SCEA has kind of ignored Vita this entire year. They didn't do any TV ads, and their Black Friday deal was just $20 off. It's pretty clear that they checked out once they saw December 2012's figures.

Yeah, SCEA hasn't really done the Vita any favors. It's pretty much dead in the water at this point though. I had some high hopes for the little guy.

Considering the PS4 came out a week earlier it would have been terrible if the XBONE wasn't outsold.

As many people have explained in many threads, this additional week means nothing because it's not like Sony or MS was able to resupply in the week immediately following the launch.

Looking at the top 4 sellers, it seems pretty futile to release a lot of launch exclusive when it's bombarded by mega IPs like that, they are better released later to flesh out the release calander and not be destroyed by the likes of Call of Duty, Battlefield, AC, and Madden day one.

I imagine the price of the Vita is as big a factor as the price of the memory cards.

also, 300k is nearly 45% of the 3DS+2DS number, which is sort of unbelievable given the ratio between the two all year.

Fair point, though I have to ask why Nintendo isn't doing even the weakest spin if there is an actual increase. They seem desperate enough to do so.

Eh, not really. If what we hear is correct, the XB1 is selling more units daily than the PS4. The PS4 outsold the XB1 only because it launched a week earlier. With all the reports of PS4 shortages in the US and MS restocking suppliers, I think its very safe to assume that MS is going to beat out Sony in December.

It's like you guys have forgotten that PS4 was sold out in one day. The one-week period extra didn't matter since Sony couldn't provide more stock until later on.
