, it's clear this is a mid season break. It ended soon as it got good

Yup, feels like a mid season finale.
Specially how abruptly it ends and with none of the storylines getting any closure. Usually even shows that have a big ongoing story tend to have smaller season specific story lines that get resolved.

If the expectation was that this was going to be another 2-3 years wait I'd be pissed. But since we are supposedly getting S3 this year (reportedly in June) I guess I can't be too mad.

Poor baby so sick of the multi million dollar award winning property he has had to work on twice

Sad Animation GIF by Holler Studios
I doubt he'd get much for season 1.

How is S2 faring by the way?

That's EXACTLY what we got, it feels like the creator said he'd do one more and Netflix was like "But what if split it into two?", They've been doing this shit on multiple shows recently where seasons feels like half seasons so they can claim "it's back soon! Stay subscribed!". I like the fact that we're getting shows back to back yearly again, but this feels like the monkeys paw way of doing it.
