Hey brothers longtime fan who finaly joined.
I love all the metal gears and are really looking forward to mgo. I loved mgo2.
I just need the acid games to complete my collection. Should i bother with them?

The first is good but the second one is AMAZING.

Fucking hell. Mission 43.

That's a series highlight right there. It's kind of like an inverse of The Sorrow battle in MGS3. It hit me particularly hard because I've spent the game going out of my way to not kill anyone. I think in 90 hours I had only killed 30 people.

Awesome! It's an amazing game. Would give anything to experience it again for the first time. Hope to hear what you think going forward on the series!

Until a few years ago I didn't have any way to play the series and didn't think I would ever be able to, so I never actively avoided spoilers. So unfortunately, I already know most of the general plot points for most of the games.

I was hoping to avoid that with MGSV, but it seems like I got spoiled on one of its major plot points in a Smash Bros. thread. >.>

No.
The game is garbage.

Srsly doe it's one of the best moments in gaming for me tbh. Made me tear up tbh. I've only cried during a game 3 times: 1) Mission 43 2)TLOU opening 3) Another MGSV scene that I wont spoil just in case you haven't seen it. "Staff member has died. Heroism -60." BRUUUUUUUH THIS SHIT THO 👌👌👌👌👀👏👍👍
Excellent way of storytelling through the game's mechanics.

Chico is Ishmael.
Are you sure you've been spoiled tho? It could've been a fan speculating for all you know. The game is "incomplete" after all...

Regarding Mission 43:

I found it hard to care about some soldiers that we don't know in any way beyond beating the shit out of them every time I visited Motherbase. Killing a few of them doesn't really make much of a difference when I can just balloon 50 more in whenever I want. The mission came out of nowhere with no build up other than Kaz saying that the infection was back. Didn't find it effective at all.

The cutscene after with the ashes was good though.

Mission 46 is done.
Consider my mind well and truly blown. I wasn't expecting it to end quite like that. Pretty much ties everything up whilst leaving some really big and interesting implications for the series... I need to get my head around it!

Kojima...

I have
Mission 45 and Side Ops 150
still to do, but I think I'll be taking a break for a bit, collect my thoughts, and see what else the PS4 has to offer. Maybe hit some Bloodbourne or try out TLoU. Not to mention seeing you guys on MGO! Much excite!

Man, what a fucking ride.

That's a shame.

For what it is worth,
I think there was enough build up prior to the mission for me. Kaz mentions a few times about the Quarantine facility.

It's not really the point that you can fulton in another fifty soldiers, though. It was having to look all your hard work in the eye and shoot it in the face. It was characters begging me to not kill them. It's was soldiers believing I will make the right choice and accepting their fate (which ties into the bigger picture, if Mission 46 is anything to go by). Doubled up with the fact that I have gone out of my way not to kill anyone, it hit pretty hard. The whole thing was pitched beautifully.

Srey Plaughtered nailed it in another thread. It totally toys with your emotions.

I'm playing through The Twin Snakes right now. Not sure so many people dislike it. Really enjoying it so far. The only thing I really dislike is the change of Gray Fox's voice actor and getting rid of Naomi's accent (which is a complaint I have in MGS4 as well). Other than that it's been fun to play through.

Yea, fair enough. I can see how other people like it. I probably wasn't really in the mind set at the time. It definitely is one of the better missions in the game though. Maybe I'll appreciate more if my brother ever plays through it and I'm watching.

I never had any problem with Twin Snakes. That said, I've always love when Metal Gear gets stupid and Twin Snakes get pretty damn stupid. It's a fun game to ghost using minimal weapons which adds a layer of difficulty which the game was lacking with the first person mode.

Yeah, it's really fun. Game is charming af and a fun way to play MGS1.

You should really
play 45.

Yeah, I was pretty much just sitting there with my mouth open at the end lol, trying to take it all in.

He couldn't have ended the series on a better (and more Kojima) note imo.

That was feels overload for me.

Haha! Yeah, I riked it a rot!
Mission 46 made me really sad... in a good way! I felt so bad for Venom at the end. The Truth tapes were awesome too. Zero is a real bro!

I got a lot I want to say about it but I need time to gather my thoughts so I don't spew an incoherent rant (like I have been doing for weeks). I will get around to the rest of the game, probably clean up
150/45
tonight. After that (and outside of MGO), I really need a break. Maybe Bloodbourne...

I think the game has some issues, but nothing nearly as major as some of the crap floating around GAF. I still don't understand why people are so angry about it, I thought the
Venom / Big Boss
was pulled off really well and the
implications it has for the series
are really interesting.

On the whole I'd rank it something like...

MGS2 = MGS3 > MGS1 > GZ/TPP (they hinge on each other) >>> PW = MG2 >>>>>>>>>>> MGS4 > MG1

Yeah, I was pretty much just sitting there with my mouth open at the end lol, trying to take it all in.

It was really well played.
The Zero tapes were magnificent too.

Retro did an awesome job matching MGS2 gameplay and polish. If it wasn't for the over the top sequences that changed, i think the game would've surpassed MGS1.

Still a great game :) Also.. a lot of the design of the game went away or is broken because you can shoot in FP. Anyways. Good game. Way better than MGSV. :)

You're going to love those! The cutscenes are amazing!

And regarding
the ending (Episode 46), I was blown away too and I thought it made perfect sense specially after reading this

Aw man... I want to play something else!
I know I won't. Game is just too good! :D

Ubik is awesome .Way better than MGSV.

That book is blowing my mind.

Ah, that's great news!

IN OTHER NEWS: I bought SOMA. Better be good! It is good, isn't it?

Also:
the MGSV twist is a very PKD type twist.
Just sayin' :)

SOMA is great. I really enjoyed it. Another instance where a game has a better story than MGSV. :)

Also.. PKD just knows how to setup everything to mess with you. Unlike Kojima where its for the sake of impact. PKD does it because its the most reasonable outcome, even if it doesn't seem that way at first glance. Its awesome. So many bits in the story where i just have to read it again because he just did a 180 or just made something go in a complete different direction. But it so well done. I love this guy. I am so glad i was introduced to him.

take this with a grain of salt but...

That's awesome!

Tomorrow, innit?

Nope...goes live tomorrow. Tuesday 10/6.

OT anyone?
*sigh* well, me friend completely fucking let me down.
I'm going to have to buy a uk copy of the game so i can get access to the PS4 group, and once i do, change a setting in the group so i don't need the uk copy anymore, then sell the uk copy.
Fuck sake man, i was really hoping he'd come through for me, and loan me his for five mins.

Unless one of you who has the uk digital copy, old school game share with me, so i can fix Outer-gaf. please. ?

If I had it, I would happily do so, man.

Can someone you trust sign in as you and change the setting...?
