Fortnite |OT| Earliest Access VS Husks

This game definitely needs to streamline the skill/research system and/or provide more useful tutorial information. I still have no idea what my Survivor teams are even accomplishing. And is there a way to repair degraded weapons? Or is it just once the degradation hits 0 you're out of luck? Should you recycle everything before it breaks?

I'm enjoying the gameplay loop but it's a tad frustrating navigating all this stuff.

Survivors are basically a stand-in for equipment. They raise your FORT stats and let you get bonuses like +trap damage and +shield regen.

No repair option. I recycle items where I get back blast powder and other valuable stuff I use regularly. I let everything else break or just drop it.

Tutorial and in-game help need a lot of work.

Crafting bullets is pretty easy, though. You can do it on the fly by holding the reload key.

You can also do it accessing your inventory. There's a section for ammunition.

Yeah but I'd like to know what parts I need to make bullets and what to mine to get the materials to make them

The game is so esoteric and not really in a good way. Everything is confusing. Why is the skill tree navigation sooo slow?! I think FFX's sphere grid is similar and you can skip around it really quickly. FortNite's skill tree page seems to move with a bit of a lag.

Also the game has a story path - which it shows but you can't seem to go back and play levels? Man, that level where you had to find a treasure box was a level in frustration as I had no outlander. just ran around the level for the whole 18 minutes looking for a treasure chest.

Also, just played a level - the whole level where the unreal engine's textures refused to load so it just looked like crap.

Wood, metal and nuts & bolts. Nuts & bolts come from parking meters, cars, tool chests and so on.

I don't think so, but can you replay similar types of missions from the map. There's often some good rewards for doing it too.

I'm just so burnt out on trying to get the Bluglo siphon mission done. I ask for help in chat, sometimes one person will come over, and then the other randoms will start the main mission and the one guy will abandon me.

Might help to try the discord.

My strategy was to solo the first 2 waves since they're easier and ask for help on the third.

Holy shit, this game becomes a huge grind at level 20+. I feel I'm not making much progress at all in the the second zone. They really need to change the loot system. I seem to be getting llamas very rarely now which are the only way of getting any sort of decent loot. Level 5/6 chests should definitely contain a couple of schematics at the very least . As it stands I don't really give a shit what I get in chests and normally fast forward through them.

The worst part is that I wouldn't care so much if this was f2p, but hitting a pay-wall in a game I've forked out £35 notes for kinda stings.

Um, tried to do a shield storm level (5) in the first world, fuck this game. ran out of ammo because I used all my metal to build structure. There's nothing in that area to mine. And I died. Seriously god, it doesn't feel satisfying at all. There's very little I could do to fight back. Really pissed me off.

losing the challenge = all my resources got used up. :/ fuckkk you!

the missions are all sort of samey. Please tell it the core gameplay diversifies. They need to give you the abiltity to upgrade your mining ability faster.

yeah. I think if this game wasn't built as a free to play, it would be a lot more balanced and better.

can't believe I paid for this.

And also, graphics still aren't loading right. Urgh.

Umm, I've got news for you, it is a f2p game just not released yet.

I am like power level 25-26, I haven't ran into this paywall you speak of and I am doing 40 power missions.

One thing they did really nail is the gunplay. I just do not get bored shooting husks. Love the way the guns sound, and how they get these janky sounds when they're about to break. The foundation is just really solid.

Whats the fastest way to collect resources like wood, stone, and steel?

Do you have to continuously hit your cap and then return to your base, deposit them, then go back and collect more? Is there an easier way to collect them faster?

Not that I know of. I use an outlander with the loot llama skill and supply drop gadget.

I suggest a Destroy the Encampments mission for farming purposes. You'll get all the normal stuff for the area, plus any encampments you feel like destroying will drop loot as well. You can aim at an encampment to see what rewards it will drop.

How do I play a mission solo?

Right now it isn't.

Maybe I should have been more specific. I paid £35 for early access, to play this game now, and the game feels like a f2p game, especially at higher levels. Research and Xp is steady, but the loot as all but dried up to a few flickerings of llamas that the game throws at you for reaching certain milestones.

I only suggested that there should be slightly more ways to get loot rather than paying out for llamas. I know some people have got lucky, but I'm still on a grand total of just 2 legendary items and I'm at level 27.

Spent ages and most of my resources building a fort (solo) for two side-by-side Atlases. Get to the last wave of defence and the game crashes. Log back in, "cannot rejoin as game is over" didn't get any of the rewards/quest updates but lost all my resources anyway. Fuck. That. *switches to Outlander*

There's also Expeditions to send your Heroes on to get resources. Takes a couple hours however.

Yeah. I bet Expeditions will be amazing later, but I can't really do any of the worthwhile missions yet.

Thank you!

One last question for today, how do you lay flat ramps? Like stairs but flat. Seen a few people use them lately but I have no idea how they are doing it.

Not sure. Have a pic?

I don't disagree with you, they should add more ways to get stuff. I think they're trying to add more ways to get stuff on a sort of daily timer, so you can't just grind it out but occasionally you're get great bonuses for doing missions. Problem is right now that in plankerton the rewards are too minor, and arguably for expeditions too.

Legendary stuff isn't really that much stronger than epics though. Maybe 10% better for heroes. Not sure about other stuff. I'd be happy with any epic ninja hero at this point, although I am not hurting for it either.

Anyone else has this happen: twice today, after getting a reward where I could choose between epic melee or epic ranged weapon schematic, after choosing one, I don't get anything?

Also, what does it mean when I get "x amount of people" as a rewards? Where do these people go?

^Absolutely. The game was/at times still is a clusterfuck with it's myriad of different systems and thingies that the game teaches you nothing about :p

Fortnite has a cool community. Join the Discord if you're into the game.

Asked about farming simple twine and some cool dude just gave me a couple of stacks.
