S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl ⚠️|☢︎T|⚠️ Don't Be a Menace to Bloodsucker While Trying to Catch an Olive in The Zone

Pretty much all the times I remember, it was red durability sniper rifles, which I would just immediately drop, as you can't even sell those.
Ragman in Rostok buys red durability weapons (as long as they're not 0%).

Ever since getting past the Defending Zalissiya bugged quest (the 2 patches helped, couldn't save Hamster though), I've been back to enjoying the game.

Best thing about this game is it's Gameplay loop. Very fun exploring, shooting and looting.

Interesting one (for me at least)

Every location I've uncovered on the map is back to being a question mark again. GP version for Windows if that makes a difference.

Only played for about 4 hours, is this likely to fuck things up moving further into the game?

Yeah i think i'm gonna shelf the game until they fix a-life and the enemy spawn.

The game feels both dead and barren when you explore the off-beaten path and artifically chaotic when you reach any point of interest at the same time, it's hard to describe.

Great way to describe the game lol, i can walk and see no one and then endless mobs of all things alive chase me like maniacs.

So I went the Stalker route with the opening area, which lead me to the Garbage area. Where do I go to offload some shit to sell here?

Maybe because it’s been years since I played Fallout 4 or Call of Pripyat, but this game feels like what a true Fallout game should be in 2024.

Sorry if this been answered already,
But can you go back to the lesser zone once you leave for garbage?

Yes.
I'm actually returning back to previous areas to make sure i don't miss on any side quests, seen some comments that after certain event side quests can't be done, so trying to get the most before moving on.

I love the game but it's far from perfect. In another year or so when the game's difficulty is balanced better and game systems work as intended, it'll undoubtedly be even more amazing. If they fix everything up for PS5 launch it should land an easy 80-85 MC

The game's addictive because the gameplay mechanics are solid. There's also the joy of discovering new things like artifacts or other cool stuff. New armor, weapons, upgrade system, huge main story that takes you through the numerous regions on the map etc., make the game incredibly fun to play.

Performance is obviously an issue. I am playing on Series X and it's pretty good most of the times but can get bad during the intense fights.

I'm starting to enjoy this. Only got about six hours in so far, held off for the first couple of patches - but this could be my Christmas holiday two weeks off game now.

Anyone have any tips to get past the guards inside the sphere location? I know, I’m EARLY into the game yet, but haven’t had as much time as I’ve wanted to play it. In any case, the soldiers keep pumping me full of lead, so I thought I’d ask lol.

One thing I love about the game is the gunplay, it feels so good to shoot a weapon in this game, very visceral and I like as well the physics when shooting humans and mutants. It feels like they are really being hit by weapons unlike other games

Totally agree. It's even better now after the patch because earlier mutants used to take tons of hits before going down. I am rolling a sniper and shotgun right now. All the guns are fantastic.

I don't think the gunplay is the best or even close to that, fine\ok tier is more where i would put it.

Many time enemy don't even react to being hit except when they finally die, the bullet marks are very tiny and insignificant, no gore or dismemberment and the blood effect are extremely meh and the ragdoll can be glitchy at times.

Weapons models and reload animations are very cool tho.

Keeps crashing to desktop when trying to load my save on GP version!

EDIT: 4 times in a row. Load my save or choose an auto-save same result.

Another patch:

According to your feedback, we adjusted following parameters/values to decrease input lag on keyboard+mouse input:
  • Mouse Smoothing is disabled by default.
  • Mouse Acceleration is disabled by default.

Additionally, default values of mouse sensitivity were updated to allow a predictable default experience for our players with new values of two parameters mentioned bellow:
  • Camera sensitivity: 25%.
  • Aim sensitivity: 15%
Finally!

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Looks like it's addressing some of those bugs some folks had with NPC's dying as soon as they enter a building, among others.

Main and Side Missions

  • Fixed issue with ___ that were able to chase player outside during the In Search of Past Glory mission
  • Fixed an issue where the NPCs ___ would die after trying to enter a building during the mission On the Edge
  • Fixed issue with ___ which could despawn before player loots a collar from it during In the Name of Science mission
  • Fixed issue with player potentially locking oneself during Dangerous Liaisons mission
  • Fixed issue with ___ becoming hostile upon noticing a player ___ during King of the Hill mission
  • Fixed an issue when ___ despawns in front of the player after the dialog in the bunker during A Heavy Burden mission
  • Fixed issue with NPC’s despawning when player successfully finishes Legends of the Zone mission

I haven't followed closely in fear of spoilers, what remains as of now in term of progression bugs? there was some issue with Zalissya.. was this fixed now?
I'm trying not to progress too much in main quest in hope they will fix most progression bugs.

Yes really good gunplay indeed human fights are really good, especially now that my guns and their armor both getting better :D
And this I rarely notice too much but here they sound incredible too with the dolby atmos for headphone app.

Did they adjust performance with the patch recently? I'm on a 7800x3D and 4080 but getting around 90-100 fps / epic / fg now vs a week ago when I last played, feels A LOT better now.

I had to use console commands to walk through a wall to kill enemies with broken AI on the other side or else the mission wouldn't progress.

There’s an alternative route through a sewer. north of the complex. (Right above the marker you get for the mission) Easier to go that way than the top level. (I went the top level, grenades are friend 😂)

I was in some base when something happened and everybody left the room and locked the doors. That was pretty funny.

I haven't had much bugs otherwise, sometimes I can't ready my weapons and some dudes are floating but that's kinda minor.

I have some graphical weirdness tho, where shiny objects like floors have this fluffy white texture on top of them and I can't seem to get rid of that. Especially noticeable in that big science base.

Story-wise I now have to make a decision,
I guess choosing Noontide is the correct one for a good ending. I like Ward more since at least they have a clean building even if they are morally bankrupt.

I’m starting to think this is my Game of the Year. I’m absolutely hooked on it. The gameplay loop has got me bad. I’m glad there are linked stashes in each area. I only played after they patched money stuff and wear/tear.

I’m loving this game more than the past Stalker games.

Same here, even with the bugs and the jank. Although SH2 was incredible so its hard to choose one but this game is definitely going to be a classic when they patch it and release the DLCs
