Denchy, sorry to be that guy but :
If there were any fake neutrality® awards in here you'd probably win the 1st prize mate.
You always try to play it neutral in one post only for you to post combative, contradicting shite in the next one, it gets predictable - not to mention tiring - after a while.

Most of the times, it comes off as incredibly bipolar at best or having a split personality at worst, it's so very transparent which side you've always leant on so please spare us the sanctimonious BS since I don't think that you could fool anyone anymore.

Sorry if I'm sounding like an asshole but you gotta stop doing this since it's been reaching gaslighting levels for a while now.

You're a good dude, just don't be like that

Cheers

nemiroff nemiroff the context is above, he tries to come across as the "I'm a Switzerland guy" but If you've been here on GAF long enough, most know he's not. Lately though, with green rats abandoning a sinking ship, he's now a PC guy but can't let go of his old habits of being "neutral" to PS while now waving a PC flag.

I don't know the context of this conversation, but things change so-to-speak.. In an age where exclusivity matters less than it has in a long long time, I don't see much logic per se in the gaming hardware formats keeping on exactly like they have been, forever. And this may very well also include the PC gaming platform as we know it. ..In the long run.

Anyway, it's all good based on his latest post here.

Ive been on PC for years bro. I just lean Xbox in consoles.

Thanks for this post. I get the message

I've always said I lean xbox when it comes to consoles, but Ive always had playstations and beastly PCs and Nintendo consoles and VItas and PSVR, basically everything I want to purchase I buy. I just like countering some of the equally insane stuff I see on here from Sony bros and winding them up. I am factually more neutral than them who wont even entertain, and actively down play PCs or positive news / points of Xbox etc.

But all in all, I appreciate your response and I'll just try to bite my tongue in the future. Sometimes I'll just have to aggravate the nest so to speak because I dont agree with some of the extreme stuff I'm reading.

For you, and everyone on here who is a decent user. I am always trying to improve my posting. Sometimes it will edge over, but hey at least I am trying :)

Appreciate the kind response, taking it like a big boy and sorry that I came off like an asshole mate.

Again, you're a good dude in contrast to some really toxic and constantly negative mf'ers in here, it's just that...you know 😉

Regarding the Sony shit...don't know Denchy, gotta be honest here, the Sony ponies® in here are usually Sony's biggest critics (myself included), we/they shat Sony when they raised PS plus prices, introduced 80 Eurodollars games, keep shitting on them when PSN goes tits up every now and then, shitting on them for the absolutely abysmal refund policies, shitting on them for their...ahem..."politically charged" content AND censorship, shitting on them for their overpriced product MSRPs, tone-deaf releases (Concord threads is the gift that keeps on giving), shitting on them for their - now - monopoly, anti consumer practices etc etc, see what I'm trying to say mate ?
This - IMO - is in stark contrast to the MS/Xbox fanboys in here which will try to defend everything at any time - again, this is always in my opinion.

Anyway, what I'm saying here is that - sometimes - we should think before posting something, many a times I've cought myself deleting a post I was writing thinking "fuck it, there's no real need to reply".

Cheers

Is it capable of performing better than a 7900XTX? Just wondering.
At this moment, it's impossible to tell. Because we don't have the specs.
But there can be situations when it might.

If it's anything like current Nvidia's or Intel's RT units, it will be a dedicated unit, with capabilities to do ray-triangle tests, but also capable of doing BVH traversal, and having the capability to reorganize instructions. RDNA4 is also supposed to have bigger caches than RDNA2.
RDNA2 RT units can only do ray-triangle intersection calculations. And these units are part of the TMUs. So if the TMUs are being used, they can't do RT and those instructions have to wait.
RDNA2 RT units also can't manage a BVH. So it's done in shaders or in the CPU. Having a dedicated unit that can do BVH traversal will be faster for this type of calculations. But also allow for shaders or CPU cores to be freed up.
Having a way to reorganize instructions, RDNA4 will be able to avoid more pipeline sthals and get greater occupancy of the GPU units.
Bigger caches, will mean less time wating for data to execute instructions.
And it's also expected that these units will do more ray-triangle tests per clock cycle.

Now, all of this is just speculation. So we can't be sure of anything until AMD or Sony tell us more about what the RT units in RDNA4 can do.

I think there is good users, definitely. Just like you said but there is plenty of others where they downplay every negative, every comment that could be seen as a genuine negative issue from Sony.

There were people castrating users for any hint that the PS5 pro could cost more than 600 dollars, as soon as it was announced with key missing components and an absurd 700 dollar price tag, they are the first to defend Sony and the box. So, yeah I think there are plenty of level headed users that do complain about Sony, and there are Xbox followers that do the same, jsut naturally less of them.

Basically, both sides have these kinds of comments being thrown around.

You can go through my post history, and outside of my tongue in cheek "Phil is a sex symbol" posts to wind people up. I am critical of them as well. I'm critical of PC, Intel, MS, Sony, Nvidia, AMD. I think the only company I'm not really critical of is Nintendo, as they have established themselves over the years...I suppose their online is still shit but with their output I can look passed it.

ANyway, I'm waffling. I'll sign off that I genuinely love this community, all of it. Every user....Even GHG GHG who's slapped me around with his "receipts"

I just hope that with everyone knowing how I post history, they can appreciate the improvements Ive made to be better at some point.

It's literally the second fastest GPU available on the market in terms of RT performance and even raster lol
The RTX4090 is much faster than my card (30-48% depending on the game).

My point is, you do not need to buy RTX4090 to play games with RT and have a good experience. I often see over 100fps at 1440p native and over 200fps if I enable DLSS features. I am getting such insanely high fps with the RT that sometimes I feel like I would be already happy with just the RTX4060ti 16GB.

But it seems that some people will not accept any compromise. They want to play at extremely high resolutions and refuse to use DLSS / FG features or tweak ingame settings. Only these people can say that modern GPUs are too slow to run RT.

RDNA4 doesn't increase caches vs RDNA3. Also RDNA4 RT is still using TMU circuitry, it just has 2x higher ray-box/tri rates per cycle and some optimizations like support for compressed BVH formats.

News Flash boys…what’s the max TDP of the PS5 pro APU??? Even with all the IPC changes and RDNA 4? Features. It won’t break the law of physics it won’t give you miracles performance a bunch of you are pushing…stop the crazy talk.

I was talking about RDNA2 vs RDNA4. PS5 vs PS5 Pro.

Really? That is a bit of a disappointment.
So RDNA4 will still depend on inline as not to stall when the TMUs are processing textures.

I thought AMD was finally making proper dedicated RT units.

Texturing and RT usually doesn't happen at the same time in the graphics pipeline, it's not really a big deal.

But modern GPUs, in a way, also use pipelining, meaning that theoretically, all units are constantly at work.
The advantage of inline ray-tracing is that it opens the window for when RT can be calculated, meaning, there are more chances to send RT calculations to the TMUs, when they are not being used for textures.

Anyone noticed that the ones that are talking shit over PS5 Pro are the ones that usually do reviews on PC Hardware and most of the times share affiliate links to earn money?

Am i the only one that think that maybe, just maybe, these turds are getting worried that consoles can (maybe not now with PS5 Pro, but very likely in future) be a trouble for their business? I mean, a console that for 800 (in case of PS5) can do AI upscale that is proving to be really good (not better), even when compared to a 2k gpu (gpu alone), would worry me too :D

I doubt it would hurt PC at all. If anything, maybe that would stabilize prices and allow for better ports.

I didn't say that it will hurt PC, i know it will not. I said that the youtubers that usually do PC Hardware reviews and usually use affiliate links to 'earn money' by redirecting users with custom links are the ones (mostly) that are talking shit on ps5 over and over. There no need to point out that a Ferrari is better then an high performance compact car (whatever the brand is), but, in their damaged brain apparently, it seems that PS5 Pro looks like a threat.and might hurt their business

I know what you said…

My point was that it wouldn’t hurt their business due to the things I said could happen. Essentially agreeing with you.
