Made some time to try out the first 3 games, Barbuta; Bug Hunter and Ninpek. They're all hard lol. Am I just a bitch ass gamer these days or are these games designed to be challenging? They all seem cool, simple and fun games but also difficult. Mind you I spent like 20mins on Barbuta.

Barbuta is a total ball buster. It was certainly a choice to make that the first game.

I'm curious as to whether I should try to beat these game sequentially, or just hop between them all. Because 50 games is an overwhelming number to choose from. I also want to give each a fair shot.

Just shop and focus (gold/cherry) on whatever you think is fun. There are some hardcore nerds that already have 50 cherries, and even they admit they're insane because of how much time they spent on the games they didn't really enjoy playing.

You get a cherry for beating a game I take it?

You get a gold cart for beating a game, reaching a certain highscore or x round/level. Cherry carts have (way) more difficult requirements. In the game selection screen you can select a game and view more info on them, including the requirement for gold. Once you reach gold, the requirement for cherry appears.
Forgot to mention, there are also 'gifts' as a form of achievement. They show up in the 'garden'.

Thanks for sharing. So lots to do for the completionist. I'll continue to chip away at these games one by one until I find the ones I get really hooked on, I remember seeing a couple from the trailer I was eager to play, no idea what they're called in the game though.

Those are all particularly challenging, as are most of the chronologically earlier titles. I'd recommend bouncing around a bit, dipping into games for 15 minutes or so, and seeing what clicks. Some are definitely easier and more accessible than others.
