It's hard for me to describe how aggressively lame the idea of a portable Xbox or PS5 is

The hardware isn't what's holding devs back, it's there own incompetence that's holding them back from making games with good performance and graphics.
This guy is literally parroting the exact same thing the person i quoted said and debunked and then quotes me saying the same thing. Clown world calling.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I completely agree, and this emphasis is really going to hamper what developers are able to do if things keep moving in this direction. Admittedly, that might be a good thing since it'd force them to figure out to make a game run properly, but it's overall a negative for the games being made.

Not to mention that portable gaming is literally the least interesting thing in the world to me and always has been. Selfishly, I hate this trend.

We already have Devs complaining about the series s holding then back. Imagine owning a ps6 and having it kneecapped by a portal ps.

This scale narrative only popped up when people were down playing the impact the series s would have.

Man, the 'holding back' crew is in for a shock next year when Switch 2 arrives

That's how I felt regarding the merging Nintendo home consoles and handhelds in one hybrid.

Guess what: Nintendo games and consoles are more expensive than ever, most games subtitles are completely unreadable when playing in handheld mode, graphic and performance of ports are the worst they ever been, pokemon was simply ruined in this generation, control are horrible since they sacrificed the dpad, joy con drift made one of the most unreliable consoles Nintendo created and ... is on track to become the best selling console ever.

Convenience always triumphs over quality, OP. That's the lesson to take from this generation.

Come on.. thats disingenuous. 80% of 3rd party games aren't on switch for obvious reasons. That won't change with switch 2.
So to answer your question. The Devs choose to skip the switch entirely.
And as the poster above highlights how garbage performance is on said ports that make it.

As i do have quite an extensive xbox (series/x/360/og) library, I would be all in on an handheld. And even though I do own a steam deck, I use it quite often for Gamepass related game streaming (Halo Wars 2 <3)

Amazon UK black Friday deal. I'm really impressed. Through software and driver updates it's running like twice as fast as the release reviews and videos from like a year ago.
