One question guys:

I rolled a temple knight, focused on STR, END and VIT.

I carry a maxed DBS, a dark silver shield, talisman of beasts (for second chance/evacuation mainly) and the old king armor. I'm SL 93 with the following stats:

VIT 34
INT 15
END 40
STR 30
DEX 16
MAG 11
FTH 20
LCK 7

I know stats pretty much have a soft cap of 40, but my question is: for my NG+ run should I keep investing in my main attributes o maybe I should start investing in things like magic or luck? Is there a general consensus on levelling strategy?

Hope it will be as good as Dark Souls. Any major differences apart from the free roaming in Dark Souls I should be carefull about? Don't want to mess up the game as often as I did in Dark Souls. Trial and error nearly made me go crazy...

The messages are much more frequent and helpful. You'll see much more bloodstains as well.
Controls aren't as tight but still good. Not as many weapons either.

I haven't played Dark, but there's some trial and error to be had in Demon's. Some traps will be impossible to predict and you'll die a cheap death a few times, but most of the time it's down to your skill and knowledge of enemy patterns, map layouts, etc.

It's been a while since I've done a low level run. Unless you restrict magic though, the Royalty is easy mode with his magic. Best to make everyone roll a Barbarian.

Low level runs are stupidly easy when you know all the stratagies and tricks in the game. I beat NG & NG+1 at level 23.

I decided to give this a whirl again before the servers went down as a last hurrah.

Went with my old favorite, a Faith build using Moonlight Sword (hear that Dark Souls, Faith NOT Intelligence for MS >_>). This game feels so damn easy after playing Dark Souls to be honest, I've only died once and it was because I was so into the Dark Souls system of Estus I forgot to buy grass and ran out in the middle of 5-2's poison swamp. XD

Already taken down Phalanx, Tower Knight, Leechmonger and Dirty Colossus. Plan on taking out Astraea/Garl once I get home from work and then probably on to Armor Spider.

World 3, you will always get summoned for the old monk fight, even if you lay a summon sign down. Everywhere else is barren, atleast in NA.

Huh, was wondering why I haven't seen any summon signs down. Maybe for once I'll be able to complete 4-1 in Body form without having to murder like 6 BPs.

They're not that bad. The ones in the swamp don't pursue you very far, and are easy to kill with hit and run tactics. In the second part of the swamp, you just lure them to the scaffolding, then snipe them from above while they run around helpless.

5 was my least favourite world, but my favourite boss fight ironically enough. So symbollic, and the soundtrack during it was beautiful...

It's the world everybody hates the most, but it's probably the most thrilling and scary of them all. I love it and hate it at the same time.

I find the song at the beginning cutscene (drums, chanting and horns) to be super unsettling. I always skip past it as fast as possible. Ha ha.

I also sit at the load game screen for awhile because the music is very calming.

There are 3 (or 4, I forget now) of them on an island a little bit past the town. They are guarding some Stones of Ephemeral Eyes.

Just remembered - there is one in the town during PBWT. I remember running past him when trying to farm for chunks of Marrowstone.

I bought Demon's Souls in 2010, but I only completed the first level, and I sold it a few months ago, but I decided to play it a bit before I shipped it. That was the first time it really clicked with me, and since then I've been itching to play it or Dark Souls, and I think I'll finally give in this week, as a reward for finishing my exams.
I heard the US servers are shutting down, but are the EU ones safe for now? I never really understood the online, how I can summon other people and such. I'll finally delve into the game, and hopefully find the experience so many have been raving about, wish me luck GAF!

Spent the last two hours being summoned as a Phantom in 1-2 to face off against the Tower Knight. I was plopping my summon sign right after the Phalanx archstone and I was surprised how active it was for me. I probably got in just about a dozen clears for people and there were multiple ghosts still running around. I'm going to miss this.

With that said, I've started my no level up character. I didn't go with the Royalty simply because magic makes most of the game easy mode. I went ahead and decided to roll with the Barbarian and smack people around with my club for a bit (until I get another suitable Barbarian like weapon... Meat Cleaver?).

I was thinking about maybe going back to my old PvP stomping grounds (3-1) to see about getting some invasion action with my parrying thief...

I've never really used magic in this game before so I'm not sure which spells to get.

Thinking about getting the JPN or PAL versions of the game so I can play online after May 31. Any word when those versions will get shut off? Japanese version doesn't have an english text option does it?

I am really having a blast with this one. I think if I would have played this before my experience with Dark Souls would have been a lot more rewarding and satisfying.

Too bad my mage can't use all those cool shields and armor I found. Hopefully there will be some gear for him aswell. Best 8 hours I have spend with a game lately.

What I did as a beginner (I played Dark Souls) is killed the (mini?) bosses at 1-1, 1-2, 3-1, 2-1 and didn't have a problem thanks to Soul Arrow. Now I am searching for a easy Arch Boss so I can continue 1-3.

Whenever you are playing online, everytime you connect to the server, it pushes your world tendency towards the direction of the server's overall tendency. Because of this, it is extremely difficult to reach pure black or pure white because you will always be inching in whatever direction the server is pushing you to.

When you are offline, the only thing that will affect your world tendency will be the things you do in the game yourself.

There really isn't much to tell story wise. I've tried lol. The only story I can get is from the booklet, the intro, some NPC chatter and some Arch Demons, then the final boss of course. But otherwise that's it.

It is so because From intended it to be so. They wanted it to be minimalistic in that sense and focus moreso on the gameplay than anything else. Kinda like SOTC and ICO, not much story, but rich gameplay.

I recommend to go to 1-3 and 1-4 after completing all the other levels.

Arch Demons often have an awesome gimmick but they are easy (the one in 1-4 is the exception).

I'm going to try that later tonight. I only did it once and managed to get one of them down to half, but then I got stuck behind some shit pillar and couldn't move without either falling or getting hit by one of them.
