Always interested in what Don't Nod cooks up (except Life is Strange). They can certainly surprise sometimes. I hope they create something similar to Vampyr or Banishers. Cool games that unfortunately flew under the radar.

Are these really considered indie games. Dot nod has 320 employees and publishes as well.
11bit studios has 250 employees.
Team 17 has 200 employees.

None of this sounds traditional Indy.

With indy I think of:
- Braid - 1 person John Blow
- Manor lords - 1 person Grzegorz Styczeń
- Banished -1 person Luke Hodorowicz
- Fez- 2 people Fish and Shawn McGrath
- Minecraft - Notch Markus Alexej Persson
- Cave story - Daisuke Amaya
- Binding of issac /super meat boy - Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl.
- Vampire Survivor -Luca Galante
Also most roguelike games and tons of smaller games on pc too.

There are many indie games that are a multiple people but those are usually 2-30 people or something like that. A programmer, musician, designer and a few artists. 200+ employees does not sound indy at all. Yeah they may be self-published, but it no longer qualifies as traditional indy game.
I'd call all these teams AA devs without a major publisher. And even that is pushing it 200 people sounds AAA to me (not ubisoft or cod level, but still, compared to 2000s 200 people would be crazy. Especially when you consider Tes 3 morrowind was 40 people, Oblivion was 70 and Skyrim 100.)

Indie is a messy label that can refer to "A" budget games, it can refer to a style of pixel art game like "indie music" is a genre, and it can also refer to strictly self-publishing. DontNod self-published their last several games and are are taking a substantial risk in doing that. People don't normally refer to AA self-published games as indie, but they are probably risking more for independence than almost anyone. Platinum only managed to self-publish 1 crappy shmup. It's a huge deal to try and put out that stuff at AA level without any outside funding. Slitterhead is also self-published.

Agreed with you. But these developers have joined the ID@Xbox program, so those devs must associate themselves with indie?

D- show so far.

The Lonesome Guild, I'll keep an eye on it I guess. Could be good. Hard to tell honestly.

Buckshot Roullette hitting GP. Looks super bizarre.

Hotel Barcelona I've wanted for a long time. Looks good.

I do like Assault Android Cactus a little bit. This is a wild follow up. I guess I'll try it since it's on GP. Very weird looking. tempopo

D - show for me. 3 large ad breaks already, lots of abysmal games. Only not an F because it's had like 6+GP announcements at least. Balatro is a nice shadowdrop. And I like that a lot of these games are seriously fucking weird.

Tanuki looks fun. THPS mail delivery with minigames.

A large number of these games could easily run on PS3/Xbox 360.
Might as well release on those systems, too.
Need all the revenue you can get if you're an indie dev.

Should I assume that EXO is voiced by Debra Wilson?
The gaming industry doesn't seem to realize that there are other black women in the human population.
