I think cream is just waiting for the grand finale, where he drops the horrible Wii U third party numbers and goes, "abidy, abidy, that's all folks!"
If you've got access to NPD numbers, I'd like to hear how he's wrong.Wow dude you need to go recheck your figures. That's just not correct. At all. Go run that again.
That is the correct ballpark.
Honestly, if Skyward Sword was on the Wii U with the touch screen controller and in HD... i would have a Wii U right now.
Was going to post this.I cannot remember the last time a console launched where I could easily find it at any store in the first few months.PS3 included, you could find if you looked but the WiiU was in stock everywhere this holiday season where I live.the xbox 360 was super, SUPER supply-constrained. the ps3 was supply-constrained in november and not so much in december. the wii u was the same as the ps3. the thing to note is that the wii u really dropped off week-to-week from november to december. it's going to have a very poor 2013, probably rivaling the ds's 2005 and the ps3's 2007. or worse.
Because GAF.
That is the correct ballpark.
there is a difference though. This was the wiiU's chance to really make a run here but the MS and Sony successors will now be something they have to keep up with, and their game prospects aren't looking so hot at the moment (that could change at E3....maybe).Because GAF.
Just to be clear, are you saying this because you think the Wii U launch effort was particularly good, or because you think the 360/PS3 suggests particularly poor launch efforts? Because if it's the former...
They will have substantial third party support. Watch Dogs and Destiny alone will generate more attention than Nintendoland and New Super Mario Bros 4 were able to.
Nope. But there are others that have that data. And what he's saying isn't correct.
Vita really should be cancelled. I want every ounce of Sony's effort to be in ensuring the ps4 is incredible. Vita is a distraction.
I predict some brutal months ahead for wii u.
So when does Vita phone happen? 125k? There's nothing to lose...
That is the correct ballpark.
Vita didn't sell 500k between November and December.
Hmm, 250k would be quite a leap from the 125k+ that cream indicated, but cream has seemed reliable before. That is the correct ballpark.
I believe he's saying that saying Vita was 125k+ leaves too much room for misinterpretation, if 250k is close to the truth. So you are saying Vita sold less than 125K?
This is more ridiculous than the wiiu is virtualboy remark. We are at the beginning of a new gen we dont know if wiiu will hit its stride, if ps4 will be a massive success or if ms will dominate all. Even if ms dominates and nintendo and sony sell sub 30 million respectively i dont see a sony/nintendo console anytime soon.
Especially if you consider how sony came into the hardware business in the first place.
What do you play on it? As a dedicated Vita gamer, I'm curious. That's funny, I'm the same, but I sold my Vita 4 months ago. I miss it, but I can't bring myself to buy another since I know the price cut has to be coming. iPad Mini gets my mobile love.
You're the worst kind of Sony fan.Vita really should be cancelled. I want every ounce of Sony's effort to be in ensuring the ps4 is incredible. Vita is a distraction.
Halo Wars on a tablet would actually be pretty amazing. I like this idea.
Going by myself and my friends list, there is a huge amount of crossover between CoD and Minecraft.
Still terrible numbers, but not Sony should just cancel it now numbers.
Vita didn't sell 500k between November and December.
At this point what does Sony have to gain by staying in the handheld sector?
Gaming-centric phones have been done before. All have failed. Why wed a losing business model to a worthless brand? (Vita/PSP mind you, not Sony)
What do you play on it? As a dedicated Vita gamer, I'm curious.
Just The Simpsons Get Tapped, the Walking Dead and a bunch of blown up cell phone games?
Or anything with some actual substance?
Maybe they sold what ever they can put out.
Sounds like those laid off Sony PR people landed on their feet.
Sold less than a $600 console that was far more supply constrained?
Yep, it's doing real bad. Panic mode Nintendo Commence!
WOW!!
they had a launch effort with a wide variety of games but none were system sellers, just like how i believe the next sony/MS console is going to launch
Wait, why is everyone panicing if Wii U outperformed both ps360 launches. And dont come with supply/theoretical sales please.
He said >1 that imples between 125 and 250 there's isn't conflicting information here...
Vita 250k
let's not start a witch hunt now, people
Vita > 1/10 3DS
cod bundle ~ 70%
Found it myself
Wii Dec 2006 - 604,200
PS3 Dec 2006 - 490,700
Wii U Dec 2012 - 460,000
360 Dec 2005 - 281,441
And here are PS2's numbers
PS2 October 2000 (Launch) - 391 245
PS2 November 2000 (second month) - 187 554
PS2 December 2000 (first December) -522 239
I really can't believe how badly the Vita is selling. If that statement is taken to mean that it sold under 250,000 units in December they might as well close up shop.
Guess we'll see.
What do you play on it? As a dedicated Vita gamer, I'm curious.
Just The Simpsons Get Tapped, the Walking Dead and a bunch of blown up cell phone games?
Or anything with some actual substance? (I want to know what to try out when I borrow my roommate's iPad for a test drive.)
My Vita prediction (280k) is going to cost me any chance at the #1 overall ranking for the yearly GAF prediction D:
Why did I believe that it would just do terribly instead of Vita-like...
Yeah, i was thinking the same thing. It seems that some people saw the "1/10 3DS" and just assumed 125k. Although i must admit that i was thinking closer to 125k when i saw it, eventhough it did say more than 125k.He said >1 that imples between 125 and 250 there isn't conflicting information here...
Lol

That makes it seem much better than what I even thought it wasTo put it even more into perspective:
Xbox 360 US Launch (Nov+Dec): 607k
PS3 US Launch (Nov+Dec): 687k
Wii U US Launch (Nov+Dec): 890k
Wii U is not setting the world on fire but some of the reactions in this thread are way overblown.
You could even say Wii U is the best North American launch of a HD console in history.Nintendo should hire me to do their PR.
