New hardware so soon is a daft idea.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2
New Love Plus+
Persona Q
are probably the other "big" ones.
Games, lots of 'em.
Why does New Super Mario Bros U (over a million now) and Wii Party U show up just outside the Famitsu Top 10 but aren't in the Media Create Top 20??
I don't know. The last time they cut off a system early, the DS happened. Whereas the one time they waited too long, we got the Wii U.
What's the 3DS and Vita 2014 lineup?
Blimey, so it'll overtake itWiiU only 16.130 behind XB360 LTD.
Always look on the bright side...
Amount of software sold doesn't necessarily tell you which one moves more HW. I think it's entirely possible that smash bros will move more HW than nintendos other big hitters. The problem is that right now that still isn't all that much.
There is a 1% chance of Nintendo announce a sku without the gamepad (with Wiimote), or it is crazy to think about that ?
Could someone post the sales of all (3D) Marios in the same timeframe, please? I remember the first week from 3D World was sadly the worst, but did it sell good enough in dezember to change that?
Everything is down year-on-year.
Oh, wait, not everything. Seems there is a shining light in that cavern of darkness. A beautiful light.
Iwata will be ejected from his seat soon enough. #FreeArakawaWe aren't done with Wii U yet. NPD tomorrow and Nintendo financial report at 29.
Waiting on one crazy idea of a game is a dumb thing to do. NCL's output needs to seriously improve. A few amount of games is the better thing as well as promoting what they have in the works. Where the HD Remakes at?I don't know why people keep thinking this. Action on the hardware front takes months to years, anything of interest would have had to been planned as far in advance. Right now serious action in the revival style requires a system redesign or some crazy new game and if you see one it'll have been in the works for a while.

Lot's of animu games and PS3/4 crossreleases.

Correct me if I am wrong but MK Wii has sold close to 35,000,000 units. The game managed close to 25,000,000 units before being bundled and moved another 10,000,000 or so after the bundle released. These numbers are just off the top of my head.
Mario Kart obviously moves consoles. What might not be a bad idea would be to launch a MK8 bundle day one at $279.99, cut the price of the naked console to $249.99 and release MK8 at $39.99.
The DS started very slowly and they had to end early production of the GBA, in order to push it (because the GBA was eating into it's sales).
There's a way higher chance of that. It really isn't that hard to accomplish, it doesn't affect anybody who already bought a Wii U with a Pad, no developers are pushing it (not even EAD!) and there's a greater chance of success without the Pad than with. There is a 1% chance of Nintendo announce a sku without the gamepad (with Wiimote), or it is crazy to think about that ?
has Luigi broken a mil yet?
Speaking of trends
Do you think Knack (Runner up Game of the 2013/ Platformer of the year 2013) will also outsell SM3DW in Japan as it did in the UK?
At first glance, the big titles missing here would be Persona 4 Dance in late summer and Phantasy Star Nova which hasn't gotten a release date yet.
March should be pretty good, if they can announce a small price-cut for Hatsune Miku and SSD release it should build up some momentum again.

Should have, perhaps, but that doesn't mean Nintendo isn't capable of adjusting course as needed.Won't happen.
Should have been done before release as Nintendo was contemplating.
There'll be more iterations in currently succesful franchises and a decent (japanese) first party support. Sony Japan seems to be working better for the last 1-2 years.
There was no real proof of this considering it was holidays and the Vita had all sorts of cheap deals on offer.
It would require a lot of developers to patch their games. I'm not sure any third parties want to deal with it anymore. There's a way higher chance of that. It really isn't that hard to accomplish, it doesn't affect anybody who already bought a Wii U with a Pad, no developers are pushing it (not even EAD!) and there's a greater chance of success without the Pad than with.
They just need to switch course in the marketing department, and optimize the home menu and eShop for Wii remote (also add stickers on a couple games saying "requires GamePad"). Maybe patch 3D World, too.
slow DS sales were at 3DS levels.
This is exactly the kind of thing the WiiU could do with. A few/long months of solid to top notch releases.

the only reason this happens is because the bar for VITA was set so low in 2012.
Vita list is complete for January and February and it's not impressive.
March was big for Vita last year.
Well, I'm comparing the numbers to the 2013 numbers, not 2012.
3DS Beat DS first years and much of second. Also doesn't remove the glaring issue of cannibalisation, and transition of software.

That's the difference. Vita was getting third party support (even though largely ports and niche titles) well before it started doing OK.
Wii U is getting NO third party support, and it won't unless it somehow starts doing more than just OK.
The Vita's early numbers of 2013 were just as terrible as it's 2012 numbers, momentum and all that.
