Xbox One Preview Members get early access to the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta

So yeah, if someone wants to give me a preview program code I would be eternally greatful!
I would give you an internet high-five, or not if you're not into those things...

Gamertag The Papasmurf.

Can't just give them out man. Says you would be removed from the program or excluded from further stuff like this. If you're talking about an invite into the preview program itself then it takes too long for the account to be approved anyways. I seriously doubt you would get Halo codes by the time it's over.

Man I've tried so many times to get into the preview program! I've been invited by people at least 6 times but never got accepted.
I want to try this out already.

somethingsomethingsomething about living in parents basement, eating doritoes etc etc.. yeah, not insulting in the slightest and completely reasonable.

I'm not sure what your hang-up is here.

"They're using it to advertise Halo"

Well, yeah. A Halo 5 beta isn't going to move Mario Kart.

I fully agree with the highlighted, because they have already said as much, in so many words. They said the base gameplay has been solidified for two years already and the game is coming out within a year, so it's not like they're going to redo the entire game and all of the maps that were built around this because of the feedback from a beta.

You are delusional if you thought they were going to rework the entire game based off of a beta.

"Something something living in your parent's basement, dorritos" was completely taken out of context. I truly believe that the main problem with this franchise currently is that it is now being marketed to a brand new generation. Kids who maybe grew up with 360s, not those of us who grew up playing system link Halo CE or were early adapters of Xbox Live and Halo 2. I truly mean that Microsoft is going after 21 and under target demo, many of whom still live with their parents because they're in high school. Also, the dorritos thing has everything to do with Microsoft's own advertising material for previous games. I'm in my late 20's and I don't know a single person that eats dorritos on a regular basis anymore outside of maybe draft day for fantasy football.

They should be targeting the younger generation. The people who grew up with Halo such as myself, are now starting families and have careers. And as such, I can no longer spend 300+ hours playing a Halo game anymore. If I'm lucky I get an hour a day.

I hope it will be able to be streamed, I'll be watching tomorrow for sure since I still don't have an XB1 yet.

I am very disappointing with Halo:TMCC. Despite that I will be playing all day tomorrow and if I can I will be streaming for over 10 hours (Only if i like the Beta). There will be bugs and glitches but as long as the game is fun i will be there

Yeah, I guess it would take too long to get approved for the program, that's the code I was referring to. Should have been more specific! Thanks though!

Sad thing is that, If you're not preview program user, you're out of luck for this early access.

Because even if someone invite preview program membership to other user, It takes 1 week to get invite message. :(

I'm regretting about this... ;(

I can't even tell if I'm being trolled or not. I quit this thread.

Yeah I definetly missed the boat to get into this early access for sure. But an invite to this program would be appreciated none the less. Don't wanna miss out on any other little perks in the future.

Well that sucks, not being a Preview Member and all. I guess I will just have to wait for the 29th, going through AC: Unity at the moment (just started it today) but I am too hyped for the Halo 5 Beta.

Would anyone be able to send me a preview program invite? I know I won't get in for the early access Beta, but I've been interested in the experiencing the new dashboard updates before they get released, and though this might be a good a place as any to ask.

Thanks :3

First thought: Its great to get more people into the beta, and MS always said that MCC wasn't the only way to get in, but offered no more details until now.

Second thought: BUT... giving preview members access to the beta 10 days before those who bought the MCC is incredibly bad form, especially considering how many of those buyers (including new buyers of the Xbox itself) feel about that game and its support to date.

I don't even get what they're thinking here.

I'm guessing this is precisely why it takes a few days to get access to the beta program. They're not looking for people to sign up just for early access perks. What they do want is people who can run shitty, buggy software, report issues, and come out the other end smiling. It's not for everyone. Go into any of the dashboard preview threads and you'll see many people asking how to get out. So if yo want in, great, I'll invite you myself. Just realize it's not all backstage passes and coke parties.

Edit: Invited.

Yup, seems like a giant middle finger to the people that bought MCC especially after all of the technical mess. If anything, they should be giving MCC owners 10 day early access.

Yeah I imagine there's some inherent issues with beta testing a dashboard. But overall it sounds kinda worthwhile and interesting. Thanks for the invite, I appreciate it

Didn't scan every post but preview members pay attention to this

Well I have no intention of giving my code away

Wonder what time I will get my code, I would like to get it tonight so I can download while I sleep, and wake up to sweet sweet beta matches.

I am seriously impressed how early this beta is. Like an actual beta, 1 year before release.

Looks to me like 343 is serious about listening to the community (remember there are many different views within the community), and making the best halo game possible.

Also I think it might allay many fears about sprint and prettier scope mode.

I'm thinking it will be some time yet before we recieve codes. Like, later tonight UK time. That's solely based on when we got the first message.

Well looks like I didn't get it in the first wave. Going to hang tight a little longer before I give it up.

can someone invite me to the preview program? I've been wanting in for a while but forgot to do something about it, so I guess now's as good a time as ever (but earlier would've been better lol)

Pretty much.

That game still doesn't work for me lol.

Buy Sunset Overdrive! You won't regret it!

I will as soon as I feel comfortable to do so. Trying to get a new PC up for work/additional schooling for both the wife and I, which of course will have to be quite capable in handling games like Dragon Age Inquisition and The Witcher 3 : )

It's 10 days early sure... but the early access only lasts from the middle of the day on the 19th to some time on the 21st.

ok, I got the messages but there is no code. Will the codes come at a later time? How will I download the beta?

Edit: nvm. I'm an idiot. looks like the codes will be sent out sometime during the day...
