Curious forgot Hydra's melt without Roaches to tank.

Lol those Probes melting instantly was amusing. Terminator should have taken a 3rd while he was harassing Curious' gold base.

That game was basically why Legacy of the Void needs to release soon. Swarm Hosts not spawning Locusts forever, Corruptor's not being useless after Skytoss is dead, etc.

Hopefully either Maru or Rain win this IEM. But it does seem more stacked than usual, shame about Innovation missing out. Would have loved if they sent Soo instead of Classic, at least then the replacement might have a chance of winning.

Those Taipei brackets are the most stacked I've seen in a long time for an IEM event.

Like, wtf. jjakji, Impact, Sacsri, Leenock, TRUE, Soulkey and HerO all competing for two spots and then you have HyuN, Check, Revival, DRG, and Snute competing for the other two spots.

Literally anybody in those brackets has a chance at making the group stages.

Damn shame that INno dropped out. Classic as the replacement is complete MEEEEH

When late game PvP actually happens and it's done right, it can be fun to watch. Like HasuObs vs Grubby from the first WCS Season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js993S2Lzgw

But that almost never happens. Usually it's just mid-game deathball vs. deathball into gg or one player blind counters the other and instawins.

Late game TvZ when it's bio vs Muta/Ling/Bane is hands down, no question still the best late game match up by far.

I only started watching Starcraft 2 once Heart of the Swarm came out but watching Bio vs Ling/Baneling/Muta in 90% of the TvZ's has gotten old. Mech never became popular and half the time Terran went Mech Zerg went Swarm Hosts extending the games forever. Roach/Hydra is also still extremely rare.

Even mid game PvP is more interesting to me than TvZ at this point. Yeah there's a lot of blind counters but good players like Rain scout everything (except when playing Panic, in which Panic will scout himself for you). Deathballs are one of the most exciting parts of Starcraft 2. Who doesn't like seeing 50 Stalkers/100 Zerglings/10 Thors/etc charging down someone's base? All are stoppable if you're prepared for it. Hearing someone bitch about every Protoss deathball (calling every one an all-in even if they're on 3+ bases) gets old.

Crazy ZvZ just now in Proleague.

Man, Choya and his apparently unshakable trust in MarineKing, Jesus... I was ready to just call him a sadist when he sent MK out again for the ace match. I'm glad it finally paid off though, I'm not even much of an MK fan but he really needed that win. Poor kid looked one crushing defeat away from a nervous breakdown, hopefully he regains a bit of confidence now.

Nah, only indication is still that they said they want to start the beta in the first half of 2015. I think release shortly after Blizzcon is likely because that's the end of the WCS season, but we'll see how it goes.

Creator is the one Korean that truly wears his emotions on his sleeve. Never holds anything back. Gotta love it. :D

It's actually funny because Prime vs KT should never have gone to ACE. YoDa threw his match against Stats in one of the most embarrassing ways I've ever seen for an SPL match. He played so well for the early game and then just went completely indecisive.


Also, it appears an eSports betting website is calling out a set between Dark and San in the second match of last night as being fixed.

Watching the game, it looks like San let's his MSC get killed by a single Queen around the 8:30 mark while his attention was supposedly on chasing down an Overseer in his main. It does look really suspicious that a pro player could ignore his minimap saying "your forces are under attack" for like 15 in game seconds when not much else is going on in the game at the moment. This of course slightly delayed the pressure timing San was trying to go for but he did restart the MSC right away and it wasn't anything game ending at that point, imo.

San also got his scouting Probe picked off a little too easily.

Aside from that and a couple of other questionable decisions in combat, it looks to me like Dark just outclassed San.

There's seriously so many other games that look like better examples of match manipulation. Just look at YoDa vs Stats from the very match before Yoe vs SKT. Probably one of the Pinnacle website admins just put a lot of money on San and got fucked. lol

New balance test map coming. Swarm Host changes from Legacy of the Void are coming to Heart of the Swarm!

All Swarm Host changes from Void carried over to HotS.
Redesigned from a siege-tool to a mobile harass tool.
Spawn Locust can now be used while unburrowed, but must be manually activated.
Locusts have been buffed and can be upgraded at Tier 3 to fly over terrain. They must then swoop down to the ground to engage.

Raven Point Defense Drones duration decreasing to 20 seconds

Edit: And keep in mind the spawn time for locusts was significantly longer in the Blizzcon LotV demonstration. I imagine that change will be part of the test too.

Incorporate Marauders into your bio mix and when the Banes stampede, pull all your Marines back and try to let the Marauders tank the damage.

Also, there's a custom map available that let's you practice splitting.

Stopped following Code S for a bit so I'm now just checking up seeing how Code A went. SoO got 2-0'd by Parting and Rogue to get knocked out. MMA and YongHwa by far had the easiest bracket to get through. Curious 2-1'd sOs twice to knock him out. Classic lost to Ryung 2-1 before double knockout who then got 2-0'd his next 2 matches. Flash lost to San and ByuL 2-1 to get knocked out. Zest lost to DeParture (wut) and Dream 2-1 to get knocked out. True lost to Hack 2-1 before double knockout, and Bbyong got 2-1'd by Rain and Fantasy to get knocked out.

Yes I'm talking to myself.

I just realized Nerchio and NaNiwa are competing on Saturday in a Bo5 for a spot in Premier. LOLLLLLL

The two biggest cancerous douches in the game going at it. Even if it goes to 5 games, there will probably be only one "gg" actually typed. The levels of salt and ragequit will be unprecedented.

Whoever wins, we all lose.

The only consolation is that there can only be one of them in Premier.

incorporated MMM with hellbats/tanks/widow mines. seems to work pretty well. Also, I've started playing against zerg pretty aggressively. I start dropping their mineral line as soon as I can. So far it's worked to slow them down enough that they don't get enough banelings to just run me over.

ToD is joining the casting lineup for IEM Taipei. Good to see he isn't done with the scene, just with playing SC2 competitively.

Also the prize pool for IEM Katowice will be $116,000 for SC2. Pretty nice!
