Huh? RM3 is definitely not this year. It was announced for early 2011.

From Dengeki, ACE:R 225k with 80% sellthrough, Neptune 24k with 85% sellthrough.

From Famitsu, MHP2G accelerating to 4m:

Original release: 2,453,132
Budget re-release: 1,111,876
Budget re-release reprint: 385,099 (9,055 on the 8/9-8/15 week)
Total: 3,950,107

Since Famitsu is a week behind, just before MH Diary game it should be 40-43k off from 4m. Probably will get somewhat of a bump with MH Diary release, so it should hit 4m in September. Capcom announced it had shipped 4m back in March though, I guess they were counting PSN sales as well.

Has SSBB reached 2 million in Japan yet?

Last Famitsu figure I saw had it at around 1.9 million at the end of 2009, but I may have missed one since. It's almost certain to make it eventually, I think, but it will be a haul to get there.

This figure can't be right. Maybe they mean the top selling game for 360 was less than 1.000. Last time this happened was the week 13/07/09-19/07/09

Why Okamiden and Shiren 5 but not Zero no Kiseki and Dragon Ball Tag VS? Both Okamiden and Shiren 5 will top off at 80-90,000, which the same as the other 2 games mentioned.

I'm kind of curious what they will try next if this game doesn't hit their goals, since going back to Prime doesn't seem to solve their issue either.

More Magician’s Quest Mysterious Times Coming To Nintendo DS

You may remember Konami’s Animal Crossing-meets-Harry Potter hybrid, titled Magician’s Quest Mysterious Times in North America. The title, set in a magic academy, was an Animal Crossing style communication game, a comparison which Konami was proud of.

Now, Konami are working on a sequel. The protagonist this time around is a future sorcerer and attends the magic school the game is set in, where he can interact with other students, go shopping and the like.

Time in the game is linked to real world time, and once every week, you’ll find yourself in the “Magical Hour.” During this hour, you’ll get the opportunity to catch rare bugs or fish. Once the hour is up, you’re required to solve a magical case, depending on your character.

Magician’s Quest: The Merchant’s Store of Sorcery also lets you run your own store, and there’s a nice range of choices. You could open a restaurant or a fashion store or even a jewelry store. Mini-games allow you to obtain items to keep in stock for selling at your store. There’s also a Tag Mode-like function where you can exchange information with another DS.

Konami haven’t announced a release date for Magician’s Quest: The Merchant’s Store of Sorcery yet, but according to Dengeki, we should be hearing of one sometime soon.

http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/293/293873/

Konami has definetely good timing with release dates.

They skipped 2009 for the Magician’s Quest: Mysterious Times sequel since Friend Collection came out and took all the glory.

Professor Layton 5 moved to 3DS and they were ready to fill the gap at DS with Zack & Ombra: The Phantom Theme Park.

Numbers from the other two Japanese trackers.

Another Century's Episode R is already 32% off at amazon and has very low reviews (2.5/5.0 from 359 votes). This almost confirms it has very bad word of mouth.

I wonder how Yakuza PSP will fare. SEGA announced that there will be a live action show and a manga series for it, so I can see it bringing in some new people.

That will only affect the eventual legs though. The game will be out before the TV series, and the manga will start serializing just the week before the game is out.

Sinobi didn't give numbers for Metroid I, II and III but only for Metroids after Fusion :(

He gives an estimate of 100k+ LTD for Metroid: Other M.

EDIT: Also a comment on Bleach: Hit the Soul 7. He believes it will underperform previous entries not because of content or quality but because of lack of advertising and bonuses from Sony.

Not directly relevant to MHD PSP but Monster Hunter Nikki Mobile Airu Mura had 500k subscribers

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/08/29/half_million_monhan_mobile/

Capcom's mobile Monhan Diary game gets over 500,000 players in 17 days

There have been a few anecdotal indications of strong initial success for Capcom's Monster Hunter spinoff title Monhan Nikki Poka Poka Airu Mura (widely written in English as Monster Hunter Diary). But this is just one recent example of the franchise's success away from the PSP. Prior to Diary's release, a mobile "social" version of Monster Hunter saw some major success of its own.

On Friday, Capcom announced that Monhan Nikki Mobile Airu Mura reached half a million subscribers 17 days after the start of service. The game is available on DeNA's popular Mobage-town mobile portal and social networking service.

The Mobile version of Monhan Nikki is set in the same village setting as the like-named PSP version. The series' cat-like mascot character Airu, known internationally as Felyne, is in the starring role here. Players collect items and make friends via cooperative play, all the while building up a village.

Released on August 10, Monhan Nikki Mobile is free to play, only requiring Mobage-town registration, which is also free. Capcom makes money off item sales.

Idea Factory is on a roll with Hakuouki. #4 could be the highest debut ever for an IF game, closest I see on garaph is a PS2 title in 2003 at #6. Numbers-wise, best start seems to be Generation of Chaos IV (PS2, 2004) at 27k. Could it also beat that?
