there was only one Hospital in Port-Au-Prince so it feels weird to say I am from there but I grew up in Carrefour area of Port-Au-Prince
I came to Brooklyn when I was 8 years old, so a lot of the Haiti in me is from early childhood memories

My friends dad sounds like yours. A few years ago we found out he had a whole other family in Haiti.

yeah it is more common than not for semi-successful Haitian males to live that kind of life
I grew up around Haitian women discussing that type drama on the daily, all of them are about throwing voodoo curses at the other family to keep the man, all that drama they never think about throwing him out instead
most of the time they were the other women it is weird af
I only met my dad once when I went back to Haiti in 1986, I met a lot of half brothers during my stay with him.

I fell asleep during it and never went back to try to finish it. I thought it was pretty interesting with the girl's back story but I think they went into the Film's hype too much. Did they really need a special black and white release?
