Same here, even with the bugs and the jank. Although SH2 was incredible so its hard to choose one but this game is definitely going to be a classic when everything works well
Yup. Once I beat it, I’ll take a break from it. Then in a year or so, I’ll buy on the PS5 and start over and make different choices.

I just found this artifact.

Is this a rare one? Seems pretty great to get early on.

I got it without trying. I was going to steal the last loot from the stash in Garbage where they want you to put vodka in bags. Instead I steal the stuff. And look at what my thieving ways get me, an incredible artifact and an upgraded scanner.

It's rare but it's one you can get several times, you could probably farm it. I myself have 2 of them.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
I meant, is it hard to get. I got it easily.

Some are, some aren't. The hardest thing is just knowing where to find them in the world.

Did you happen to travel a little east of Zalissya, the first town you reach? You may have noticed a big sphere of water expanding and contracting. Try going near it, there's one of these legendary artifacts there that I kept through the entire game.

I remember it pulling me. What artifact does it give you?

Weird Ball

It's probably one of the MVP artifacts in the game, it reduces the damage you take from weapons. If you're standing still, the reduction is even better. Good for gunfights when you're leaning around corners, since you're not moving, the artifact helps reduce the gun damage you take.

Hide behind things to get close, only move when it's stopped pulling things in. Right next to it, you'll find the weird ball artifact.

It also get heavier the more it protects.

I think it’s the best one in the game.

Edit: I’ve only got the weird ball, some mold and a flower from the poppy field so far. Any of these do anything? Other than the ball - think I’ve worked that one out. Didn’t know it got heavier mind 🙁

In case anyone is curious where I got the Liquid Rock artifact, I got it here in the Garbage area.

Apparently it’s not always there it’s a random spawn - so if you got it first time fair play.

Unless I read it wrong and it’s always there.

I have been using this mod and the game is so much better for me, it reduces loot, and it makes a few other changes that make the game more realistic, like having to sleep more often, medkits heal you slower etc. It makes the game more like a survival like in Fallout 4. The mod author will improve and add more things in the future

I’ve come across my first mission bug. I completed a quest for a vendor. Received my reward. I went to rest in-game and the mission shows it’s open and that I need to talk to the vendor , but now all they say is the normal jargon. Weird.

What is the secret to using gravity anomalies to launch yourself? Is it a bug?

There is a video of a guy launching across the map, that's not what I want to do, I just want to get 10 ft up.

I randomly get launched up, sometimes I think it doesn't even damage me. Not trying to do it. It just happens. But, I have been trying to get to the top of this building to hopefully find a damn PDA that I cannot find anywhere else (so it must be up there, right?)

There has to be a method. I have been trying to figure any method for a half hour to launch myself, nothing but damage is happening. WTF is the secret?

Best artifact is weird water. Gives you 40 weight and nullifies all radiation. There's one for reducing physical damage called Compass. One for endurance called Thunderberry.

So how is the game without the a-life 2.0 implementation? still worth it?

Good question, i think your best bet is playing it on Game Pass, the core game is great but there are issues, and while they are being fixed you may still encounter bugs, overall i'm having a blast, but combat wise i would say that Metro Exodus for example is much more polished and fun game combat wise, the strength of Stalker 2 imo is it's world, it's a strange world filled with cool anomalies, but combat imo is not the greatest feat the game has to offer, tho it's not bad.

So I did the trek to the north west to get the diamond exoskeleton that’s absolutely amazing. It’s insane how good the armor is. It also increases the weight capacity, as well as has all 5 artifact slots unlocked, and all can be upgraded to remove radiation. Absolutely insane. I also got some great weapons killing dudes up here. I’m still only on the second mission in the second area (Garbage). 🤣

Now I’m off exploring my way back to Garbage, but going a different route. I’ve found two different settlements. Man, I should have come this way, lol.

How the fuck this game can have 86% on Steam without A-life 2.0, then gamers wonder why companies are eager to ship unfinished projects and do not give a single fuck.

I'm not the biggest fun of stalker combat but i think it's way better than exodus combat, killing stuff in that game wasn't really satysfying at all, butci played at launch and the gunplay felt pretty buggy, not sure if they improved something.

Wild how people can have such different opinions :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Still a good game but i regret buying the thing at "full price" (because 95% of the appeal for me was the supposedly super smart ai and a-life system and they are both broken or actively bad right now), in a year or 2 it's gonna be another game entirely for like 5 dollars or so.

But it's good enough to be played, right now it's basically a far cry with a fallout skin (more competent in some aspects, less competent in others) so if you like how this sound, you are gonna have fun with it regardless.

Alright, I really love this game, but after playing for hours(25?), I realized I've only made it halfway through, and I'm feeling a bit tired. Maybe I'll take a break until some new updates come out.

The game loses steam quickly after the SIRCAA facility, just endless fetch quests sending you halfway across the map just to get a tiny bit of the story. The environment designers have done a great job but the quest designers have failed to populate the map with interesting things to find and do. The lack of life in the world really shows as well during these long treks across the map. It's a decent base for modders and future expansions like clear sky and call of pripyat to put new stories into the map.

Okay, I'm goin' to put the game down until they'll release a few dozen patches. Just got to the swamps and I don't want to deal with crashes, bugs and stuff anymore, it's just not a good experience.

Has anyone played the original STALKER? I've been playing it alongside this. I modded it with the STALKER 1.5 complete mod which I've heard makes the game easier and had QOL improvements along with graphics updates and my god I've never died so much in a game in my life. I'm no rookie in FPS games either. I had to turn it down to novice difficulty which makes the game manageable.

I can't even think of any quest that didn't revolve around "go get this item from here" or "go talk to him over there" in some capacity. It's almost MMO-like in structure. Pretty poorly designed and gets boring super fast.

I enjoyed the first day or two playing this but now that I haven't played for a week or so I have basically zero interest of returning, with the performance issues and lame spawn system and all.

After a couple dozen hours of playtime the game just told me I’m drowsy for the very first time on XSX. I had to sleep to make it go away. Maybe it got patched?

I liked it better when I didn’t have to sleep 😩

Well i think i'm almost finished, i'd say the first 10-15h were fucking great, after that some parts were not as good, i hated the swamps for exemple, anyway the gunfights are much better than the original, i mostly used an assault rifle and a good old spas, with a silenced pistol sometimes, it's a good game but it will be really finished in 2-3 years like Cyberpunk
