Cheeks Spread for Digital Only Future
Krumits Tale - it's my mobile time waster. Doesn't need data, and is infinitely replayable.

I don't think I really have one at the moment, but one I remember vividly is Project Gotham Racing 2 on the original Xbox in 2003. Played it for around 400 hours. That ticking sound of earning Kudos while drifting through the corners was something special. It was also my first online console game and met some great people on there. Just kept racing while talking about the most random stuff every evening.

Super Mario Land.
I used to keep my GameBoy in the bathroom as a kid, and every time I went for a dump I would play through the entire game - usually took about 45 mins.
Must have completed that game hundreds of times......

Used to play the hell out of Burnout Takedown on the ps2. Just seeing if I could beat my high score on the levels where you stacked your car into piles of other cars and shit. It was such a fun game and had a great soundtrack.

World of Warcraft - probably over 5,000 hours

Modded Skyrim - over 1, 500 hours
Modded Fallout 4 - over 1,.500 hours
Modded Oblivion - over 1,000 hours
Modded Fallout New Vegas - Over 1,500 hours
Modded Morrowind - Over 2,000 hours
Modded Fallout 3 - Over 2,000 hours

GTA V Online - Over 1,500 hours
Resident Evil Resistance - Over 2,000 hours.

RabbidsXMario. I remember seeing the previews for that and thinking "Stupid ass rabids+Mario=cash grab.

Man, I've put hundreds of hours into that sucker, playing every character, and beating it every way possible. Just sick in the head about it.

Also steamworld heist. Second one is a letdown for me compared to the first, but I'm currently playing the hell out of it.

As opposed to time on video games that wasn't "wasted"? Not sure I completely understand the assignment... but Destiny 2 and the COD franchises. The former feels like a huge waste of time as it doesn't really respect your time. The latter... well.. it was a lot of time. It was COD... and I retired when I got a random permaban in BO:CW, and zero help or explanation from support. Without the ignoble end I'm sure I'd still look fondly on playing each new entry for a couple of hundred hours.

Latest game was Hades, just finished all the achievements after like 110 hours... still maybe a little grinding to finish all the weapon unlocks... but it's a very fun game to just do a run for the sake of playing it. But the time feels a little wasted as it's a way too grindy... the whole rogue-lite thing feels like it's just another form of maxing out player engagement. The "heat" difficulty system really does elevate the post-credits grind.

Best overall time waster is still Rocket League. Get a full game knocked out from launch to exit in like 10 minutes. Endlessly replayable. Only issue is the contempt for random teammates.
I really enjoy putting on some music or a podcast, and play Civ VI as I listen.

Don't worry you'll get those other 102 achievements over your next 4,000 hours champ!

The Division 2.

I hate myself for giving so much of my time to this bag of ass but I recently quit and uninstalled it. I think how this gen has gone so far has put me off gaming for a bit.

Great game. Very unusual entry in the series, loved the themed levels and music like Egypt, and the shmup stages added fun variety. Really good for being an ugly janky first gen gb game. Land 2 is also great but just a completely different game.

Can't say I beat it as often as you though...thank goodness Game Boy didn't have a camera.

I was weirdly into Starbound for a while. I hate survival/crafting type games usually but something about that game got its hooks into me.

I've played it a lot also, great strategy game

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Skyrim is my most played game on Steam and I can't say I even like it.

It was a sort of Stockholm syndrome, I needed to beat it once and for all and pushed through the main quest but also most of the side content.

Game has it's nice things, but the combat sucks so fucking much it's unreal.

I have no idea how I have 300 hours in diablo 4
D4 256 hours on steam since early February and who knows what from Bnet before, and there is Forza Motorsport with 341 as of now for my top played stuff in recent years
But I do have an idea, clearly there is a reason to play anything, for me these are my perfect go to games for audiobook listening marathons

I have like 300 hours played in Hearthstone Battlegrounds and a ton more in other autobattlers. It's the perfect game genre to play while cooking/eating/browsing. You make like 2 decisions and then you can walk away from the computer for 3 minutes.

I feel like THPS games fit perfectly in this category. Just mindlessly having fun chaining combos in Free Skate mode. Other one could be HoMM3 in randomly generated maps, infinite fun.

Counter strike source. My first teal online game too.

I sucked at CS. Bad. But I still was struck by the modded maps, the fun times, the convos, intensity. Etc. So I played ALOT despite sucking ass.

Also Skyrim. I actually think Skyrim is bad, and the mark of Bethesda dumbing down their games and no longer caring for creative writing and quests. But hey, it had Hella mods that were easy to install so I played a gross amount of it.

It wont allow me to see the exact time I've played this game on the series x, but I have played Bejeweled 3 for an unhealthy amount of time on the 360, Xbone and then Series X! I estimate well over 2000 hours and that would be me being extremely generous!

Fallout NV with mods. Probably done every single quest the game has to offer over a 1000x by now. Yet I keep returning it from time to time.

Same with Hitman-franchise and RCT2. These games have endless replayability.
I’m right there with you. I have played every possible way and start over immediately to do another play through. Sometimes I take the long way to Vegas, other times I run through Interstate Deathclaw to bankrupt the casinos. Such an amazing game!

I have a Series X console, just want to say that I'm very glad I bought it. I like Quick Resume feature so much

Years ago, I would just run this game (Rock n Roll Racing) on a SNES emulator on my PC, mute the original music (which was great, if you played it you know), and let a music playlist play on Winamp, all downloaded from Napster clones like Kaaza. I’d do that for hours after school. Yeah, I’m that old.
