SE has to publish a western game to compete with L5...or so.
I hope Ninokuni does well, the game is just gorgeous ...but its been a long time since L5 could deliver with a home console title.

Personally, I hope Ninokuni bombs, I hope Little Battlers Boost bombs, and I hope the reports of how badly Gundam AGE is doing both in ratings and in model kit sales continues to hold true. It's about time Level 5 met with some failure after years of unrestricted growth and success while releasing sub-par products! Combined with declining sales in both Inazuma and Layton franchises, it'll be an interesting wake up call.

CoD did pretty well for itself when Activision published it by itself in 2007. CoD3 by Spike didn't do too well but I think the Japanese players like a more modern setting. What's more important is that Square-Enix has taken the localization of it much more seriously.

Layton and Inazuma seem to be growing regardless, in addition to annual sequels both also now have spinoff series (Layton Brothers, Inazuma Strikers).

I wonder what form Layton will take on Wii U?

The Layton franchise is growing in terms of releases, yes, but the actual sales of each entry have been declining.

Sony was planning to launch the Vita on December 3rd but delayed the launch to have a bigger stock on launch week.

The 1M figure is for three weeks worth of sales (2 + 7 + 7).

Same for Inazuma, and I'd expect the platform transition to continue the trend.

Layton hasn't declined outside Japan afaik at least though.

I give LBX four years at most if Level-5 milking occurs, and from the fact Boost exists, I'm going to say it'll happen.

I suspect Inazuma Eleven will be gone before then.

Sub 100k is a bit extreme, but Level-5 hasn't made a great reputation for themselves with console titles.

Like the performance of WKC, then the drop off in sales with WKC2.
