You were right, i'll take my L. Sony done fucked up with that pricing.
Respectfully you went 0 for 2 here, don't make it 0 for 3.
Sony has all the metrics they need on how many people upgrade the storage in their PS5s. If the real price for most people of the PS5 digital is circa 600 dollars for the digital model (100-150 dollars for a 1TB expansion), what is an additional 100-150 for improved performance.
You have to look at the entire picture.
1TB is not enough and 2TB just makes sense.
This system is about generating improved margins. Sony can sell their own SSD, and cost effective performance gains fueled by PSSR.
The Pro will drop in price after the GTA6 hype and so will the base model, and a slight chance we get a sale or bundle in 2025.
In 2025, we could be look at digital for 400, base for 450, and pro for 650 or 700 and bundled with GTA6.
In 2026, I think we see the digital drop to 350, base for 400, and Pro for 600, well positioning it to compete with the Switch 2, which is going to find a hard time finding the right price.
By 2027/2028 you could see a PS5 digital at 300, base at 350 and Pro for 550.
When the PS6 launches, we're looking at 600 dollars minimum for digital, and the PS5 Pro will likely have dropped to 450-500.
