Intel cancels A20 node, A18 with low yields, Arrow Lake will mostly use TSMC or Samsung

Watching Intel die slowly in real time the last decade has been a good lesson in never thinking you are unassailable in technology

I remember the days when Intel was so ahead in process tech that it was thought no one would ever catch up

Intel is a fucking disaster. I hope they will return to form, I don't like monopoly done by any company (even AMD).

No wonder Gelsinger was sacked.
Intel needs competent leadership, ASAP.
Competitive leadership now is way too late

You can't reverse a decade of failure on a ship by changing out the captain

Also semiconductor manufacturing engineering is a very specialized field and there aren't many good ones in the world

Most of the good ones won't go work at a place like Intel. Once you start losing the race to recruit the best talent, it's very hard to turn things around. And Intel stopped behind the place real talent wants to go a long time ago now

yeah, pat was clearly trying to get intel back into engineering but that takes time and intel is retarded/has had to use their dad's name to make dinner reservations at fancy restaurants for a while now.

up until 2005, intel CEOs were all PhDs in the sciences.
then they switched to MBAs and hired wil.i.am as the "director of creative innovation" and told him to give presentations to their engineers.
