Cloud felt like a real hero in part 1.

Cloud rarely tries to be a "good guy"
and if you know the original it makes total sense for any illusion that he is to break down the more you learn about him.
He only gets cooler though

I finished FF7 Remake, yesterday. I never played the original FF7 and the first part of the remake was the most frustrating and polarizing videogame I have ever played. For every bit of gorgeous CGI or interesting art direction; there was a load of frustrating cutscenes or filler gameplay (crawling in vents, jumping chandeliers, ridiculously bad side-quests and NPC's).

I love FF7 Remake, but I also kind of hate it.

I just started Rebirth and from the get go it is already feeling a lot more fluid, the world feels better, pacing is great AND combat is drastically improved. I hope they nail it with part 3 because I feel quite invested right now :)

Having played all of Remake and currently on the Junon region in Rebirth, my worst moments are the side quests segment of Wall Market and the Intergrade DLC. In Rebirth, it's the side quest of Beck's Badasses. I liked them a lot more in Remake.

This is good to hear. I'm sure Rebirth isn't perfect, but anything is better than the Market section of Remake and some of the shit filler they threw in that was almost mandatory in order to level up.

I'm playing through Remake for the third time (ended up dropping it twice before) and will definitely finish it. I've stuck it on head start easy mode so I can blast through it. I really want to make sure I don't miss any story beats going into Rebirth.
