Wow thats quite the first week for Taiko no Tatsujin, being a rhythm game & all, also ACs legs are getting longer by the week it seems.

Wii/DS starting to enter hyperdrive for the holiday weeks again, leaving the competition floundering, top 10 all Ninty for the first time in a long while too.

Having one in the top ten, over 100k, and in place number 1 of the list is a nearly once in a lifetime achievement.

I think the DSi will keep the lead since it's still relatively new and many DS owners are probably switching over and will continue to do so into the new year.

I don't think that tells the whole story, to be honest. There are issues with the Wii as a platform for traditional games (in Japan at least) at the moment that are playing a part in the low sales of titles like TvsC or Tenchu IV.

Well, it's not just Dissidia releasing this week. There is also Tales of Hearts, Suikoden Tierkreis and a new Pawa puro, all for DS. Non of these are playing in the same league as Dissidia, but with the DS already being at 200k it'll probably enough to stay before the PSP.

It seems like there's been a big upswing in sales, with Wagamama Fashion: Girl's Mode's weekly (LEGS) sales amount increasing dramatically over the last two weeks. As well Mario Kart Wii has made a reappearance after being off the chart for a while (I think?). Is there any reason for the upswing in Nintendo sales? I'm pretty vague on my Japanese holiday knowledge.

whether it's due to lack of titles or not is pretty irrelevant; low hardware sales might be a symptom of no software, but no software is a symptom of low hardware sales.
