Is there a RUF equivalent to a 911 GT2?
Yeah it would be nice for them to release that car as DLC.schennmu said:afaik no. The RT12-S is a beast though. Not having it in the game is a bummer for me. "Standard" RT12 was amazing in PGR4. Guess Sony does not have the rights to use it.

You have Porsche, we have F1.
You have rewind, we have day/night cycles, dirt/snow tracks, real time weather, track creater and go-karts.

Oh, this. Photomode still looks good too... no idea if the PGR4 site is still up.h3ro said:I got it for $5 three years ago. To this day, my favorite racing game this gen. Burnout Paradise and F3 tied for second. Maybe you could grab one of the 4GB Slim units during all the sales coming up this week. (I believe you're in Canada, right? Do the deals apply there as well?)
One more day until GT5.

Sorry for large quote, but this is pure trolling. Way to compare off-screen vs. direct feed too. GT5 does look better than Forza 3, but don't post bullshit ass comparisons like this. If you have played Forza, you'd know the in-car view is not like this, and this isn't even close to representative of the game. The headlight comparison is much better though.
The fact that this thread has been bumped saddens me though. Reminders of a new PGR sadden me even more, unless Microsoft/Bizarre get their stuff together :(
That GTP shot is goddamn amazing. The fact remains though, that if you want to take a shot of a beemer or ANY other vehicle that close in F3 you can do it in photomode which loads in a more detailed model. The same can't be said for GT5jockamo said:When PD say it's premium it most definitely is.

Is it really? I've seen nicer headlights than that from FM3's photomode models.jockamo said:That is photomode though and it looks infinitely horrible compared to GT5's offscreen shot of the bimmer in realtime replay.
When you say "the same can't be said for GT5" I assume you mean for standard cars? If so yes zooming in on them will be horrid. Premium models on the other hand is on a whole different league.
Yeah of course I meant standard cars.jockamo said:That is photomode though and it looks infinitely horrible compared to GT5's offscreen shot of the bimmer in realtime replay.

Shaders are part of the modelskyfinch said:You need to get your eyes checked. I've created car models in Maya and the ones in Forza are well beyond GT5's standard models.
It's the shaders and lighting in Forza that are bad.

I don't see how (the top ingame one) is any better than a GT5 standard model, maybe better than the worst oneskyfinch said:I'm talking about modeling i.e, actual geometry/ wire frame.

Forza uses different models for gameplay and photo mode, why do your photomode pictures matter if the original comparison is about what we see ingame?m0dus said:The model quality is definitely there - representative shots are hard due to the horrid compression of photo mode shots. People have found ways around it by stitching them together, though.
These are some of g-rom's stitches. I believe these are done entirely with in game photo tools (ie, dof and contrast settings.) it's easy to see that yes, the model quality IS there.
skyfinch said:That's either LOD issue or a pic of the AI car.
I willing to bet that even GT5's premium cars have different LODs in place depending on the camera distance. It would be a waste of resources of it didn't.
