Genshin Impact |OT| 5.0 (Natlan) - Everything Changed When the Fire Nation Arrived

On the new weekly, can anyone reliably purify the stones to stop the meteor?

Think I've only done it once in time.

I don't even try anymore. I just wait for the meteor so I can keep hacking at the boss.
It's probably possible with lots of off-field Nightsoul damage. I think I've had the easiest time with those 'shields' with Chasca, so maybe it's the frequency of hits rather than the damage number itself.

I did during the story fight, then was able to do it once after that, don't even remember the team. All other tries were a bust. I saw videos of Chasca clearing it pretty easy.

Now I just kill him at the very start in ~7 seconds with my Mav team.

My main mav does more than my sub mav but still get to the stone purification. Guess I'll try Chasca. Annoying they put no leeway into that part...

Glad it wasn't just me.

Not sure where the complaints on the fan service are coming from. Especially with the "downgrades" during a certain part of the flower festival story.

Saw a video where western fans were saying the new character's outfit was disrespecting Japan with fan service regarding her clothes while Japanese fans were saying she was cute.

I'm surprised you have Mav and you're even getting to that phase to begin with. Even without Citlali she should be able to kill him pretty fast and phase skip.

Mentally ill western HoYo fans never make sense with their arguments. I always like the phrase "Your boos mean nothing to me because I've seen what makes you cheer" when it comes to that type of stuff. I love Mizuki's visual design. Her kit, well, yea...

That new battle event is like "did you roll for Mav premium team? Y/N (circle one)". I literally don't know how you'd beat those timers without her. Most teams would barely make 1 full rotation (including dps phase) before the timer is up. Hope it gets review bombed in surveys. Despite me having a pretty easy time with it, I don't want to see that type of thing for every new FotM DPS character.

Fuck, I need one final constellation for Charlotte to get her off-field coordinated attacks, but this is a big of a minefield banner as I've ever seen for 4*s.

Restarted imaginarium 3 times on the first round and still couldn't finish in the time limit.

I hate this mode so much.
Shit, that reminded me that I need to do my monthly run, hours before the deadline. Damn you February!

I need to do this one too, Dehya is getting a trail.

*edit*

Fucking finally got all the stars. This was probably my personal easiest one. Had the right types of team members for all of the encounters. Venti was a huge MVP in the defense stage.

Just finished the patch event content. A few thoughts:

  • Mizuki's story quest was a huge increase in quality. The animations for the characters and the domain were almost Archon Quest-tier. If you peeked during the "shut your eyes" part of her quest, they actually seemed to do mocap animation for Mizuki. It was the most lifelike that I've seen outside of a FMV. More of that please, it really helps the storytelling feel more natural and believable. I liked the theme and outcome of the story too. It was one of the best Character quests we've gotten in a very long time.
  • Inazuma festival was great. The minigames were fun and didn't overstay their welcome, the storyline was good and unpredictable, and they made good usage again of custom animations and the battle stuff. It was great to actually see Ei on screen for a big portion of the quest, and it seems that they remembered almost all of the Inazuma characters, giving them all more screentime than they've gotten in the past. Less 'nobody' NPCs and more characters you actually care about. Also Itto was very muted and not overdone as I expected he would be, which is a plus.
  • Battle minigame, I got the nameplate thing. Mavuika event, not much else to say about that. It was custom tailored to her kit and I hate that.
  • I think I exhausted all of the current open world character events. They were a really nice touch to give some low-production cost screentime to some old characters. It was nice seeing Amber and Fischl on screen again, and Noelle with her training saga was pretty hilarious. After one of her events where she's trying to train with a 1 handed sword, but keeps throwing it because it's too light - if you go into Jean's office, you will actually see the sword stuck in the ceiling. Great touch. Also Cloud Retainer's senior tour was hilarious. Not everything was a hit, but there was more good than bad, and I hope they continue these. Probably cheap to make and provide quite a bit of incentive just to see what the characters are up to.
Overall, for a "filler" patch, the quality of what we actually got was very high and I liked it a lot. Also it seems like since Citlali, they turned a corner on having the traveler have platonic friendships with everyone. This time, it seems like they made some fairly overt (for HoYo at least) hints that Mizuki, Ayaka, Kokomi, Yae, and even Ei a bit were into them. I'm guessing casuals are dropping out in player count and now they're trying to target more of the 'core' gacha/anime game audience.

Found a video clip showing the animations they used in Mizuki's quest. Kinda cool that there are actually different outcomes (slightly) if you choose to peek or not.

Sucks that there is no reward at all for getting the stars. At least give some extra mora or something.

There is an achievement for what it's worth.

Either I just stink at that mode or there's too much dependence on RNG.

I used mostly the trial versions of the starting cast for Feb and couldn't make the star time for the first round so either I just stink, too much RNG, or they need to tweak the trial characters.

It's just not worth the frustration for me for a couple hundred primos.

I'm willing to put up with the abyss because I can pick my own teams and isn't reliant on RNG. Mostly skip floor 12 because I've yet to 36 star the abyss.

Managed to get my sis to start and complete the Inazuma festival within a few hours of it ending. At one point, she got lead astray by a rogue seele and got to one of the shrines for the cleansing the sakura tree world quest from the beginning of Inazuma she hadn't completed yet. She didn't remember what to do so I had to help her.

For battle events, I understand promoting the new characters but I think forcing mechanics that rely on only new characters is a mistake.
